<font size=4>Lies, Lies, Lies
Tholatin Republic looses shirt over false claims</font>
Commentray by Marcus Lodd.
Another INN reporter transmitted a copy of their resignation to be desk this morning, with a note attatched telling me that I should share the information with the rest of the galaxy.
It seems that this reporter, whose name is being kept a secret for fear of Tholatin reprisal, is one of many with a growing concern over the lies coming daily from the Tholatin government.
In their latest release, the INN has 'recovered' a 'terrorist flag' from the downed freighter that destroyed a large portion of Tholatin's surface earlier this week. Jerik Somir, it seems, cannot let even the pilots who were tragically killed by his government rest - he must no insult their memory by attributing items to them which they did not own, and which could not possibly have been retrieved from the wreckage.
A freighter like the one that was shot down carries a YTK44 Reactor, which puts out in excess of ten trillion volts of energy. When these reactors explode, as the freighter's did, they superheat everything within six hundred meters to many millions of degrees - literally incinerating anything within this radius.
Human flesh and synthetic cloths are vaporized instantly, reduced to their component atoms in less than a second. It is a physical impossibility for anything (or anyone) in the freighter when it exploded to have survived the blast.
That three bodies were found of the seven thousand killed is a remarkable fact in itself - the explosion of the downed freighter was more than enough to incinerate nearly everyone within its blast radius.
What concerns me most about the situation, though, is that the Tholatin Republic continues to cover the situation with more lies and deciet. No apology has been offered to any of the thousands who were killed, nor to their families, or to those who lost their homes and businesses. No apology to the families of the freighter pilots, who do not (thanks to the actions of the 'Republic') even have a body to bury.
Only claims that the building was empty. I guess all the buildings in that two-kilometre blast radius were empty, too? It is one thing for a government to slaughter its own people needlessly.
It is something else entirely for them to lie about it, and even to go so far as to admit that it was their fault, but do nothing about it.
During the rise of the Holy Demosthesian Empire, Bhindi Drayson once accused the Tholatin Republic of being, in truth, an Empire.
I believe the term 'terrorist' to be a much more accurate description of that body.
Good night.

Data Transmission Found
Proof of outside contact
By: Jerik Somir
Today it was discovered that just before the attack concerning one of the mountains just north of the Republic's capital a transmission was sent from deep space to the planet. Theencryption code was recognized as one belonging to none other than the Holy Demosthesian Empire. As it would seem, Ms. Drayson, a disgrace to the Drayson line, has been at her usual terrorist antics. When broken, the code gave the terrorist groups on the planet the command to kill. To kill innocent citizens of possible. Fortunately, none were killed.
The blast only destroyed a single building thanks to the smartness of the Republic in requesting that all buildings be double reinforced. Leave ti to the Empire to not think of something like that. Too bad. A waste of lives it was. The only thing that can be said about these pathetic excuses for lifeforms is that they were miserable failures in all sense of the word. The man that had been going through all the communications around the planet was one of those that agreed. And he was only a citizen working for Tholatin Control.
In other news, the Imperial news Service continues its broadcast of lies to you the populace. This time they chose to hide the fact that not everything is destroyed when a generator blows up.....

