My laptop's screen died. I'm sure it's the inverter, which is going to cost me money when I really don't have money. I've got the system hooked up to an external monitor now, and I'm going to start backing up the entire HD to another HD just in case I get really lucky and Gateway decides to repair it for me for free.
If they don't, I'll be delving into the machine myself. Shouldn't be too hard.
Anyhow, yeah. Didn't make me too happy to pick it up off the couch after checking the microwave, and only see a dead screen where once had run a bright, lively and happy mouse pointer.

I have a gateway laptop as well! I've noticed that when I move it around sometimes the screen light dies completely. I just have to turn off the screen and back on though to fix it.
Actually, funny story, I bought my gateway laptop in like 2000 and sent it in like three times for this problem where the computer stops recieving power. On the fourth time, they gave me an entirely new computer- and of a better type (a recent 2004 model). :D

Dell sucks worse. I'd rather have an Acer, really. Or a Lenovo.
