Kamon walked down the hall and nodded to Jace. They walked out of the ship and off the boarding ramp. Kamon drew on the Force and used it to sut the ramp and lock the ship.

"Come. We're going to the forest. We aren't just hear to look at the locals or spend time in the city. There are some things we must do."

He strolled out of the bay and into the main terminal. He slid his robe back behind his lightsaber so that people would see it. This would be essential to his plan.

I nodded my consent, and walked with him through the Hapan city. I was growing increasingly aware that the locals where staring at us. I pressed my lips together, and surpressed a grimace, but I continued to walk. I noticed what Kam did with his lightsaber, so, I took the hint, and did the same, letting the black hilt hang from my belt.

The forest wasn't that far from where the Docking Bay was, so it didn't take too long to get there. Once we had walked in a good twenty meters, I stopped and looked around at the clearing.

"May I ask you were we are going? I mean, if we're not here to see the locals, or the Royals, and we're not here to enjoy the scenery, then what in the name of the Force are we doing here?"

Kamon looked a little dismal, bit his destination was important to him. More important to Jacen, but important to him as well.

It was not a place he wanted to start, but he felt drawn to it. When he felt drawn to it, he had to go.

"There's something you have to see."

He led on into the forest and up a hill. The hill was lined with trees and there was a clearing at the top. In that clearing was a lage burn mark and a stone. It was there first destination, and not one he really liked.

"This is where Anakin was cremated."

He stood in the tree line to give Jacen some space. He knew how much this must hurt the man. He had lost many family members in his time.

The words flowed from Kamon's mouth, and blasted into my ears. There was a moment of stunned disbelief, followed by a maelstrom of emotions running through the Force. I feel to my knees, my Force shields failing me and giving way to the myriad of emotions. They blasted through my entire being, and played openly on my face. The tears burned there way down my cheeks, ripping like molten lava. I drew in a haggard breath and slammed my eyes shut. Tears jumped from my eyes, dancing in the dirt, almost happily dispite the fact that my emotions were as far from happy as humanly possible. I hadn't seen Anakin's burial site in a long time, and it was the laast place that I had expected to go today.

"Why..?"

The word was said on the air of my breath, and barely able to be heard. I slammed my fists into the dirt, forcefully.

"Why?!"

Kamon let a tear streak down his face from the pain he felt from Jason. Mixed in with his own pain, it didn't feel good.

"To bond us together, Jason. My Family was killed. My parents were killed by my borther. My sister was taken by pirates and killed, I lost the rest of my family to the Vong. I want you to understand that I can relate to how you feel."

He strode over and placed his hand on the young mans shoulder.

"Besides I had to know how you would react. We will face the Vong eventually, and I can't have you getting yourself killed because i failed to see what was coming. If you want me to leave you alone for a while I will, but know this, I feel the same pain you do."

I shook my head as I stood up, grabbing his wrist for support. My eyes burned with fire, but I could understand his reasoning for what he did. I sniffed once, and then opened my mouth to speak,

"...N..No. I needed to face this."

I felt the onslaught of the emotions again, and then tried to keep them sealed away, knowing all the while that it was folly. I collapsed, and gave Kamon a quick embrace, and then feel down again in the dirt, embarrassment for what I just did mixing with the pain from the momeries.

"Sorry."

Kamon nodded.

"Its not a problem, my padawan. You must face your fears and your past. If you don't, it will haunt you for the rest of your life."

Kamon drew on the Force and lifted Jacen to his feet. He slid Jacen's arm behind his head to support him. Then they turned around and headed down the hill.

At the base of the hill, they turned and headed deeper into the forest. The place he had in mind for them to go was not much more than 4oo yards from the base of the hill. They reached it in no time.

His camp was still set up and hadn't been bothered. He walked Jacen over and set him down slowly on the ground next to one of the tent's.

"Rest. I'll be back."

He walked off into the forest without saying anything else.

I watched as Kam walked back into the forest. I sat up and tried to think about all that was happening, because, weither I liked it or not, it was all happening way too fast for me to process. I let out a sigh, and then I laid back down onto the ground, and looked up at the sky. Night was begining to fall, though, on Hapes it is never really that dark anyways.

You're an idiot, Jace.

I let the thought bounce through my mind as I awaited the return of Kamon.

It is folly to think the way you are...not going to happen.

Kamon had not gone far. He gathered some firewood for a fire and was heading back. He stopped a few yards away from the camp. He could hear them coming.

He hadn't planned on them coming this fast. Oh well, it would have to do. He moved to where he could see as he watched the villagers slowly filter into the camp.

He had had a reaosn for showing his lightsaber around as they walked through the city. He knew the people of Hapes hated the Jedi. Especially after the centerpoint incident.

He had planned on it being Jacen's first test. It would have to come early and quick. Kamon wouldn't let any harm come to Jacen but he didn't want to interfere.

He leaned against a tree and watched as the hapan civilians surrounded Jacen.

The beautiful men and women of Hapes surrounded me in the little camp. They were not speaking very kindly, anger, and a strong discord was playing through the crowd. I took a breath, and mentally slapped myself for forgetting about the Hapn/Jedi bias.

"Get out of here, Jedi. We don't want no trouble."

"Yeah, you're all the same. Big, bad, and like to cause innocent people trouble."

I knew that this was going to be the main thought through all of them, and it was not something that I was liking very much. there was no way for me to use mind tricks on all of them, and I couldn't kill any of them just for what they believed. I shook my head, and started to speak,

"Listen, I am only here--"

"Shut up!"

So much for talking my way out of it. I hope you like this Kam...

I took an involuntary step backwards, and closed my eyes. I felt the villagers, and I felt Kam not too far off. Must be nice. I shook away the bittersweet thought, and then continued with my plan. I had to act fast, or this was going to be the end of my long road of Force using. I heard them continue their banter and snide comments. I felt the click of the mind I was looking for.

Deep in the forest, a loud roar breathed through the mighty trees. In the falling twilight it bounced off the trunks of the trees, and resonated in their ears. Another growl escaped the forest, threatening, and mancing. The minds I had touched where of a preditory species, a dangerous one at that.

The Hapan villiagers turned tails, and ran back towards the edge of the forest, away from the dangers that came with the night. I let out a sigh of reflief, and fell to the ground, exhusted. I thanked the beasts through my Animal Affinty bond, and then called out.

"You can came back now."
