Chapter One
My home planet was a place of lies and deceit, corruption and fraud but still I could do nothing but wait in patience. Day after day, the corrupt government would pass laws which seemed inhumane to myself, yet to those people it was entertainment. My home planet was Xionti.
I wandered the streets one day, waiting for the moment when the people would rise up against the government, yet the day never seemed to come. They had turned a blind eye to the destruction that the government had caused across the lands. I felt helpless...
As the night drew near, I had a sudden urge to take out my sniper, yet I didn't know why I had this urge. I walked to the top of my home, laying the sniper in position towards the government building and luckily, there was the president of Xionti standing in the window with his back turned.
As I steadied myself for a shot, I realised that to overthrow the government, I need to kill not just the president but his council also. But as the thought ran through my head, the trigger suddenly flew back and released a shot straight into the back of the president's head.
As his council crowded around him, I knew that I must make another shot...Boom! Another shot rattled off my sniper into the heart of his adviser. I saw people run for their ships down at the bottom of the building and as they did so, I picked off smaller members of the government.
When I knew that the government was never to be again, I called to the people from the top of the building.
"People, you are free from the oppression! You are free from fear and you are free from the wickedness and greed the government has forced upon you! Now I tell you, make a government of our people, for your people, by the people!" I claimed and they all shouted cheers in unison as I ran towards my ship.
Yet as I was running I heard shots fired in my direction, the government guards were close on my tail. I slipped out my blaster and turned and took aim. There were roughly around 7 of them and I took one down with ease. I turned again and ran and ordered my ship to be ready. As I approached my ship, I dived onto the floor and began shooting at the bunch of guards, taking down 3 with 6 shots. As they slowed to help their friends, I climbed into my ship and flew off to my dream place, Astral Astoria.
Chapter 2
As my ship floated through the space, I sat in wonder at the stars and planets around me. I was so amazed at the power and the tranquillity of this space yet I was wary of the space pirates that circled the galaxy waiting for those who were weak and undefended. Of course, I was one who seemed undefended, yet beneath the cover of an escort cruiser lay a battle ship ready for a space battle.
Soon, I slowed to a halt to look at the planets ahead of me, yet I wondered why I had not been attacked yet. After the killing on my home planet, I was having an adrenaline rush and wished to kill again. Desperation overwhelmed me as I felt the reality sink in…
I had just killed 5 people, and I knew that I would kill more in my time. Those people were friends to my family, they were friends to my planet yet inside they were like the corrupt Sith Order that was encircling the universe. I had killed them and I knew that through my actions, the planet would be free. But I knew that there was a price to pay, I would never be able to return to my home planet…
Yet as I drifted back to my childhood, shots fired into the back of my ship and shunted me forward. I suddenly came back to reality and grabbed the controls in front of me. I threw the controls forward in an attempt to thrust forward yet there was a hold on my ship. I tried again and still there was nothing but the constant dragging force on my ship…
Once more I tried and with such determination, I broke free from the holds that seized my ship. I flew forward with purpose, hearing the pirate engines rattling behind me and as I felt another shot hit the back of my ship, I turned suddenly around and fired a shot towards the pirate. Yet to my amazement and horror, that there was not one but three space pirates lining my ship. I thrust forward towards the pirates and held my finger on the trigger, firing shots into the ships as I turned and swerved around their shots as they attempted to destroy my ship and claim it for salvage parts.
As another shot fired towards my ship, I turned suddenly and shot directly into the windscreen of a pirate ship. I saw to my glorification that the ship suddenly span out of control as the main controller fell to the floor in death. Once again I felt a sudden adrenaline rush and fired 7 more shots into the ship. Suddenly the pirate ship blew apart with force and cast both my ship and the pirate ships in different directions.
I hoped to regain control yet the momentum of the blast carried me backwards for another few hundred metres. As I regained control of my ship, I saw the pirate ships moving towards me patiently. I waited in anxiety as the ships crawled forward with fear and as they were in range, I fired over a dozen shots in each ship, hoping to blow them apart like their friend.
