The article was written in 2000, the last year of Bush's tenure as governor of Texas.

- I was a cheerleader.

Ok so what the hell is wrong with that? There were a lot of male cheerleaders back in the day. What is this guy racist against cheerleaders?

- I ran for U.S. Congress and lost.

Which proves that he doesn't rig his elections. And that he doesn't give up after a defeat.

- With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father’s appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.

Wah Wah Wah Wah Wah. The fact is, the vote came down to the issue of Ohio, not Florida deciding the election. And if this is about the 2000 election, if you will recall, it was the Democrats that messed up the polling, hiding or choosing not to count hundreds of Republican votes in SE Florida.

- I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.

Again, I don't see what the biggie is here. You make mistakes, and you learn from them.

- I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history
of the United States government.

That's actually a plus. He took a bunch of small ineffectuial agencies and merged them into a somewhat less ineffectuial agency.

And I can tell you one good thing about his presidency. I don't think our Stock Market has ever seen better times. And even if it does annoy people with some of the delays, our country is a lot safer than pre-9/11.

No. The President of the United States should not have a criminal record. He should not have broken any sort of law. Your manager at McDonalds can have a criminal record, but not the leader of a nation.

How because it makes all other federal agencies have to go through the Homeland Security? It's a massive waste of federal funding.

How do you even know? Because Bush's cabinet says so? They also said they can't be sure how many sleeper cells are in the country. Have you stopped to think about the costs? Phone calls and bank accounts being monitored and hundreds of US citizens of arabic descent being watched and arrested at airports for suspicion.

All in all he's a terrible leader and a moron. As Beff mentioned above, the leader of your nation should be the example for the people to follow. His approval rating is in the toliet, we've spent more money on this stupid war than any other war in US history/ And it has cost the lives of 3000 American soldiers and over 100,000 Iraqi civilians.

Any person with a perfect criminal record can also be a perfect moron, or in other words, has never screwed up, and wouldn't know how to react when he inevitably screws something up as president.

Versus agencies fighting and bickering between one another instead of relying on a single agency to help cooperate their efforts and save money?

Those are usually the facts of war. Racial profiling is gay, but largely unavoidable, as we have seen in past wars. While there may be many sleeper cells still sitting idly by in our country, it is a safe bet that no new cells have been inserted into the country as a result of the much increased security. As for monetary costs, well, I would rather spend then to be killed or lose loved ones. But that's just me.

Sometimes you have to do what's right for your country, no matter what other people will think of you as a result. Our nation may have experienced some recent worst of times, but it has also seen the best of times. As I have stated previously, our economy is at an all time high, and gas prices have broken the steady rising trend and fallen sharpley to compare with ten years ago. The people may not be happy with the ongoing security measures, but it is better to be safe than happy.

As the age of high tech becomes more dominant, so will the cost of war increase. And helping a nation rebuild is not cheap. As for this "stupid" war, as circumstances show, this war is very necessary, as Al-Qaida has largely taken it's crosshairs off the outside world and focused them instead on our "offending" presence in the Middle East. If our troops weren't over there, they would be over here. Perhaps you would enjoy seeing 100,000 American civilians dead and a greater reason to hate Bush, but not I. As for 3,000 soldiers dead, over about a three year period, hell, this is light for invading a country. We've suffered far worst in Korea and Vietnam.

And BTW, Bush isn't the first president to invade a Soveriegn nation. Remember Ronald Reagen, and the Grenada Invasion in 1983?

What about when Canada burned down the White House?
