Everyone has things that they don't approve of and that's fine, so long as you don't force your beliefs on other people - which I'm not saying you are, but rather commending you for doing otherwise.

Ok. I wasn't quite sure whether or not you were being sarcastic with that previous post.

I try convert people because I believe they are drowning, and I have a life raft. If, after I through you the life raft you refuse it, I will back off. Occasionally I may motion toward the life raft, or make mention to it, but if you're not remotely interested in getting on, I'm not going to pull out a shotgun and make you get on.

Ok, fair enough. Mostly, I don't like people saying however that homosexuality shouldn't be allowed, or those who are homosexual should be forced to change, or that homosexuals should be discriminated against in some way. I guess if you don't approve it and just debate against it (unlike some whom I've met, who would feel prepared to indeed use that shotgun) then thats' ok. I don't approve of some things too, and I debate against them, but I wouldn't say they should be banned.

So until you become a Christian, while I will explain my beliefs, and debate should you want it, I won't try un-gay you for religious reasons before I un-heathen you.

I'm fine with people (read: Christians) having it in for homosexuality.

grr... I'm a christian and i DONT have it in for homosexuality.

Kas, I AM a christian, and i DONT like you thinking that your conservative catholocism is "christianity".

And you CAN'T "un-gay" somebody! And WHY do you think it is somehow evil to be homosexual? Please explain?

Of course, i also agree that you shouldent force your views on anybody. And i wont pull a shot-gun on you. (I'm a pacifist :) )

Aside from "catholocism" not being a word, Milkshake has never really understood the difference between Catholicism and protestantism. Namely he thinks that protestant Christianity -- or at least his brand of it -- is the "liberal" wing of Christianity. Unfortunately, there is no liberal wing of Christianity.

Milky, I hate to break it to you, but if you are of a religion that is centered around the bible, then, unfortunately, homosexuality is pretty much bad, bad, bad... Of course, in the same breath it also calls down the evils of sex outside of marriage, idolatry and adultery which, for some reason does not generate such a controversy as homosexuality. Go figure.

And that is what really annoys me about people. They rant and rave that the government should not interfere with religion and yet religious topics (such as homosexuality) center in political agendas. I mean, WTF?

A situation where a Senator calls down evil on homosexuals but commits adultery himself undermines the very 'religious' beliefs he shouts out (assuming he is claiming to be a christian).

And that hypocrisy, in my mind, is just plain stupid. It's like anti-abortionists killing doctors.

If, however, your religious beliefs are not based on the bible but some other religious book where god and gays live happily, then carry on my good man.

lol...

Personally, how a person lives their life is their choice. In the end, it's not us that proves or disproves the validity of the beliefs we hold dear anyway. It'll be time.

Will it be a scientific evolutionary utopia?
Will we grow wings and fly up in a rapture?
Will a god destroy the earth?
Will a god transform the earth into utopia?

or the same old same old... with more young teenage wankers in the year 2056 debating on TRF how antiquated our beliefs now were?

(or, if on TGC, wondering how many keys are on their keychains)...

This is why i shouldent get involved in discussions like this over the internet. I mean, I'm a horrible arguer, and even if i was the most eloquent person in the world it wouldent matter.

I'm pretty sure my parents really woulden't want me to be in this conversasion (it sounds stupid, but its the truth), so I think I'll withdraw before you guys make me cry.

For the record, I'm completely against sex before marige, and if someone would show me where the bible says that homosexuality is bad... well, they couldent, because they'd be taking things out of context.

Read some of these, maybe you'll understand a bit more about my religion.

Mostly, i just want gash to understand that there IS a liberal branch of christianity, despite how cruddy i may be at describing it.

-Peace

I'd like to thank Rogue Steiner, conservative clown, for being such excellent fodder. I mean, he's basically a walking joke. So for this, I salute you. Here's a little picture I made in your honor. Feel free to use it, as I owe you that after all the amusement you have provided me.

Hahah.. That's how it is across most of America. Elections just don't rank up there with such classics as Scare Tactics, Pimp my Ride, or Greed.