One ship lost control and the other was soon fleeing the battle yet I continued my hail of shots upon the defeated ships and the uncontrollable ship was soon blown apart. As this happened, I followed the final pirate ship as they fled from the battle. Yet in quickness I saw him turn and fire a barrage of proton torpedoes towards me. I was shocked as one hit the ship directly whilst the others failed to hit the target. I soon fired back with a barrage of shots and a hail of laser missiles, and soon the ship was nothing more than an array of metal scattered across the universe.
Chapter Three
Once again, I felt myself drifting through space without a purpose. Planets passed me with so many ships circling around them, I knew that I had no hope of liberating those planets. I needed a planet that was free from the constant array of ships and the guard ships that surrounded so many of the planets in this star system.
I set the ship on auto pilot and I walked away from the bridge to my cabin. The cabin was so empty and bare as I had fled away from the planet in such a rush, I knew that I would have to travel to coruscant to collect some items. I walked back to the control bridge and set the coordinates for coruscant and slept on the bridge.
As I awoke the next morning, I saw the planet that was coruscant looming over me and I regained control as a pilot and floated through the atmosphere towards the commercial area of coruscant. The ships and people roaring through the streets amazed me and I was wary of other pilots zooming past me at speeds far greater than my own.
I landed safely at the bottom of a street away from the wary eyes of the citizens of this planet and begun to walk through the streets to a bar. I walked past shops and houses, flats and clubs yet all I wanted was a bar. Suddenly a man walked straight into me and I felt a hand grab the satchel that was holding my money. I swiftly grabbed the man’s arm and twisted around his back so that he could not move his arm. He attempted to sweep at my legs but I anticipated the attack and moved away from the swinging leg. As I did so I pulled his arm further back and he screamed in pain.
“What do you think you are doing?” I shouted into him as he writhed in pain.
“I wasn’t doing anything, it was an accident!” He told me with the worry that told me he was lying.
“Don’t lie to me. I’ll tell you what, you let go of that satchel and I’ll decide not to shoot you. Is that ok?” He simply nodded in agreement and let go of the satchel.
“Now GO!!!” I shouted as he ran from me in fear. I noticed that my antics had gained quite a crowd and as the thief ran, I saw people applauding my actions as I walked away from the group and tried to make my way to a bar.
Chapter Four
Soon after my antics with a thief, I had found myself a quiet bar on a side street and I walked in to see the place to be a spacious, comfortable bar with lots of popularity and business. I of course expected this as it was the only bar in sight along the promenade. I slid past several people just to get to the bar and ordered a simple drink. I sat at the bar watching the festivities as the people of the bar danced and sung with a drunkenness that was soon to consume myself.
I soon ordered another stronger drink which soon turned into several strong drinks which caused me to lose my wariness in the festive and the commotion. I got a sudden urge to start dancing and after several moments of dancing, I saw a shady character walk towards me. Knowing that, though I wasn’t drunk, I would fail to incapacitate this character, I decided to instead run.
I ran out of the door barging past the people who were singing and dancing and looked behind me as I ran. The shady character was doing as I was doing, only I was the prey and this person the predator. I ran through the streets not knowing where I was going, only hope and determination forced me to turn and twist around the busy streets of coruscant and I soon felt that this shady character was determined to capture or even kill me before he would leave.
I soon regained the wit and strength that I had before and I decided that I should use the one skill that needed the one thing that I had, which was stealth. I slipped into an alleyway which was free from the busyness of coruscant and I saw the shady character stop as he noticed he had lost me. I slowly walked out of the alleyway and drew my double-bladed knife and grabbed his neck. I then sliced the blade across his neck and dropped him. At this point, I ran as the people of coruscant saw the murderous act that had been performed just seconds ago.
