I wouldn't blame the Canadians for being worried really.
Nor any other country for that matter, but for those of you who do wonder why everyone (other than America) seem to be interested in your country , it is because you are the worlds foremost superpower.
As a result, generally, what happens on Capitol Hill, will more than likely effect the entire world in some way form or another, whether it be due to economic policy or defense.
This , (rightly or wrongly) , comes with the territory of being top of the pile.
I would say that, though it's not obvious, there are probably a great many people in DC who are very, very interested in the goings on in Canada. It does compose the entirety of our northern border.
Science is taking all the evidence available at the time and forming a theory. Sometimes, more information becomes available, and the theory is changed accordingly.
Creationism is taking a theory and ignoring the evidence that doesn't agree with it, and sometimes even creating some evidence. To even suggest changing the theory is heresy.
Evolutionism evolves at an incredibly rapid rate, changing dramatically as every piece of new evidence is found, which has more than once led to completely incorrect assumptions (Piltdown man, Nebraska man, Cro Magnon man, anyone?).
Creationism puts new evidence on hold until it is understood fully, or fits correctly. Admittedly, we do have a preconceived notion of roughly how things work, but it would be difficult to claim that your run-of-the-mill evolutionist doesn't have the same thought restrictions as well.
We say God created the universe and everything in it. You say the universe exploded from nothing. We say there is a distinct hand of a supernatural Designer everywhere, you say everything evolved from a pool of slime over billions of years.
I believe God created everything.
Evolutionists believe everything created itself over huge amounts of time.
I wish my van were either God created or would steadily progress into a better car. :(
Both are theories of how everything works. Neither is science, both require a certain amount of blind faith to accept fully.
im drunk but here goes. for the last motherfuckin time can we PLEASE put this creationism as science shit to resyt. It is not science to anyone but the christian community. it wasnt even science to the people who wrote the goddamn bible, and this horseshit fundamentalist revisionist theory that you subscribe to kas is just dangerous. you are trying to make mythical bits of your religion into logical ideas. if youd asked the folks who wrote the bible about the sicentific improbabilities of their ideas they wouldve looked at you funny because viewing religion as absolut concrete fact instead of the interpreticve mythos it is is not traditionalsm. just the same as if youd asked an ancient greek about how bloody impossible all of his ridiculous ass gods were he wouldve wondered what the hell you meant. mythos, fact and doctrine are different things.
it was the same fuckin shit during the renaissance. people who think societ yis changing too fast decid the only way that science and society can be kept in line with the religous status quo is by completely swinging to the other direction. galileo says the universe is helio centric and they lock him up in his house cuz everyone's scared all of a sudden. but in every instacne kas interpreting religion as fact and trying to legistlate it has led to the most bullshit ridiculous doctrines and denials of the obvious truth in history. its all right there in history kas and if you cant see the parallels you are blind and deaf as well as deluded
