Delayed Report

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen. I'm Jerik Somir of the Inter News Network with an update from Tholatin where a skirmish is being waged. I have the full and incomplete story for you.

"While the real reason behind this skirmish is under debate, some theories have surfaced. The most prminent being that th Tholatin Republic attacked Jon Trojan's people for no reason. However, the government says differently.

""I resent that rumor. It's clear from the sensors data that the missiles that started the skirmish did not originate from a TTR vessel." Radon Mont, Tholatinian senator for the Republic said. When asked about seeing the data, he had the following to say: "The data will not be available until after this is over. There's too much of a risk for us to hand it out that easily."

"Even from a non-military official, albeit he is a retired Admiral, these things are kept secret. Makes me think these Republicans run a tight program. Unfortunately, it's true. I couldn't even see the Prince to get a statement. The highest military official I could get was a Corporal Johnson of the Royal Phalanx Guard Corp

""I'm not at liberty to say anything to you except that the missiles seem to have come from cloaked vessels of unknown origin."

"So you see, rumors are only rumors. Apparently the evidence supports the latest rumor of cloaked vessels instigating the skirmish. Unfortunately we haven't that evidence available. But if you stay tuned we'll get that to you. FOr now I'm Jerik Somir coming to you from Tholatin. Have a safe evening."

MSA Addresses Criminal Media Activity

We find it repulsive to imagine such an element of society succumbing to the average corruption that seems to mar large portions of the galaxy. The Media is a trusted tool upon with the many persons of the galaxy rely to keep updated on events not only galactic, but also that which happens in their own back yards. Today marks a grim day for the Tholatin Republic, their name smeared by a known criminal, wanted in over 36 sectors for capital crimes. It is clear we cannot trust his words, mentions of cloaked ships and the like. Only a unsteady party would make such dangerous diagnosis... we would rather await the report of those present at the conflict then trust the brief of an extortionist, of unknown motivations.
We dread to imagine that the Tholatin people would willingly purchase such unsubstantiated information before first checking the credentials of the presenter. If so, then this is indeed a black mark for the Tholatin Republic. Already the Inter-News-Network has defaced themselves in the eyes of the galaxy.
But as all large powers know, the wars of Propaganda affect us all, a tool utilized by the lowest common denominator of society. It is an ill that can befall both the weak and the old in the galactic community. We hope for a swift resolution to this situation. No one likes the idea of a major galactic power consorting with known criminals of the harshest degree, and we hope beyond hope that this has not become the case of the supposedly Good and True, Tholatin Republic.
Already the people pof
The Mandalorian Sector Authority is declaring, from this state forward, a stance of zero-tolerance in regards to unsubstantiated slander. We are sure the galactic community feels the same.
Is the Tholatin Republic a sign of things to come?

INN Response

The referal to Jerik Somir II's father is a discriminating fact being used to discredit the truth around the skirmish at Tholatin. Mr. Somir's father is currently still at large in the galaxy and wanted as afore mentioned. However, the Jerik Somir reporting for us, if you hadn't noticed, is very much younger than the known crime lord.

"I resent being portrayed as my father. My father is an idiot, and a crime boss. I don't care if you discredit him, but if you discredit me I care. I am not my father."

Mr. Somir was very upset about being accused of his fathers crimes. Mr. Somir was hired because of his excellent reporting skills that were shown to us in his school years. He's only nineteen years of age and not old enough to be his thirty-something year old father. INN requests that the press responsible for the above release learn to gather facts before broadcasting false messages.

INN Flash

"In a cataclysmic end that can only be descirbed as spectacular and devastating at the same time, the skirmish at Tholatin has come to an end. commander of the convoy set to bring the Republic 20 new vessels of war was destroyed by one of their own ships. It appears the commander of the convoy, a man by the name of Jon Trojan, set his ship to self-destruct in an attempt to get back at the republic for the death of his family.

"In the process of rescuing the man, a team from the Republic was sent spiraling through space by the explosion of the capital ship by its own devices."

The picture cut to a spectacular scene of the explosion.

