Stevenson smiled gently at Lexx and was glad they were finally back to being friendly. "I'll get back to you about that rank."

Ilmus winked and looked out as the men started to form up and do there target practice again. When she asked about the girl, Ilmus smile went away and looked at Lexx again, looking into her eyes as his hands crossed along his chest.

"She's... stable for the moment. They tried to impant a cloned kindey, but it started dieing almost an hour after so they replaced it with a mechanical one. The doctor thinks most of her vital organs would have to replaced with mechanical ones so that they wont die.

"She seems like a tough girl. They think she'll make it out, but... the poor girl will need constant treatment, probably once a month, of bacta or SE healer solution." He stopped than and looked away.

Ilmus felt really sorry for the girl. She was suffering and had been experimented on all her life. He couldn't image the cruelty of living being sometimes. Inside he hoped that those response would pay for their crimes one day and if met them again, he promised they would.

Lexx noticed how Stevenson was feeling. He was truly concerned for the girl.

"Colonel, I feel the same as you. I can't imagine what her life has been like, but we do have a job to do here. If we train these rebels to win, we'll gain the justice she deserves... maybe you'll get a chance to deal with some of them yourself." Stevenson then turned back towards Lexx and knodded.

One of the officers came over to report to Lexx. "Mam, we have one of the trainees ready for you."

Lexx knodded to the officer and looked back to Stevenson. "I have to get back to work. I'll check on her when I get done."

Lexx walked away in the direction the officer went.





Lexx walked into the medical bay not long after the girl was removed from a tank treatment. She stood next to the bed with her arms crossed just looking down at her.

Lexx wen to reach down to inspect some of the girls injuries when she was startled. The girl had effortlessly torn her restraint and grabbed Lexx's wrist with a strong grip. Her eyes opened as Lexx began to struggle.

"Just relax, you're safe here." She said as the girl started to relax. It was almost as if she was going to say something when she went unconscious again. One of the physicians ran over by the bed and Lexx had explained what had just happened. The physician had news of his own.

"Look at this last scan.." he said as he handed Lexx a datapad. Lexx was surprised, the scan showed her body started some sort of regeneration.

"Have you shown this to the Colonel?" Lexx asked as the doctor knodded no. "Please inform him now."

Lexx looked down at the girl. First she had amazing strength for being in such a weak state, now she was regenerating on her own.

"Who, or what are you??"

Ilmus was watching his men run through the underground obsticle course and felt like some of they were slacking off. He pulled a few to him and yelled at them to do better. He told how they could do it if they really wanted to and if they weren't trying he would find some others that would. IF they wanted to win back their freedom they had to want it and had to also be better than the troops they were up against. The king would not simple just leave because they asked him nicely.

The man had nodded and looked down, knowing he was right. After the speech the Nuknog warriors ran and tried harder. He was for the most part proud of them. They had all been simple people, but now they were turning into warriors.

As he watched his men, a small speeder stopped nearby and the doctor emerged to walk rather quickly towards him. Ilmus turned to the Doctor and could see the man looked serious.

"What is it Doc?"

"Sir, the girl is out of the Healer Tank and seems to be doing better. She is still weak, but getting stronger and better quickly. She seems to have great regenerative properties as well." He paused and looked at the Colonel.

"I told Lexx, but forgot the mention that those properties she has will fail again over time unless we treat her. It is not perminent. She is awake if you wish to see her."

Stevenson nodded and looked back towards the trainees. He ran towards them and told them to get some chow and they would continue again later that evening. As they all gathered to leave, Ilmus ran back to the Doctor and both got into the speeder to head to the medical ward.

Once inside, Ilmus saw Lexx interacting with the girl. He didn't say anything, but let the two talk while watching them. Slowly he got closer and stood beside Lexx in silence, smiling gently and wamly at the other girl.

Lexx looked down at the girl and put her hand on her head. "Get some rest, I'll be back later." Lexx then pulled Stevenson so he would follow her bacl outside. She then got serious.

"She may look almost twenty but she doesn't act like it." Stevenson gave Lexx a puzzled look. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"The girl has the ability to speak but her personaliy refects her true age. The growth accellerators made her older, but inside her mind she's only six or seven. It seems to me that they were more focussed on engineering her physically, not mentally. There's something else, do your best to grab my arm..."

Stevenson grabbed her arm firmly as Lexx was just able to escape the grip. "That girl grabbed my arm in there and I could not escape her grip until she released me. It seems she can trigger enormous strength at will. She also grabbed my arm out of nowhere, I never seen it coming. That shows she has really fast reflexes. This entire situation is turning out to be very interesting."

