When Conflicts Come to An End

*the holovid changes to that of an anchor standing several feet before Emperor Fearsons and what appears to be the leader of the Mon Cal Republic. They are standing over a table, honor guards from both sides surrounding them territorialy. The tension is not what one would expect, if anything there is a depressed air about Teebo, and somewhat of one about Emperor Fearsons*

Greetings all *the news anchor began* I am Dark Quickstar here to report a breaking news bulletin that affects the galaxy as we know it.

After the Jutraalian fleet routed the Mon Cal Republic at Esseles and the threat was indicated that the Jutraalian Empire would next strike at the heart of the Mon Cals, right at the capital of Calamari. Knowing the emperor to not be bluffing - especially after the First Mon Cal-Jutraalian War - and indicating his official apology for the lives lost in Elian Toritho's battle of vendetta against the empire.

The treaty is expected to change life as we know it - at least for the time.

The treaty is as follows:

All planets save for Calamari (Mon Calamari) are to be turned over to the Jutraalian Empire.

All military assets save a home defense fleet shall be turned over to the Jutraalian Empire.

The Jutraalian Empire shall remove any soldiers from Mon Cal space.

The Jutraalian Empire will reopen all forms of commerce with the Mon Calamari Republic.

The Jutraalian Empire will not enter specific Mon Cal locations with military force, with the exception of safety patrols by Jutraalian Garrison Fleets. Should a hazardous situation come to, more ships may be called in.

The Jutraailan Empire will leave Mon Cal affairs to the Mon Cal.

The Jutraalian Empire will defend Mon Calamari with the ferocity of a mother grizzly from outsiders.

The Mon Cal Republic shall never lift a weapon against the Jutraalian Empire in an attempt to harm it.

Mon Cal Republic military ships shall not enter Jutraalian military or public zones.

*the news anchor looks back just as Teebo and Fearsons nod, and the emperor leans down and places his signature on the flimsiplast before looking up at the Mon Cal.*

Just sign this and it's all over my friend *he told him*

Teeo reached over and placed his sginature on the flimsiplast as well. He was glad, knowing that he had just ended a long and bitter war with the Jutraalian Empire. They had been fighting for a long time, and the loss of life on both sides was tremendously high. And now there was peace.
He nodded to Fearsons. "It's all over."

A laudable treaty.

But when Teebo says "It's all over", I am inclined not to believe it.

OOC:

Why does this sound to me like a stupid OOC agreement for the MCR to surrender all its planets but one to TJE?

Why does this sound to me like you all are trying to cheat the system?

Why should the staff allow this action?

(OOC:Well, this kind of surrender is historically typical.

ww1 saw Germany surrender all colonies, despite the fact that in Africa they were kicking the allies asses.

I'm surprised you even contest that...)

OOC:

When did I say I contest that?

*reads his post again*

Why I find this unlikely is because, what... ONE battle between TJE and MCR has taken place in the past 3 months, and that one, even, was not initially directed at MCR.

This came out of nowhere and is too one-sided for me to believe everything is as it seems.

(Actually there was one direct conflict plus about half their fleet just became on the repair list so I'd think they would be scared. )

OOC

TJE recently fought them off at Esseles and I THINK they helped at Chandrila. I know that MCR also attacked Ylesia and Nal Hutta and were being forced from them as well.

OOC: 80 or so ships about of a 200-250 ship fleet is a good size.