"The twenty vessels to be handed over to the Republic were destroyed as a result of this explosion. The shuttle manned by the Republic team was grabbed by an ISD from the fleet and hauled in. On the hangar bay deck, Jon Trojan was pronounced dead by a team of medical physicians. Nothing could be done to save him."

The shot cut back to the planet showing the RPGC moving through the streets.

"At the same time as the incidents happening in the space around the planet, terrorist cells have become active and are currently biting away at the morale of the people of Tholatin. Although it seems to be to no avail to the enemy. The people here are only strengthened in their resolve to fight the enemies of the galaxy."

""We will stop at nothing to take down the Empire and their minions. Take this, Empire, and heed our warning. We will not be deterred form our ways.""

"That was a local trader that had been going about his business when news of an explosion in the mountains caused by terrorists reached his ears. He cooperated fully with the RPGC when they moved in and form what we've seen, so have most of the rest of the populace. The RPGC is seeking out information on people suspected to be terrorists. If you have any information contact the INN.

"This has been an INN news flash with Jerik Somir. Good evening."

News Update

The hostilities on Tholatin have ceased as seemingly the last terrorist holdouts have been eliminated. As fighters streak through the sky, people feel safe once again. All of this it would seem is thanks to the Republic. But is that really so?

Yes they did use two fighters to take down a freightor that ignored orders to land. Yes they did elminate the terrorist cell in the mountains north of the capital. but what about the ArcTek building that was destroyed by the downed freighter? Shouldn't ArcTek take some of the credit? We spoke with an ArcTek official on the matter.

"Yes, of course. We deserve a little bit of the credit for taking down the terrorists. And the Republic has agreed to give it to us."

In the commentary debate between the Republics Iron Calahan and an unknown author from the Empire, the Empire accused the Republic for not taking into account the loss of ArcTek's building. Iron Calahan responded with a that's untrue statement and stated that the Republic offered to build them a new and better building. We asked the ArcTek official about this.

"Yes we did speak with them about it and they were more than willing to cooperate. They even offered to build us a new building. We accepted of course and formed a new contract with the Republic."

INN is a biased news group as most groups are. But even we see that the Republic is being demeaned falsely by the Empire. The question to the populace is whether or not they believe the Empire or the Republic. A reporter on Coruscant spoke to an Imperial citizen about the incident. This is what the woman said.

"Frankly I'm inclined to believe the Republic. Normally I would believe TNO's statement but the commentary by their reporter was absurd. Even I know the Republic would never destroy a building and not offer to assist in the rebuild."

So you see? Even some Imperial citizens feel the Republic is being falsely accused. You have the right to believe as you wish but if you believe the Empire ont his, you are incredibly stupid. Thank you for your time and good day.

Tholatin claims discredited;
'Republic' government blamed for catastrophe, thousands killed

THOLATIN: Thousands are dead and many more wounded, today, following a series of rash actions on the part of the Tholatin Republic. A convoy under the command of one Jon Trojan was assaulted within Tholatin's defensive perimiter in what is becoming widely known as the 'Trojan Massacre'. According to reports, as many as twenty CR90 Corellian Corvettes, also known as 'Rebel Blockade Runners' for their role in the Galactic Civil War, were destroyed after apparently being fired upon by Tholatin forces.

The government of Tholatin has, of course, denied all claims that they were to blame for the attacks. Radon Mont, Chief Counsul to Prince Kamon Vondiranch, said that "the missiles that started the skirmish did not originate from a TTR vessel". And while data from sensor units has not yet been made available to the general public, a lingering question remains: If the Tholatin fleet did not fire the first shots, who did?

Perhaps the 'mysterious forces' that certain members of the Republic had alluded to? These forces, that managed to penetrate Tholatin defences and stage an attack on civilian vessels?

Whether the Tholatin forces are covering up for their treachery, or the attack was staged by unknown forces, one thing is clear: the Tholatin government failed to protect its citizens.

"This sort of thing would never have happened in the Empire," said Captain Patton of the Bastion Conclave.

