Awdin for the fourth or fifth time that day looked around the bridge of the freighter ship he had been given for this particular outing, and sighed shaking his head ever so slightly. He wondered why the confederation command couldn’t have given him a better ship especially something with more guns. He just didn’t feel right without a little more weaponry for protection, and not to mention maybe something a bit better maintained. At this thought he absently kicked the side of his command chair and watched as a piece of rust fell off. It was however the only thing he could find on such short notice and that fit the descriptions of what they wanted. So this was the ship he was stuck with at the moment. On an up note, even though it didn’t look it, was an incredibly fast ship for something of its class, and that along with the 3 quad cannons the ship did have should be enough to get them out of most situations where things went wrong.
Even though he was a bit irritated at the ship arrangements, he could understand though why it was needed to use this thing, and for the cover story and such of suppliers of Stellar’s.
He absently looked at his clothes and that of the Confederation military personnel on the ship, which consisted of pretty normal clothing that would pass for traders or whatever they needed to be. But unlike those traders almost all of the 20 crew here, aside from 8 techs and crewmen, and 4 scientists, the rest were Kashan shock troopers and all of them carried newly purchased E-11 blaster rifles, and he himself had a blaster hidden in his jacket. But thinking of the mission he doubted that they would really need the guns, but it never hurt to have them.
One of the crewmen next to him called out, “Sir we will be dropping out of hyperspace shortly.” The tech never even looked up at him, nor stopped what he was doing on the counsel.
Awdin nodded, “Inform me when we are about to revert.” The tech nodded this time looking up only shortly and then returning to his counsel, tapping a small ear bud and informing the pilot.
Awdin took a deep breath as he thought of the assignment he had been given, and it oddly surprised him that he had been selected for it but he didn’t dwell on it much, and instead turned his thoughts to the mission.
He looked over at the case that contained a folder and data pad that he had carried with him since he had left Confederation space and had not let it out of his sight not once. On the outside it looked like nothing special just a plain black case with a lock in the middle that had a small area for a thumbprint and access code that would open it, but inside were two plasma emitters that if the case was forced open, or the access code and thumb print wrong just once, would fry everything inside. A little much but inside was pretty much the culmination of all the research the Kashan’s had done in the field of nanotech and its relevant subsidies, and many of the ideas that the Kashan Scientists had proposed and thought up. Along with that were the relevant orders and documents that gave Awdin the full use of any and all facilities on a factory moon in the Cularin System.
Before he had left he had gone over almost all of the documents and found it extremely interesting and had even thought of a few ideas of his own but doubted that they would be very relevant or worth mentioning. He had however understood that most of the stuff in that case was extremely important and could give the Kashan military, and Stellar’s forces and advantage in a lot of military situations and in time could even be very useful for everyday use by a lot of the general population but all of them were most likely very far away as they still had much research and testing to do, which is where Stellar would probably be able to help. He had already released a few techs that used nanotech, such as his newest air cleaning, and pollution cleaning robots.
“Reverting to normal space… Now.” Awdin watched as indeed the blues and whites of hyperspace turned into the blackness of normal space. The main viewscreen however was dominated by the planet of Belgorath, one of Stellar Enterprises worlds and the place this meeting could finally take place on.
“Ok take us in, and send a subspace message to the fleet to tell them to stay on alert just incase.” Once again he thought maybe a little much but as another precaution he had stationed his fleet a few lights years away hidden in an asteroid field and it would take them only minutes to reach the planet in an emergency. He had as a prevention also set up a picket of Deathsabers, that would alert the main fleet of anything approaching the fleet, and they were far enough out that the fleet would have a few minutes before the incoming ships would actually be able to pick them up, and that coupled with the asteroids interesting ability to somewhat impede detection of other vessels would give them enough time to either intercept
“Yes sir. Message sent and taking us in.” Awdin looked out the main view port as the ship dived to port and started on a course toward the facility on Belgorath’s surface. As they started on the new course Awdin finally saw the SpaceDocks above the planet. Of moderate size he realized that they were probably pretty new but they looked like they already fully operational. In fact he watched as a freighter ship exited one of the docks bays. He wondered what Stellar was going to produce with that thing, but at this point it didn’t really matter. He felt a small jerk as they entered the atmosphere at last, and the StarDocks slid out of sight only to be replaced by the upcoming image of Belgoraths surface. “Well time to do this thing. Please inform the control that we are on approach and request landing information. Troopers, you’re with me.” With that he walked to the door which slid open as he approached and began to journey to the exit ramp.
As he left he just heared the tech, “Belgorath control, this is freighter 334 requesting clearance to land and landing information and instructions.” He left before he could hear a response. He smiled slightly; it was time to see Stellar.