I ran around the streets looking for a mode of transport away from the planet, and of course being the lucky one I was, I found my ship at the bottom of the street. Unfortunately for myself, there were several guards inspecting the vehicle suspiciously. I dropped to a crouching position and drew my blaster and aimed instantly at a guard which was stood unarmed. I fired a shot and he dropped down dead on the floor. Soon, the guards drew their weapons and returned their fire yet because of the chosen shooting position, I could roll and dodge the shots with ease. As the hail of shots ceased for a few moments, I fired 5 shots into the direction of the guards and I hit two of the six remaining guards. Down they fell to their death and the guards soon became wary of their openness and moved to less vulnerable shooting positions. I fired another shot towards a guard hidden behind a crate and I hit the guard directly in the forehead, sending him to a quick and painless death. I suddenly that there was a risk of civilian causalities so I moved to a less crowded position whilst the guards fired a barrage of bullets my way.
Three more shots had been fired from my blaster when I knew that the barrage of bullets from the guards end had ceased. I then knew that they were all dead and I ran to my ship and fled away from the planet. As the star system came into view again, I was relieved to know that there were no ships following me as I drifted this endless space once again.
Chapter Five
As I drifted the star system, I noticed an unusual uninhabited planet, or so I thought it to be uninhabited, that was on the outer rims of the Kashyyyk star system. Searching the files for the planet, I found no information other than the name, Carasso, and that it was currently under no control. And then I knew that this was my chance to gain the respect of the Galactic Coalition members through the liberation of this planet.
I set the coordinates of the ship to the planet and I hoped that this would be my chance. I called to my friend, Jan Dondana through the communications system and hoped that he would be willing to help me liberate the planet. All this planning and worked depended on this one man and I hoped that he would answer my call.
As I slept in my cabin, waiting for an answer to my call from Jan Dondana, a disturbing dream came upon me.
*Explanation of Dream*
I heard the war cries from the other trainees and the constant calling of the trainers teaching their students. I was losing concentration and my master, Mintud, called to me as he fired another shot that was close to hitting me.
“Spiritius, you have such talent and willpower yet your lack of concentration astounds me. So powerful you are in the ways of stealth and shooting, yet you are one who seems not to understand the preciousness of concentration. Now, again Spiritius, complete this assault course in under 30 minutes and I shall grant you the right to leave here as a Captain.” My master said as I regained focus and concentration.
The assault course was a 2 mile cross country battle against the battle droids which had been formed from scrap metal. I walked to the edge of the start and pulled my blaster out of the holster as I got ready to begin my trek across the planet.
The journey begun simply, no droids had yet came from the caves nor the desert sand dunes of this treacherous place, yet it seemed that there was a presence watching over me. As I walked along the sand in the full battle armour, I could feel eyes watching me from every corner. I stopped suddenly, noticing movement to the right of me and I commando rolled to my left and shot at the movement.
A droid collapsed in a hap to my right and I knew that there were more around me. Crouching low, I walked towards the direction from which the droid had came from and as per usual droids were based at the edge of a cave. I made a jump up at the droids, and immediately fried a shot from my blaster towards the droids. Another droid fell in a heap and another was firing shots at me from the ground. As I landed, I made a roll to the right and shot again as I positioned myself in the crouching position.
Another shot was directed towards me and I immediately returned fire. The droid was soon in a heap after several shots were fired from the blaster. I then took out a thermal grenade and threw the grenade into the cave. I dived behind a naturally made sand dune and I looked as the grenade detonated. Scraps of metal were flying across the desert with great force from the cave and I knew this were the flag of control would be. I walked into the cave and as I entered the main section of the cave, I noticed the flag ahead of me.
As I was reaching for the flag, I heard the faint footsteps of a human behind me, and I was tempted to turn around. But a voice suddenly stopped me.
“Don’t turn around Spiritius, you are one of courage and talent yet your ascension to the top stops here. You are one of my greatest pupils, such talent with a blaster, yet so foolish to think that someone of my calibre would send a man into a desert without purpose.” I heard someone say, which I realised to be my master, Mintud.
“Why are you so resentful of my talent master? Is it so wrong that your student is making progress in this world?” I asked to distract him. As he begun to speak, I realised that I now had the advantage and used the opportunity.