Following the destruction of Mr. Trojan's convoy, a series of attacks have taken place on the surface of Tholatin, as well. Most well known are the explosions in the Cor'la Mountain just North of the capital, where a sizable blast is said to have killed several Tholatin soldiers, and a freighter crash that levelled the ArcTek building in the capital city itself.

But unlike the Trojan Massacre, the treachery and deciet of the Tholatin government is instantly apparent in these cases. While thousands mourn the loss of loved ones in the attack that destroyed more than two sqaure kilometres of buildup, Tholatin officials and INN Reporter Jerik Somir seem more concerned with the material loss. Tholatin news releases have repeatedly claimed that the building was empty - information that was proven false by the thousands of reports recieved by INS following the announcement.

And, of course, the claim that this is a massive terrorist conspiracy directed at attacking ArcTek. As Somir himself said, "they did use two fighters to take down a freighter" [edited for spelling]; Tholatin forces shot down a civilian craft, and the pilots are directly responsible for an estimated seven thousand civilian casualties as a result.

INS inquired into the punishment for the pilots, but recieved no comment.

While pleased to see that INN admitted openly to being biased, the INS also feels the need to rebuke the rediculous claims made by that network. It is not a matter of people 'believing' the Empire (though the only comment made by the New Order thus far has been Captain Patton's, above), but of being presented with the truth. In fact, the Empire did not even enter the situation until Somir's statement.

One wonders about his preoccupation with the New Order!

There is no doubt in anyone's mind that the Tholatin Republic shot down a civilian freighter. That makes them directly responsible for the death and destruction raised by the attack.

There is, of course, no proof in the single comment attained by the INN citing the Empire as liars. It could very well have been (poorly) staged on Tholatin itself. Judging by the words themselves, it is nothing more than political propaganda put out by a decietful and biased news source: INN.

The simple fact of the matter is that the Tholatin Republic is responsible for the devestation. There is no way around the truth.

And the INS would wonder why the INN must resort to insulting its readers and viewers. Perhaps they're the stupid ones?

INS' LIES BROUGHT FORTH
Tholatin Republic Falsely Accused
By: Jerik Somir

Now we all know that the INS is affiliated with the Empire and is extremely biased in all of their opinions. They always have been and always will be. Just as INN will always be biased towards the Republic. But we ask you this: Who are you going to believe? Will you believe the news station that resides on Tholatin or the station residing in the empire whos reporters aren't even allowed on Tholatin?

That's correct. Because of the bias and lies of the INS, they have been banned from any Republic planet. Was the INS even at Tholatin during the debacle in space involving Jon Trojan and the Republic Fleet? No they were not. Do they have any idea what they are talking about? Absolutely not. And we're happy to say that the sensors data has been released to the public after being thoroughly gone over by Repubic officials. This data is available to anyone. It shows that the missiles instigating the hostilities between the two groups originates from above and behind the Tholatin fleet.

The only known way this could happen? Cloaked vessels. Yes you heard it sayed. There were cloaked vessels in the Tholatin system that day. Did the Republic fire on these cloaked vessels? Yes they did. Did they actually hit any of them? No. THey were firing blind. No targetting data will do that to you. As for the failure to protect their citizens, that's bullshit and the Empire knows it. Patton can believe what he likes but it would be rather simple for a few cloaked craft to do the same to the Empire.

It is because of the circumstances that all craft were destroyed. To Trojan and his men it appeared as if the Republic had fired on them. However, had they seen the data, they would be able to see otherwise. The Blockade Runners were destroyed when trojans flagship blew up beacause of a self destruction order. It was lucky it didn't blow up sooner. The Republic had troops on there rescuing any survivors as well as Trojan. Trojan died on the flight over from the vessel but twenty other crewmen were saved.

Onto the terrorist attacks on the planet. The more this unknown correspondent argues, the more TNO is taking the blame. He's pushing himself up against the wall of deceit and they are getting even harder and harder to believe. Only one soldier was killed when the freighter crashed into the building. Sure the debris caused minor injuries, most of which were caused by the inhalation of dust particles into the respiratory system. No other people were killed in the attack. We ask anyone, other than Imperial's and the INS, to come to Tholatin and see for yourself. If you did so you would see right through the INS lies.