Stevenson was lost in thought over the situation.

"What are your orders Colonel?"

Ilmus thought for a moment and looked away for a second in the direction the girl's bed was. She had really done through a lot and it pained him to see anyone like that, specially a child. He knew she was more like 21, but inside and in real years she was still a child. Who could do something like that? It was just sick.

He shook the thoughts away and looked back into Lexx's eyes. "Let us make sure she gets better and maybe after a few day I could have her tranfered to a better facility, away from this planet. I think if we get her away from the place that brought her this much torture we could start her rehibilitation."

Ilmus paused at that moment and reached into one of his pockets to pull out a small box, inside was a rank insignia. "First, however, I award you the rank of Major Ms. Lexx Banx."

He smiled slowly and two of the insignias on her shoulders before moving his hands away. "It's an honor having you on the team Major Banx."

To that Stevenson grinning. "I don't think I'll ever get used to calling you Major though."

"How is the training with that cadet going?" He asked on a more serious note. "I think I got a mission to go on soon."

Lexx, being her sarcastic self, saluted to Stevenson after he placed the insignia on her. It made him crack a smile.

She then thought about his next question regarding the trainee. "He is promising. I'm actually surprised by his progress and he will be ready for action soon."

As they spoke, a group of guards raced passed them and into medical bay. A great deal of shouting was heard and Stevenson tapped on Lexx's shoulder signalling her to follow. they both jogged into the bay.

When they entered, six guards were lying on the floor. The girl was standing on the bed with a look of shock on her face. Stevenson helped the doctor get up as he explained what happened. It seemed that something during her last exam triggered her into a frenzy. Almost naturally, she faught off the physicians and the guards who rushed in.

As they were speaking, Lexx crept up to the girl with her hand out. "It's alright. Come on, come on down from there. Nobody is going to hurt you."

Slowly the girl reached out her hand to Lexx and came down. Lexx helped her to get back into bed. The doctor came back over and reached for the straps. Lexx stopped him and looked to Stevenson for approval. "I think that's what triggered her. Permission to leave the straps off for now Colonel? I suggest she would be better off if we did."

Both the doctor and Lexx looked to Stevenson to make the call.

Ilmus looked at the girl and nodded slowly. "Yes, that's ok."

He moved closer to her very slightly and moved the straps away from her, taking them off the bed to toss them aside. "If we keep these off, will you let the doctors treat you? They want to make you better, do you understand?"

Ilmus spoke in a soft tone, as if he was talking to a small child, which in part he was. He slowly reached out and brushed his finger over her cheek to brush a few stray hairs away. The girl seemed very nervous and a little scared as he touched he. The Colonel pulled back, feeling very sorry for her.

"No one will harm, I promise. You are safe here. Those mean people that did this to you, they are not here and will not come back. You just rest and lay down."

As she leaned back into the bed, her eyes watching them all, Ilmus turned back to Lexx. "Do you think she'll be alright when we go on a mission?"

Lexx considered what Stevenson was asking. she looked at the girl and asked her. "Will you stay here?" In a low and scared voice, the girl replied "Yes."

Lexx left the medical bay and went back outside with Stevenson. "Well, we got a response out of her. I think she'll stay put Colonel."

Stevenson knodded. Lexx than was curious about what he had asked earlier.

"You mentioned a mission..." Lexx stopped walking and crossed her arms. "...is there a mission planned anytime soon Colonel?"

Stevenson nodded and looked at Lexx before pulling out a datadisc and handing it to her. "Our intel assets have reported that a base just south east of the Capital has received a new shippment of supplies and vehicles. Mostly heavy weapons, grenades and repeaters, things like that. I want us to go in and take out the depot that is it being stored at."

He paused and watched Lexx put the card into her datadap and look through the data as well as pictures of the base itself. "There has been some word about the King planning a new offensive against the rebels, so with these weapons destroyed, it would have to be placed on hold and give us an advantage. It would also be hurtfull to their moral, but bring ours up. Image our trained troops winning a battle. More people will come to their cause."

Ilmus smiled a little and waited for her to respond as he crossed his arms against his chest.

Lexx looked over the information on her datapad then looked up to Stevenson.

"I'm in Colonel."

Stevenson seemed pleased then the next thing she thought of came ot her mind.

"When are we planning the mission so I can have mt trainee readied?"