I rolled into a low sliding kick to his knees, knocking both him and his blaster away from him. Swiftly, Mintud got up and I realised that we had to fight close combat, a speciality of mine. He ran forward and caught me unaware, a punch knocked several teeth out of me as it crunched into my jaw. I spat teeth, saliva and blood. I performed a roundhouse kick to his stomach and then directed a punch to his chin, both of which were perfectly done. I then took a sweep at his legs and as he fell, I kicked his knees backwards and heard the bones crack in his knees.
I saw my master whimper in pain, holding his knees in agony as he saw me walk towards him, arm outstretched with a blaster in hand. As he saw me, he attempted to scuttle away yet I knew he would fail to do so before I finished him forever. I fired a shot directly between his eyes and walked away with no regrets.
As I walked out of the cave, I looked in surprise to see my master’s ship, the Colossus, a few hundred yards away from the cave. I walked towards it, and I saw that there were several guards posted around the ship. I knew that I would have a better chance from a distance, so I pulled the sniper rifle from my back and began to assemble it correctly.
The sniper rifle was easily assembled and I positioned it in the sand, taking aim at the first guard as I did so. A shot was fired from the rifle and the first guard dropped down dead. I took aim again and fired another shot. Again, the same process happened. Several more shots and all the guards were dead. I then walked to the ship and entered it with ease. I then set the co-ordinates for Coruscant and I lay back as the ship did the work.
I remembered the awards that I had gotten in the Rebel Forces Training Academy:-
Award for Bravery
Award for Excellence in Weapons Training
Award for Excellence in Weapons Assembly
Award for Excellence in Piloting
Rank Upgrade
I realised that I was a man of truly many talents, and I left the planet without a purpose, yet many skills under my belt.
*End Of Dream*
Chapter Six
As I awoke, I noticed that still there was no response from Jan Dondana. Most likely he was searching for old archive documents for the Galactic Coalition to input into their database, yet strangely I was worried for his safety. As I lay in wondering, I thought about piloting my ship down to the planet and set a recon droid to search the area. Swiftly, I knew that this was probably one of the better ideas until Jan Dondana came with a response.
I walked to the command bridge of my ship, sensing a presence that was like no other. This presence was of strong spirit and hope, a presence that I had not felt ever since I had left the desert where I had killed my former master. I continued my path to the bridge yet I still felt an unusual presence and I hoped that this presence would watch over me as I piloted my ship into the forests of Carasso.
I sat in the pilot seat of my ship and switched the piloting to manual. I gripped the controls and turned towards Carasso, looking through the glass windscreen as I dipped low towards Carasso. I piloted the ship through the atmosphere with ease, yet as I pulled my ship upwards to stop my ship crashing into the treetops, I realised that my piloting skills would be tested to the maximum. Birds and trees were all planted at different levels, causing me to swerve and turn quickly to avoid a disastrous end to my adventure.
I gripped the controls tighter as once again, a new level of difficulty arose from the treetops. Animals I’d never seen before apart from the archives were swinging from tree to tree, and I realised that I would have to find a safe landing spot soon, else I would be without a ship, even without a life. I searched the treetops, using the Scan system on board my ship and soon found a clearing one thousand yards to my right. I turned in that direction and began to swiftly turn towards the clearing. I was soon piloting the ship into the clearing, which was unusually easy considering the masses of trees in other parts. As I landed, I felt that presence was ever stronger, and I prayed it would be with me as I sent the recon droid on it’s mission.
The recon droid was sent on a search mission, patrolling a perimeter of 1000 yards each way and then returning with haste. I saw the droid go off in it’s first direction, and as it left my view, I switched the screen to the view that the recon droid saw. The trees were now clearly visible on the screen and they looked much more intimidating now than before. I saw animals scuttle out of the droids path yet as they did so I saw that there was a dark presence close to the droid, just in sight of the camera.