<font size=4>Tholatin leaders 'disgrace to Galactic image'
Even supporters of Tholatin government grow tired of lies</font>
THOLATIN: It is a sad day indeed when one government must belittle the lives of those they have killed in order to mantain face. And sadder even when the lies spread by that government are so transparent that even a blind monkey could see through them.
In the wake of th Tholatin Massacre, the leaders of the Tholatin Republic have released a series of news pieces (written by none other than Jerik Somir, a member of the infamous Somir Crime Family). In their latest attempt to discredit the INS, Somir has stated that a 'data transmission' was intercepted some days ago.
And we're only hearing about this now?
Inventing evidence to foce people to believe you ranks among the lowest of the forms of deciet known to this galaxy. Even assuming such a transmission did exist, would one really except it's creator (claimed by the Tholatin Republic to be Admiral Bhindi Drayson of the New Order) to be foolish enough to attatch her name?
I didn't think so.
After calling the Admiral a terrorist, Somir chose to call her a 'disgrace' to the Drayson line. Now, I may be taking a little to much leeway here, but... Wasn't it Bhindi Drayson who condemned the Tholatin Republic as being a despotic terrorist empire? Wasn't it Bhindi Drayson who spectacularly defeated the Tholatin Fleet at Omega-Prime and again at Carida? And wasn't it Bhindi Drayson who liberated the capital from the Republic without a single Imperial death?
It sounds to me like Mr. Somir is either inredibly jealous, or incredibly annoyed, and has no other way to attack Drayson than by sitting in front of his console and dishing out five-cent insults.
As I said, a sad sad day.
Similarly, Somir continues to cover up the deaths of seven thousand cilians in the destruction of over two sqaure kilometres of Tholatin's surface. Fortunately for the rest of the galaxy, vivid holographs of the planet's surface are far more telling than the lies of the INN. Stating that only one building was destroyed while images of dozens of structures collapsed play in the background is simply bad marketing on the part of Somir.
I am not a believer in religion or an almighty being, but for those of you that are, may the Lord bless those living and dead under Tholatin rule.
May liberation come on swift wings.

Speaking for the Galactic News Service as a whole, I would hope that any reporter who releases anything such as what I just witnessed from Jerik Somir is no longer employed with any news service.
Such a violent and childish display of temper is unbecoming of anyone - especcially a reporter such as Mr. Somir. I take offence on behalf of the galaxy's news services and demand that Jerik Somir be banished from the holonets.
Thank you.

<font size=4>Jerik Somir: Criminal or Reporter
Questions raised about Jerik Somir "the second" following recent outburst.</font>
Jerik Somir. It is a name many associate instantly with the Somir Crime Family - the monolithic group of criminals that did so much damage to our good galaxy in years past.
But Jerik Somir, now a reporter for the INN, denies any allegations that he is a criminal. Perhaps he is, as he claims, the criminal Jerik's son. Perhaps he is not.
But a most recent article, "uncensored", raises new questions about his true identidy. Among other comments, Somir says "I ought to blow your [censored] brains out!"
Something, I have no doubt, Jerik Somir is entirely capable and willing to do. The 'reporter' also invited further violence on Tholatin, saying "You want violence? Bring your pathetic Empire here and we'll show you what violence is all about."
Whether Jerik Somir is a criminal or a son with an unlucky name seems to me to be irrevelent. The man is clearly mentally and emotionally unstable, and not fit to present any sort of news - anywhere.

Respone by Jerik Somir II
Oh? And you are better suited to present your lies than I am my truths? I think not. Yes I blew up in that bit of commentary but I've had it with you people that call yourselves reporters not getting your facts straight. It's pathetic.
Look on the birth certificates on Coruscant where I was born. You'll see that I am who i say I am. And how could I be my father? I'm about twenty years younger. Not to mention he would have already gone to wherever it is you're hiding to attempt to kill you. Start making reports that actually have a bassis on fact and you may be able to hold some ground with the galactic populace.

The beauty of the holonet is that anyone can sign on and pretend to be whomever they wish. It is entirely possible that Jerik Somir "II" is indeed the reknowned criminal. I would go so far as to say it is likely, following many of his statements.
I find it ammusing that Jerik Somir - whoever he is beneath his holonet identify - can accuse the INS of telling lies while a gaping crater remains an evident part of Tholatin's landscape. That many people are dead is undeniable, despite what the INN may tell you.
It is for this reason that what credibility Jerik Somir, criminal or not, was lost long ago.
I would also like to express my disapointment with the INN that Mr. Somir is still employed with what is otherwise (for the most part) a fine and realiable news service.

Perhaps that is because this news service values inmdividuality and the right to free speech. Perhaps it is because we value Jerik Somir II for the fact that he is right and we know it. Perhaps it's because he stands up to the lies you present. We don't care as long as he does his job.
