ic:Corran had been out doing his early morning run on Yavin 4 when as he approached a glade he sensed a urgency to hurry. Sprinting towards the glade he came to a quuick stop when he saw what was there. Nothing. But then out of the trees stepped a shadow...

OOC: Talus considers himself a Sith Lord, but that’s just his ego. In reality he’s only at the training level of an Apprentice, possibly going on Warrior, but still relatively weak. I don’t actually know the Sith ranking system very well.
IC:
Talus emerged silently from the shadows, facing Corran head on. His teeth came to bear, as did his claws, as he removed his ceremonial knife from the belt at his waist. It was black, and did not reflect any of the light from the sun, but in what little filtered through Corran could see that the edge was deathly sharp. Talus moved forward more, playing the blade back and forth in his path. His scaly tail flicked around in much the same way, brushing the plants behind him gently.
Corran took a warning step forward, and so did Talus mimic his move. The two squared off, a few metres apart. Talus’ beady eyes bored into Corran’s own, as the deadly alien took yet another step forward.
There was no need for words here, and no need for help. The two would-be combatants were far from the Academy, and thus Talus did not expect an interruption. They both knew what was happening, and that now it couldn’t be stopped.
Switching the knife to his left hand, Talus lunged.

As the sith lunged(corran still didn't know his name) Corran brought his weapon up and flicking the extend buttom so the blad doubeled in length and turned purple. If Talus kep on lunging he'd impale himself. As expected Talus dodged his blade but he moved right so he couldn't use the weapon for a second against corran. In that second Corran lunged forward and as he passed the sith he dealt him a kick in th kidney's. Then he as past him and spinning around prepared for the sith to turn around and come back at him. So far this duel hadn't been to hard but that could change quite quickly.
ooc:What are you a Barabel or something? and if your guy doesn't have kidneys were a human does than i kicked him in the side also can my lightsaber cut through your knife?

Talus’ initial attack was deflected with a gracious ease by Corran, as the Rogue Jedi doubled his lightsabre’s length and kicked the Sith in the side, sending the reptilian monster sprawling away to the edge of the clearing. Talus regained himself however, mentally cursing his unawareness.
He moved his left-hand back , so that the knife he held was positioned behind his body, and Talus began running toward Corran’s new position again. Corran brought his lightsabre up at a harsh angle, obviously intending to parry or chop whatever the Sith had planned to throw at him.
Just a second before he reached his target, Talus spun on the jungle floor. His left hand came about front, the knife point wrenching through the air towards Corran’s head. The Jedi countered by moving his lightsabre down and then up in a swoop - a quick manoeuvre - obviously meant to maim his adversary’s hand.
The Sith seemed to expect this move though, and just before the lightsabre severed his wrist Talus backhanded the blade he carried and caught Corran’s on the edge of his own. The Sith smiled at Corran’s astonished face, before sweeping back around and continuing the duel.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Corran gasped in surprise as he felt the sith's blade cut his face. Immeaditly channeling the force he blocked off his awarness of the pain in that area of his body. Facing Talus corran brought his blade up in a quick slash just as talus began to react he threw himself unto a headlong running flip to get past Talus. Once he was beind him he brought his saber up in a slash that was meant to carve talus from hip to shoulder. The battle was obviously not going to be won as easily as he thought at first but it was still winnable.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

The Sith now had his back to the Rogue Jedi, but this by no means qualified as a disadvantage. Corran had landed facing away from Talus, but had instantly spun around to bear, following through with the movement into a backhand attack with his blade.
Talus was fast though, and without turning around he extended his left arm behind himself, forcing the knife into a right angle to his arm. This position succeeded in catching the Jedi’s sabre for a second time - a feat Corran obviously wasn’t used to coming from such a small weapon.
But the force of Corran’s blow was greater this time than it had been before, and Talus was made to use his blocking tactic as a cushion for his fall. The Sith was knocked back visibly, but allowed himself to be carried round by the momentum.
Coming full-circle faster than his opponent, Talus aimed a sure backhand stab at Corran’s left shoulder, while the Jedi was still facing away from him.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Corran felt the attack coming a second before it hit him.Doing a backwards somersault Corran kicked the unknown sith's legs out from under him. Rotating his wrists upwards so that the blade was pointed directly upwards so the sith would impale himself upon it when he fell.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Feeling himself falling, and the enemy lightsabre drawing ever closer, Talus was for a second plagued by a moment of doubt. He extinguished it quickly, though, and in an instant followed through with his previously futile attack, to bring the knife down behind himself and grab it with his right hand.
Palms down, the Sith brought it up to his head, then down behind Corran’s lightsabre, forcing the blade down as it slid, until for an instant both combatants stopped moving.
Talus now found himself in a dangerous position. He was balancing on Corran’s sabre, which was a little less than horizontal. He could smell his baggy clothes burning at the back, as they were singed by the lightsabre he was using for support.
Thinking quickly now, Talus in turn performed a manoeuvre similar to Corran’s - back flipping to avoid a cut.
He landed heavily a few paces behind Corran, but stepped back a few more to recover while the Jedi turned.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Corran had decided that this duel deffinetely wasn't going to be won with his strength with a lightsaber.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
"It's time for a change of tactics" he thought.
<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Corran jumped backwards into a tree at the same time as he reached out in the force too the sith. He felt cold reaching out to a unfamiliar species but he pushed those doubts aside. He made the sith think he can still see Corran standing there with his lightsaber ignited and he made him not hear the sounds the true Corran were making.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Talus, still slightly disorientated, was deceived easily enough in his anger by Corran’s tactic, which the Jedi was famous for the mastery of. Regaining a small sense of balance, Talus moved forward to attack what he though was the Jedi, standing still and motionless in front of him.