I zoomed into the presence and enhanced the imaging and saw that it was a creature that wore a hooded robe, which was unusual considering this planet was forested rather than desert. I sent the image to the system database to find what the creature was. Amazingly, the database came up with a creature that was completely unexpected. The creature was a Nikto, which caused me to wonder what was the creature or creatures were doing in this part of the star system.
I quickly ordered the droid back in fear of being spotted, yet as I did so, I realised that I was already too late. The Niktos had the droid surrounded from all areas and I was soon wary. I left the droid to it’s fall in the forest and piloted my ship back to the star system to be safe. As I did so, I saw the merciless brutality of the Niktos in action, destroying the droid to pieces as if it were prey surrounded. Inside I knew that if it weren’t for that presence, I would’ve went to save the droid.
Chapter Seven
I waited patiently on the bridge for a response from Jan, yet I knew that a man of such experience and wisdom was frequently needed in more urgent matters than the liberation of a planet, which for all I knew was not controlled by any evil force. I began to remember how Jan Dondana and I knew each other and I soon slipped into a flashback…
*Flashback beginning*
I was walking through the ranks of the Rebel Forces army, saluting higher ranked officers as I walked by. I was a new recruit, a boy who wished to become a man. I was scared about the fate of my life and I wondered whether I would become famous, or whether I would fall to the path so many recruits had taken…death. As I walked in a simple march which I had been taught in the academy, I noticed an old yet wise man. He was tall, and mighty. He had an aura about him which made me realise that there were many here who would lead the rebellion to victory.
I walked past him, and as I did so, I saw a him smile as I dared a look at his face and he winked at me. I saluted all the officers in the group surrounding the man and left, hoping that this man was a leader of some sort. I returned to my cabin quickly, and as I walked into the room, I saw a man who was unfamiliar to me with his back turned towards me. He turned to see me and I saw that it was the man who had winked at me.
“Dear boy, why are you here? Such potential yet instead you seem to let it fall into the hands of the rebellion, and I do not know why. Can you tell me why?” This man asked as I sat down in a chair.
“I shall tell you why sir. It was because I have came from a planet which was under the control of the Republic and I feel that I have a purpose in life.” I told him.
“Well done, you seem to be of honesty and truth. I shall now introduce myself, I am Jan Dondana, and I am here to help you get through this period of war. You shall become great under my leadership.” He told me with confidence.
“Good sir, I pray, tell me why would you do such a thing for a recruit like myself? I am lowly and have no current place in the army even though I became a lieutenant in the academy.” I asked with shyness in my voice.
“I do this because I saw your record, you are very talented and very needed in times of war. I also believe that you have the potential to be a great leader. Now, as for the rank of lieutenant, you shall soon have that problem fixed.” He told me, and as he did, he begun to walk out of the room and I was left with my thoughts.
And that was the beginning of our friendship.
*End of flashback*
Chapter Eight
As I returned back to what was for me, reality, I saw that there was no response from Jan Dondana. I decided that I must wait no more, and I decided to fly back to my home planet and see if the current leadership was working. I set the co-ordinates for my home planet in the outer rim of the galaxy and fell asleep in the comfort of my chair.
As I awoke, I saw my home planet in front of my eyes and felt at rest again. I switched to the manual controls and began to land on the rim of the planet capital. I saw there were no people wandering the streets as there usually was and I saw that the streets were being patrolled by guards. I grabbed my blaster pistol and a belt of thermal detonators and set off to my parents home.
As I walked into the house, my parents rushed up to greet me and tell of what had happened. I heard that the Council had regained control of the planet after I had departed through one of the lowly members in the Council that I had not killed. They were now claiming a dictatorship and the people were in fear for their lives. I realised that I had to solve this once and for all. I asked my parents to call all the men of the city to meet at the eastern side of the city, on the rim and to wait for instructions there. I waited at my ship as I saw people begin to walk towards my ship in confusion and fear. Some carried weapons, others were unarmed. As I saw how many had turned up, I was happy.
Over 2000 men had turned up to see what was going on. They had known me from my previous attempted and partially successful liberation of the planet and they were soon quiet as I rose to speak to them.