The freighter mentioned as a civilian craft was in fact a civilian craft. However, they ignored direct orders from two Defense Force fighters and subsequently tried to evade the fighters. Let's think about this. 1. Ignore orders to land. 2. Evade Defense Force fighters. The solution to the equation? Terrorists. No one runs from a Defense Force fighter duo. If you do so you openly state you oppose the authority of the Tholatin government as stated in article 32, section C of the constitution of Tholatin. They gave up their rights to be let go when they disobeyed a direct order to land.

As for the bit about proof of the INS being liars. Were they there to see any of it? Nope. Do they have any substantial proof other than stories probably bought by citizens? Nope. Are they recognized for their bias towards the Republic in almost all matters? Yes. It's all up to you, the people, to make your choice on who you believe. And remember, you the populace have a larger say in government than the Prince. Good day.

Jerik Somir: Compulsive liar, or just stupid?
Recent releases by Jerik Somir of the INN have raised questions concerning his mental stability.

Commentary by Marcus Lodd.

I can't begin to fathom what is going on in the mind of Jerik Somir. When ones lies are so transparent as Somir's, one would except that he stop trying.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, it seems that Mr. Somir is unable to recognize his own idiocy when it is staring him in the face.

That being said, I offer my own thanks for his (second) admission that the INN is inrcredibly biased towards the Tholatin 'Republic'. But he goes on to tell people why INN is telling the truth...

Absolutely rediculous.

Quote:
Because of the bias and lies of the INS, they have been banned from any Republic planet.

The Tholatin government can say whatever they like about the INS, but this is only a too-late attempt to keep the citizens of our fair galaxy from learning the truth. If only the INN (which coincidentally is owned and operated by the 'Republic') is able to report from the planet, they can say whatever they like and make the rest of us believe it.

Quote:
And we're happy to say that the sensors data has been released to the public after being thoroughly gone over by Repubic officials.

No doubt being edited and tampered with very carefully in preperation for more lies. Give it three days, and the Tholatin 'Republic' will "discover" that the Empire played a part in the attacks!

Give me a break.

Quote:
The only known way this could happen? Cloaked vessels. Yes you heard it sayed. There were cloaked vessels in the Tholatin system that day.

Such convience. Cloaking fields, aside from being incredibly rare, are also known to cause double-blindess to their users. I would question the Tholatin government as to how cloaked warships managed to penetrate their security zone under that blindness.

Perhaps security is lacking more than I thought?

Somir's 'response' to the tragedy on the surface is not even worth responding to. Aside from disgracing the names of the seven thousand killed by Tholatin forces, he does nothing to contradict the INS except get up yell "You're wrong! Nanananana!"

The devestation on the surface of Tholatin - two or more sqaure kilometres of buildings completely destroyed and another five km of structural damage - is instantly visible from orbit.

Far from backing itself into a corner - Somir's lies can be discredited by stepping onto Tholatin and observing the fear of the population, the crater that was once many city blocks, and the debris that still litters the streets.

In closing, I simply love how, in the following of the Rogue Empire and the Trade Federation, P'rince' Vondiranch declares anyone who does not do exactly what he says a terrorist.

Good night.

Terrorist Flag Discovered
Evidence that downed Freighter was a Terrorist Vessel
By: Jerik Somir

The Republic's officials began digging into the wreckage of the ArcTek building today in order to exhume the bodies of the dead individuals. Three bodies were found among the rubble and were taken to lab for identification. One of them was a Royal Phalanx Guard Corp Seargent that had been clearing the building. The other two bodies, the ones flying the freighter, were identified as two high profil interplanetary terrorists.

The names of the two are undisclosed to the media at this point but the belongings of the two are different. The flag shown here was discovered on the co-pilots chair. It was only slightly burned in the fire wand was easy to identify as a terrorist flag. And if you look closely, you can even see the Imperial insgnia in the corner. We're sure they'll try and lie their way out of this but we do not care. We're just reporting.

More news as it happens. Good day.
