Just Outside Korriban Space

At first glance of Korriban you could tell no one could possibly be living there, people come and go throughout the system without even realizing what they had just passed. A living legend. It was a jungle planet that had scattered temple’s and underground catacombs that ran throughout the backside of the planet, or at least that’s what Pravus’ father had told him. It was rich with historical meaning for the sith, and still you have to wonder why the sith had left their planet…

The planet itself held no natural resource and from what Pravus had heard it had no intelligent life around. He would soon find out.

“Computer! Deploy Landing Gear!”

Entering the atmosphere you could see a blue and red sky, something he had never seen. It was a forest planet to the surprise of the young man! You could see fallen structures and some that had withstood the test of time…

“Bring her down slowly to that structure over there!” said, Pravus to the pilot droid as he motioned to a small structure on the right; it looked like a torn down church. But it would serve as a camp for the long cold night.

The landing was a bit brutal on the ship as the loosened structure was unstable.

“Prepare to stabilize the platform, check for sufficient oxygen levels and gravity control.” said Pravus as he awaited the small team of droids to give him a read out of the environment… He continued to look out the window at the half broken structure, it was beautiful…

Suddenly the cloud of doubt came over him…what if he was a fool? He had committed a felony and would almost definitely be killed if found by the Mine Lords, what if nothing was here? What if this was just a waste of time? “I should have went to the other side of the galaxy…”, thought the young man.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

“Sir, the environment is sufficient for human life. The platform is stabilized and ready for the loading ramp to be lowered.”, said the little android.

“Well done.” replied Pravus.

“Take the three other droids and begin to unload the supplies, leave the crystals in the cargo hold.”

“Yes, sir”, said the droid.

Pravus began to walk down the loading ramp as he took his first breath of fresh air since he was born. It was certainly fantastic compared to the mining dust and pollution of his home world. It was mid-day, and had no signs of harsh weather for the rest of the day. Pravus brought down his two light swords as he exited the ramp.

It was a jungle planet, birds could be seen flying through the sky and waterfalls could be heard in the distance. It was royalty for an ex-slave. No Civilization. No Government. And No Mine Lords. Pravus continued to watch as the droids brought down the little supplies they had. The original venture for the ship was to the inner core to drop off mined crystals… of course, it didn’t work out that way.

As the four droids finished unpacking the young man ordered them to move the supplies to the sheltered area, away from the forces of nature.

“Watch the ship until I return, if anyone comes out contact me on the holonet.” said, Pravus.

“Yes, sir.”, Replied the droid.

Pravus began to venture off into the jungle...

Korriban Jungle

It had been about three hours since Pravus entered the dense jungle. He came about to a small fresh water stream, washing his face of the sweat.

Getting up he heard noises coming from the jungle… like something was running right toward him, faster and faster the noise began to get louder and louder. Whatever it was, it was about to attack Pravus. The quick sound of him igniting his laser sword could be heard as blood splattered on his face, it was a wild boar. He had cut him at the neck.

His heart now pounding and adrenaline pumping through his veins faster then ever… he quickly grabbed the boar and took it to his back. He had to get to the camp before night fell on them.

“At least we’ll have diner for a week…” thought Pravus as he smirked at his near death experience.

The boar’s tusks were long and thick, good enough to take a grown man’s leg right off. The animal itself looked like it weighed in at two-hundred pounds. Its color was black with hair that looked sharp as a razor. This animal would become useful to the young man.

Passing through the same way he came in he started to wonder what other animals lived on the planet. Could he hunt? Could he fish? Could he trap? His excitement for this new found world was unimaginable. He had no care in the world at the moment, and he suddenly found peace… even the idea of his parents death had left his mind at this very moment.

Coming up to the encampment, nightfall was already upon them. Pravus dropped the large boar as it landed on the cement footing of the broken down church. He took a deep breath in and stretched.

“Care for a refreshment, sir?”, said one of the droids.

“Yes, I would.” replied Pravus.

The droid brought over a small metallic mug, filled with water. Turning to the other droids, Pravus spoke.

“There is a fresh water spring not to far from here… we should begin to construct some sort of plumbing to bring in the freshwater.” said Pravus

The droids said nothing as they just nodded. Suddenly, a noise was heard coming from the ship… it sounded like metal boxes being thrown over. Pravus jumped up from where he was sitting and ignited his laser sword, he started to walk up toward the noise…

“Whoever you are, I am armed! Show yourself!” screamed Pravus.

