This is too fucking ridiculous. I'm not following politics anymore. If I don't know what is going on, like 95% of the rest of the country, maybe I won't feel be so sickened. I am going to become a blind follower, change to republican, start going to church again, and support our wonderful president. Because I am incapable of independent thought. I will be told exactly how to think, and once I've memorized my bible verses I can assimilate into a hive of a hundred million happy people who all think precisely the same way. I will allow myself to be brainwashed by the media and corporate America. I will suck the dick of everyone that I am told is better than me, because that is what a good little American does.

I am afraid for my own life.

I wish I could do that. Just put on some blinders and be ignorant.

Kas, cool that you voted Libertarian. I would have if I didn't really want Bush out.

Actually, I did that a few months ago. I stopped reading the news, stopped watching TV, stopped reading political debates on forums... I had been previously been suffering from frequent bouts of some sort of weird cross between the blues and a violent stomach ache.

As soon as I gave up hope, I felt a lot better. ;)

Me mum would have voted Constitutional, but she was doing "strategy". Meh, even though the other seven parties on the ballot had no chance of winning, I don't think it's right to not vote for them simply because they have no chance, after all, the more votes they get the bigger campaign they may launch next time around.

It's not that they're not voting for them because they have no chance, it's because everyone knew it was going to be close and voting for Switzerland in the Germany/Canada election would have been as good as a thrown away vote and a nod for the impending fascist regime.

Any "third party" candidate has to get a certain number of votes to be able to get money to campaign the next time around. This time I felt that getting Bush out was more important than the election 4 years from now.
