Description:
Designed to be a powerful, profitable warship for sale by shipbuilding subsidaries of Belgardi Ltd, the Punisher pocket cruiser was desinged primarily for planetary defense fleets, and governments in the market to upgrade planetary millitias with newer technology. The Punisher Pocket cruiser, a small, yet deadly vessel, packs a punch to deal with medium sized strike vessels- mixing advanced sheilds, heavy armor and a large compliment of weapons for maximium efficency.
The vessel however, lacks any anti-fighter capacity, or fighter docking capacity, and is vunerable to runs from heavy bombers or even superority fighters. Usually used in conjunction with close range fighters launched from space stations or a planet's surface, the Punisher is best used in small groups to defend important assets- if it ventures forward to attack it's likley to be hounded by snubfighter which it cannot fend off.
Since the vessel lacks a hyperdrive, when sold it must be either placed in a larger ship for transport, or a hyperspace boost ring must be attached. This ring has is reusable, however it drains considerable power from the Punisher, rendering it completlly helpless while attached to such a ring. The attachment process itself takes considerable lengths of time, and requires a similar amount of time to be removed. Due to the this hassle, most booster rings are destroyed after their first placement use.
Tightbeam Rentenna: The large lower off shoot of the punisher is a communications section, whose main purpose is to power a tightbeam rentenna. The rentenna uses a tiny, fixed, short range transmitter, which can communicate with other tighbeam rentenna's through even the most powerful jamming. Not designed for long range communications, and non compatible with other forms of communication, the renteena is primarily used for ship to ship communication between Punisher cruisers in heavy jamming.

Additional Features:
*Tightbeam Rentenna
* Laser Gattlings
* Deceiver Shield Masker
Tightbeam Rentenna: A technology first implemented on the Punsiher Pocket Cruiser, the rentenna uses a tiny, fixed, short range transmitter, which can communicate with other tighbeam rentenna's through even the most powerful jamming. Heavily encrypted, it can send sensitive mssages without fear of being eavsedropped upon. Not designed for long range communications, and non compatible with other forms of communication, the rentenna is primarily used for ship to ship communication between cruisers in heavy jamming.
Laser Gattlings: A cylindrical formation of 5 barrels that sit on a slightly overpowered traditional laser cannon, the laser gattling is a close defense weapon that can be used against both starfighters and missiles. The cylinder of barrels rotates at extremly high speeds, splitting, the laser bolts into a multitude of bolts, though at only a fraction of the power. Laser gattlings are often used to through up waves of "flak" to shield certain areas of the ship.
Deciever Shield Masker: A device created with the intention of confusing advanced targeting computers, the Deceiver generates a thin, uniform layer of energy over the ship's primary shields. This layer is thin enough that standard weapons fire passes unaffected through it- however, sensor emissions bounce off the masker, giving the Immolator a standard shield profile even if sections of the shield have been knocked out or reinforced with extra power.
Description:
Designed by Belgardi as a viable alternative to standard designs like those of the Galactic Empire, or New Republic- the Immolator is a medium to heavy cruiser, designed for the market of planetary govenrments wishing to distinguish themselves from major galactic powers. The Immolators were also designed to be compatible with Belgardi's other main product, the Punisher Pocket cruiser.

Design and Usage Parameters To act as a system patrol vessel in any capacity; to act as an anti-fighter platform in major combat actions.
Mission Overview
In defending a formation against fighters, both the aging Lancer-class Frigate of the Empire and the Dornier-class Gunship of the Republic have proven inadequate. Fighter technology continues to advance faster than that of ship-borne defenses, pushing these vessels into retirement.
As a result of inquiries, the weapons manufacturer Kruppx joined with Corellian Engineering Corporation to design a new aerial defense system and a ship to carry it into battle. The Rapier II meets the parameters set forth by military representatives as well as civil requirements.
The Rapier looks at first glance like an oversized and retrofitted Corellian CR90 Corvette, but is much deadlier and faster! Sixty percent of all reactor energy feeds three CEC experimental drive engines, giving the ship an excellent sublight speed faster than ships smaller in comparison. Without enlarging the hull, power had to be taken from hyperdrive motivators: the finished product was a sluggish ship in hyperspace and racing-warship in sublight.
Regarding the weaponry; a small number of conventional armaments have been emplaced on the bow and aft quarters for action in the two points the primary guns cannot target. The primary guns are located on the central spar between aft and fore. Each turret has a 180-degree elevation/depression angle as the turrets are located between two bars fixed to the hull allowing a great field of fire. The guns themselves can move laterally 45-degrees left or right of center. Emplaced are two (2-gun) heavy turbolaser turrets, six Firestorm systems, and two ion cannon. The array of weapons allow it to engage a ship near-twice its size and could expect victory from any ship equal in its class: Carrack-class Cruisers, Nebulon B-1, B2, or C Frigates, Interdictors or early-model Mon Calamari frigates.