And there it was… a small boy jumped out of the cargo hold. The young man Pravus took a deep breath out as he dis-ignited his laser sword. Pravus stepped forward, the boy looked only to be ten years old; he looked scared.

Pravus began to walk towards the young boy…

The walk to the boy seemed to last an eternity as Pravus neared him. The boy had a red mark that ran throughout his left eye, and a pony tail at the end of his shaved head. Indeed, he looked like Pravus… perhaps of an ancient lineage?

The boy looked scared and worried that the large man would do him harm. As Pravus stood not three feet from him, he kneeled down and placed his hand over the boy’s shoulder; as to comfort him.

“are you alright, young man?” said, Pravus.

The boy began to lift his head as he nodded.

“well… how did you manage to get on my spaceship?” said, Pravus.

“im so sorry sir! I… I…I didn’t mean to sneak aboard your space-craft! I..I..I… just cant go back!” screamed the young boy as he was shivering. The planet that he and Pravus had come from was unforgiving, “they” were the work force. The slaves.

“calm down! I know what its like to be on that god forsaken planet. But don’t you have parents or something?” said Pravus.

“Parents? Im from the JedI Order… I was sent to Bandomeer after no one would take me as an Apprentice. I hate them.” said the young boy as his head lowered.

“well, there is no leaving anytime soon… what is your name young one?” said Pravus.

“I am Eric Lancer. And who are you and why are you here…?” replied the young boy with a firm voice.

“well… I am Pravus Arma. I have come to this planet of Korriban to study the ancient way’s of a lost religion., and since your going to be here you might be of help to me.” said Pravus, as he smiled with the young boy.

“Night fall is upon us. Bring whatever belongings you have with you and lets head into this structure for the night…”

Korriban Encampment
Morning Hour

The bright red sun of Korriban soon came over the church like structure where Pravus and the young boy had rested for the night. The boy had few belongings, only a small back-pack that only had a few shirts and pants. The morning light was accompanied by sound of the animals that surrounded the jungle around the structure. Pravus was the first to rise as he stretched and yawned.

He walked out to the opening as he threw a pale of water over the fire had been burning since the night before, cooking the boar’s meat and providing warmth to the two. Taking another deep breath he went to wake the boy… to his surprise had already been awake. Meditating.

“Eric… I am going to travel above these hills later in the morning. You can follow me if you want, though we wont return to the encampment for another few days to a week.” said Pravus as he pointed to the vast mountain range that was before them. Eric walked up to the side of Pravus as he looked to the beyond.

“I’ll follow you, but who will protect the ship?” replied Eric as he was referring to the droids and the cargo that they were carrying.

“Well, the droids will be here. They are armed and they’ll send a signal to me if anything is going wrong. I’d be more worried about what is beyond these hills. When I went to the water-fall yesterday, I noticed a tall pyramid in the distance. I intend to go there first… here take this.” said Pravus as he handed the boy one of his light sabers.

“You can hold onto that for now, your probably a better swordsman then myself.. “ said Pravus with a slight laugh as the boy smiled.

The boy started to ready for the trip as Pravus called his three work droids over to him.

“I want you three to start on the building of the irrigation and plumbing to the encampment. When we return I trust it will be finished. Me and the boy are going to venture to a nearby Temple and perhaps beyond. We’ll be gone for no less then three days and no more then one week. Protect the ship and cargo, call me if any mishaps should come your way.” said Pravus with a stern voice.

“Oh dear”, replied one of the droids.

“We will follow your orders, sir” replied the other droid as the last droid kept quiet.

Pravus nodded as he began to pack his bags also. He carried with him his laser sword, two blasters, and a few pairs of clothes. The boy brought the same amount of things, excluding two space-ship toys that he carried with him. All Pravus could do was smile at the innocence of his new young friend.

Finally the two left the encampment. They began to cross into the waterfall area where Pravus had first ventured and quickly made their way to the top of the waterfall through the side walls. Their in the distance was the pyramid that he had seen just the other day. It was magnificent and beautiful, gigantic in its massive size. It looked uninhabited. They would soon find out, none the less.

“Come on, Eric. We’ve got a ways to go. We should be their by mid-day.” said Pravus as they started down the backside of the waterfall.