“Men, you and I both know that this control of the planet must stop! You are the one’s that have the power to do this, I know that each and every one of you owns a weapon or maybe more than one weapon and I know that you can fight! Pride and glory for our people is in your hands and mine. We must fight to save the planet! Collect your weapons and meet back here in 1 hour. If you have friends who could fight, contact them. My people, BE READY FOR WAR!” And at that sentence, I left with purpose.
I walked to the Council building and called to the President. I saw the council were in a meeting and I knew I would gain their attention with my last fiasco against them. I saw one man walk up to the window and ask what I wanted.
Chapter Nine
“What I want is WAR! You will bring all your forces to the empty desert on the western side of the city and be ready for war. I will liberate this planet from your force and it will be in the name of the Galactic Coalition! Be ready, and I hope that you have planned for this day. I know I have.” I told the man.
I walked away knowing that the Council would take notice of my warning and would send their forces else they would feel the wrath of me, and they knew what I could do. As I returned to my ship, I saw thousands lined up ready with arms, and many more were coming towards the battalion with weapons. I was proud. The battalion was soon reaching the ten thousand mark and I knew that if we fought with the pride that I had, we would win this war no contest.
“Men, you are about to fight against the army of the Council. I wish I could say that none of you will die, but I know that is not true. You have such pride and determination, else you would not be here. All I ask from you is that you fight with vigilance. I tell you men, we shall win and we will come away from this with the power of the planet in our hands!” I roared to the newly formed army and they all cried out in unison as they got ready to march to the battlefield.
I led the army towards the western desert and I hoped that there was an army to fight. As my army approached the battlefield, I saw an army in the region of fifteen thousand men and I begun to be afraid for my life. I touched my chest and felt the thermal detonators there. I pulled one from it’s case and threw it into the Council army. The battle had begun.
Men from both armies ran forward into battle, screams of pain were heard from all around me as I ran into the battle, firing my blaster into the chests of many men, all from the Council army. The battle ravaged on till the end of the night and further, both my and the Council’s army was diminishing to smaller number but we had the upper hand as we had killed more men. As the battle raged on before me, I saw the Council member from the window approach me. He walked up to me and begun to speak.
Chapter Ten
“Spiritius, you have fought valiantly and I know that you are determined to defeat the dictatorship that has surrounded your planet. I pray, stop this now and no more of your men shall die.” He told me as if he were winning the battle. I took a step forward, and as he waited from my response, I pulled out my double-bladed knife with speed and stealth and stabbed him in the chest and thrust upwards. I saw him fall to the floor with blood pouring from the wound and I knew he would die.
I lay his body before me and sliced his head off with my knife and walked to the battlefield. I hoped the battle would stop and I would win if the Council army saw their leader had been killed. I hoped, yet I had a deep fear inside that it would not happen that way.
“Men of my army and the Council’s, I show you a prize I have just won.” I said.
I thrust the head into the air and my men cheered in unison as they saw his head and the Council’s army fell to their knees in defeat. I knew then that we had won but I knew that the battle was not over until all the Council members were killed and a new Council was instated in their place.
“My men, congratulations on your victory but it is not over yet. We still have to kill the remaining Council members.” I told them with a hint of despair in my voice. They realised that this was the only way to be free from the corruption and I walked with the troops to the Council building.
We stormed the building from the side and front, using a shoot-to-kill strategy upon sight, we quickly eliminated all the threats from the guards and moved to the Upper Room, where council meetings were held. The Council was there waiting for the news of the war and as they saw me, they knew that they had lost. I ordered my men to kill them all and they did so with precision.
After each member of the Council that I had instated in the ruling of the planet had taken an oath to the Galactic Coalition, I myself claimed this planet in the name of the Galactic Coalition. And that was the end.
My home planet was a place of lies and deceit, corruption and fraud but still I could do nothing but wait in patience. Day after day, the corrupt government would pass laws which seemed inhumane to myself, yet to those people it was entertainment. My home planet was Xionti.