The central weapons are completely unmanned in the typical sense. In the central-spar gun turrets, there are no gunners. However, before the spar and immediately after are fire control centers where all gun action is handled. Each individual weapon has a team monitoring its systems: barrel temperature, rotation speed, electronic equipment, power settings, et al. In addition to these monitoring teams are two gunners themselves (per turret) who target the weapons either at their own discretion or on orders from the bridge. The bow FCC operates starboard guns, aft controls port guns.
OOC – Component Explanation
Firestorm Quad-lasers – A battery of rapid-fire lasers that fire bolts ½ the strength of standard quadlasers. The reduced power expenditure allows a greater volume to be moved through the cooling chambers: less energy per shot, slower heat increase. Coupled with the free-elevation/depression design, the guns can eliminate fighters faster and more efficiently than any weapon of the day. ( standard quads, gatlings, missiles)
Sublight Speed – Engine power has been reduced in hyperspace to give her an exploitable disadvantage.
Blade-class Fighter – small craft (like Dooku’s escorts in AOTC) used for reconnaissance or extended patrol duties. It is armed with a pair of linked light blasters – not a combat vessel. It has no shields and light armor. Only a few energy-based hits could be withstood, missiles would kill it.
Build Time
Since I have included several new ideas in this as well as a fighter, there must be additional build time than simple length. I propose:
(Measured as Meters=Time)
Length – 300m
Weapons – 100m
Fighter-5m
Engines – 45m
All told it would have to be built as would a 450m craft. This would be so we cannot get so powerful a craft for so easy a fee as a 350m Carrack that is considerably less capable.
Also, given that this additional time is being taken to build it, she can eliminate a significant number more fighters than any other craft currently in service.

Stealth Package Explained
To remove audio tracking, white noise generators are located between the double hull, as well as sound foam.
The Dreamweaver engines, which are already fairly stealth, have an additional cooling/dispersal fitting attached to them to remove all traces of the craft’s engines from the heat spectrum and anything that can detect exhaust.
The hull in energized with a static-electricity and a static dampening field (which uses complex electrical signals) is projected in front of the armor. The armor has nano-grooves, which scatter and absorb any sensors that manage to penetrate.
Mirrored armour to reflect starscape (simply polished black carbon fiber) - changed original chameleon armour.
Active-scanner nodes are placed all over the hull, they use
an electro-magnetic stabilizer to lace the signal’s area that touches the cloaking protection, enabling the sensors to penetrate. The nodes are covered in all forms of active-scanners.
Passive scanners are placed at the fore and mid of the
ship, using sound sweepers (sonar), heat sensors, alternate spectrum analyzers, emission detectors, etc to detect opponents.
Technical Information
Optical Communication unit
Uses lasers to communicate, works by Line of Sight.
Veneration Architecture
VA uses repeated triangular patterns and braces within the dual hulling to reinforce the armor and make it so problem sections can be cut off easily and remotely.
Guild-class Bridge
The Guild-class Bridge is a step up from the old style Imperial bridges. The bridge runs the most modern systems and has escape pods located in the aft section along with emergency stairs and a turbolift.
Ion Generator
Standard Ion Generator with more sophisticated energy collection units.
Plasma Lace Module (Energy Weapons)
A module is set in the barrel of the cannon; it feeds off the waste emissions of the weapon, lowering the waste heat caused by the cannon, and superheats and magnetizes them. The beam is set with a polar magnetisms which attracts the plasma, which lines the module, as the beam fires, the plasma lines on the head of the energy beam and continues on towards its target. To cool the system Crystal cooling is used.
Note: This plasma lace module is more directly associated with keeping A. the weapons heating from becoming detectable to enemy sensors and B. providing an outlet for energy waste to be distributed and recycled to another system (ie: shielding) or used on the same system. This efficient system provides less of an energy drain on the engines.
Typical energy weapon stats apply for this weapon.
Vacuum Cooling
Standard capital ship vacuum cooling exposes heated areas of a ship to controlled vaccum to instantly cool the vessel to operable levels.
Plasma Lace Module (Shielding)
Waste from the shield generators are routed to and projected around the shield, providing superior stopping against projectile weaponry and stopping weapons that usually can pass through an average shield. The plasma is regulated and can be turned on or off. To cool the system Crystal cooling is used.
Note: This plasma lace module is more directly associated with keeping providing an outlet for energy waste to be distributed and recycled to another system (ie: weapons) or used on the same system. This efficient system provides less of an energy drain on the engines and allows for quicker shield repair by having recycled energy readily available.
Typical energy shield stats apply for these shields.
Mini-tachyon Detection Grid
A smaller version of the popular Tachyon Detection Grid. This unit has less of a range.
Quantum Physics Processor
The Quantum Physics Processor uses nano-laser pathways to transmit information to the ships systems, it also uses multi-area processing through quantafoam, allowing almost instant, if not instant, processing of any data.
Power Compensator
The PC automatically adjusts power to systems, allowing the pilot to concentrate on piloting.
Dreamweaver Ion Assault Engine
The Dreamweaver is a highly modified Ion Engine. This unit has almost no tachyon or waste emissions, making it harder to track this ship. Vectoring technology has been improved, enabling superior maneuverability, as well as the powerhouse being modified to have higher output. The Dreamweaver comes equipped with higher-output boosters which produce more thrust per unit of energy than any other engine being designed. This unit is extremely small for its power output and handles energy at the most efficient level, using micro-processors to control miniature manipulations all over the engine.
Shield Compensator
AI imbedded in a ship’s deflector shield generator that links to a ship’s sensors enabling it to automatically angle the shields to oncoming fire or allot shield coverage to areas in need.
Note: Rather than have astromechs compiling the data from shield sensors to allocate shield coverage due to the size of the Shroud, a stationary positronic brain embedded into the shield generator core is required.
The reduces the human factor for faster allocation though there are overrides should the AI become damaged.
Subspace/Real space Communication Inhibiter (SRCI)
The SRCI is a ‘jammer’ capable of jamming all standard forms of communication. The device releases waves that inhibit other waves used by other craft to send signals, disrupting and destroying them. This will affect all ships not equipped with an alternate form of close or long range communications. The Shroud itself uses a laser Line of Sight communications system.
Note: Due to the size of the warship and energy output of ship, only small localized jamming is possible. (IE: Shrouds are not able to blanket an entire star system with jamming).
Carbon Fiber Construction
It is possible to make threads of pure carbon. However, it is well known that thread isn't a preferable material for making ships and vehicles, along with almost everything else. However, by mixing the strength for the carbon fibers with the durability of artificial resin and heating it, it is possible to produce a metal lighter and stronger than durasteel.
By passing acrylic threads through stripping machines time and time again, you get spools full of pure carbon thread. Arranging the threads in interlocking patterns, most likely figure-eight knotted, on a sheet woven of carbon threads. Pour resin onto the sheet, and lay another sheet over the mix. Put it in a super-heated oven, and when it comes out, you have a sheet of strong, light, and not so difficult to create metal, preferably thin so it's possible to give it a honeycomb pattern.
Note: This is merely a construction detail for the carbon fiber fabrication of the Shroud. Actual increases in hull ratings against comparable, traditionally constructed warships cannot be made unless the Shroud’s size was increased.
So while construction does not overall increase the Shroud’s hull rating, its specialized construction does work for the ship’s design and function, namely a stealth warship. Carbon Fiber Construction eliminates the possibility of armor debris flaking off when a Shroud is damaged thus revealing its location. At most, damage is shown against the hull as a “fraying” of sorts and not the large “chunks” or “gouges” that appear with typical durasteel plating.
Shield Occultation
On notification of scanning the DOS releases a directed static energy burst aimed towards the origin of the scanning. (Shields become unstable during use and flicker on and off)
Occult Weapons
The weapons are hidden within the ships armor and jut out, movement guided and controlled by high-powered magnets and hydraulics, the weapons move out of the armor and fire, moving back in the armor while the weapon recharges, then proceeds to jump out and fire again. The Occult Weapons also have a lower profile, basically they are barrels, due to all systems (targeting, generators, etc) being located beneath the armor. Weapon types: Turbolaser, Missiles
Occult v2
(Mass Cannons, Turbolasers, Ion Cannons, Plasma Cannons, Missile, Torps, Bombs, and more)
More powerful hydraulics linked to gravity generators push and pull the weapon at a faster speed, the linkage of the computers is designed into a fire system allowing complete control from the main computer or firing computer via a optical information linkage set aside from the main backbone. Has backup targeting for slow connection times or disconnects. Secondary link runs from gun-to-gun and can act as backup while main is being restored. The system is redundant.
Turbolaser v2: Standard Turbolaser (v2 a construction term).
Ion v2: Standard Ion (v2 a construction term).
Phalanx Anti-Missile Gatling Laser Network
A series of light, rapid-fire laser cannons designed specifically to track and destroy oncoming warheads. The network is linked to a targeting brain that feeds directly from the main computer for superior targeting information.
Note: Countermeasure function
Mirrored Armour
An form of stealth construction. Black Carbon Fiber hull is polished to allow for simple reflection of stellar bodies against hull surface. Polished surface said to resemble the smoothness of carbon glass though not transparent.
Additional Information
The Shroud was designed as a moderately armed vessel capable of deep penetration of enemy space for the purpose of gathering strategic intelligence. Much of the troop and cargo space was removed in favour of a bewildering array of the most advanced sensors available to the Empire. These ships are highly advanced listening and observation posts, capable of gathering and processing an enormous amount of data and transmitting it directly in real-time back to the Empire via hypercomm. Each and every crewman aboard must pass rigorous tests to be considered for the duty, and some intelligence/ counterintelligence background is preferred in its personnel. Great lengths were gone to make this vessel as stealthy as possible; the most advanced cloaking device available was mounted. All power systems were shielded to prevent stray energy releases that might register on hostile detection equipment. The engines were modified to disperse and "baffle" their ion signature completely, and the hyperdrive is of an advanced design that eliminate the telltale gravitic and radiation bursts that accompany a hyperspace exit. Stealth coating on the hull itself simply adds to this array of anti-detection wizardry. Even when "running hot" and de-cloaked, the ship is difficult for enemy sensors to detect at long ranges; when fully cloaked and shut down in "stealth mode", it can simply vanish.
