Rac Fegal`s flagship Baal circled the barren mining planet of Orooturo as Rac himself was preparing to land on the planet to personally secure few newly found profits. His miners had ran into some ruins and reported back to their leader, the report finally reached Rac and he was interested of them because many ruins could hold valuable artefacts. When Rac was on his way he had a report that the ruins belonged to jedi and could possibly have been a jedi temple of some sort. The Union had luckily nothing to do with them or probably no greater interest of them, but some collectors paid well for such items and Rac could always use some extra profits to cover some expenses. He was constantly expanding his fleet, production, territory and influence on other planet, but of course all required money and Rac was trying to get what ever profits he could in his hands even for a bad day.

He boarded the shuttle in his strange chair that was specifically made for him and it hovered around nicely, Rac hovered in the cockpit behind the pilots because he was worried of these new profits and he was waiting problems. He had placed the ruins under heavy guard and called a certain person to help his people to guard them, the Union had many contacts and it seemed they had called a bounty hunter under their service. The hunter was on his way and could make short work of intruders or so he had heard, none of this would have been needed if some miners could have kept their mouths shut about the ruins. Now thieves and other scavengers had laid their eyes on them, but that wasn’t his greatest concern. An old jedi place would draw jedi themselves and Rac had no experience of them, all the safety measures had been made and the arriving his were inspected including the passengers. The shuttle landed and Rac exited with the his bodyguard droids, outside 4 Khepri Crawlers awaited for him with mercenaries, battle droids and personnel aboard them on their way to the ruins. Rac floated aboard and sat in the back waiting as the transports began roaming towards the ruins; Rac hated all dumpy rides because they affected the balance of his chair. Finally the ride stopped and Rac floated out to see the ruins.

It seemed that the building was made inside a mountain wall, it had long stairs up until the top, part of the mountain was its roof and the place seemed to be in a very bad condition. Rac flew to a small command post that had many mercenary and the ones with Rac joined him, Rac stopped in front of the mercenary captain.

"What is the situation captain??" Rac asked impatiently

"Sir we have secured few rooms and my men sweep the room with your droids, there are few doors that we will have to blow up and there have been few of beasts to handle with because some have set their homes here...but in the end we have swept trough the rooms and we actually have about 5 artefacts secured in those crates over there, they are guarded well and there are more well on the way... I estimate that we are out of here with the artefacts in a day if trouble doesn’t start..."

Rac nodded with a satisfaction on his face" Good...A bounty hunter named Nebael is supposed to arrive here to secure and guard these artefacts... lead him to me when he arrives and now return to your job...”

Rac turned away inspecting the temple and waiting for the artefacts to be secured because he had a bad feeling about this hole thing, but it would be worth the risk.

Silus was pensive. Even now the events with Zarko weighed heavily on his mind. He pressed the apprentices harder, was more withdrawn and argued frequently with the various knights and masters at the order - although that happened often anyways. That fight had affected him somehow, and it worried him. The past few days he hadn't felt quite the same... maybe that was just the aftereffects of the fight. Or perhaps it was from the strain of countering that... "spell"... of Zarko's.

Maybe all he needed was good, long sleep.

Silus's fingers drummed once on the controls, snapping him out of his reverie. Cursing himself slightly, his hands danced around fixing his mistake. There was no better way of waking up then nearly getting yourself killed.

When was the last time he had piloted a ship? It couldn't have been very long. Goddammit, he couldn't have possibly gotten that bad. Flying a ship was like riding a bike again, albight with a blindfold and one of the wheels missing.

Somehow, out of of memory or sheer luck, Silus managed to pilot the vessel into hyperspace whyout blowing anything up and made a very good point the rest of the trip of not touching anything. The Jedi Knight leaned back in the cockpit.

Orooturo... Silus was still unsure about the planet Vodo was sending him
to. There were rumors of a recent finding of a few old Jedi artifacts. Normally they would be ignored if there weren't already rumors of a Jedi Temple on the planet. There was only one reason Silus could think of for why Vodo was sending him.

Vodo wanted him to be "diplomatic."

" Please state your name and purpose."

"For the last time, my name is Silus and I am a Knight in the Jedi Order," Silus said irritably. "I am here concerning rumors of Jedi artifacts found by miners. I am requesting a... meeting with your..." there was a pause as Silus glanced down at a note in his hand, "... requesting a meeting with a 'Rac Fegal' concerning these artifacts."

Silus leaned back while waiting for the response to his message. He'd been through this twice already, and always was sent to some idiot who asked him the same thing as the person before. He couldn't help but wonder if he was just being passed around while they tried to think up a reply. By the Force, how he hated these corporate types.

The Jedi Knight's fingers drummed idly on his arm. These artifacts better be worth it.

Suddenly, the comm system spoke again.

" Mister Fegal will see you now. Please escort your self to Hangar..."

Silus let his hands take over while the voice guided him towards the hangar. He let the frustration vent away. For now, he was going to need a calm head.

Rac had returned to the ship in curiosity and besides he was tired while following the temple search besides Nebael seemed to have more interest in blowing things up. Nebael truly was a good bounty hunter because he didn’t annoy Rac and perhaps Rac should acquire his services in the future, but now he had a Jedi knight to deal with. The Jedi was in the hangar and soon to be contorted by a friendly protocol droid, which would lead the Jedi to Rac in the negotiation room or as Rac called it the babble room. Negotiations were the stupidest thing ever invented because somehow Rac had that bad feeling, but surely anyone would have it because there was a Jedi aboard the ship.

Rac had many battle droids ready to slaughter this Jedi at sight, but even if the jedi would try to get violent he would find that it would be very dirty when Rac decided to put his puppets to work. Rac flew in his chair to the head of a table, which was directly in front of the door from, which the Jedi would arrive and Rac had his bodyguard droids in the dark corners behind him. Rac had placed a small glass for the jedi and himself, Rac of course had his favourite Yardle from Tatooine. The Jedi could choose any drink he liked, if he wanted depending on, if Jedi’s were such fools that didn’t understand on drinks. Rac had the ship security on its toes or well ready because droids didn’t have any toes, but metaphorically speaking. The droid would be meeting the Jedi at the moment.

-----

The protocol droid walked to the landed shuttle and greeted the Jedi.

"Good day Jedi knight, I am here to escort you to the negotiation room where mr. Fegal is waiting"

What the jedi didn’t actually know that this protocol droid was a FK series droid under testing; the FK was a ruthless assassin droid.

Silus stood, waiting, lightsaber hanging prominently on his belt. Sometimes it was better to have a weapon out in the open, obvious. This Fegal certainly didn't seem to have any inhibitions with doing the same.

"Good day Jedi knight, I am here to escort you to the negotiation room where mr. Fegal is waiting."

"Very well." was all Silus could say. This didn't seem like any protocol droid he knew of. Perhaps it was a new model; a corporation like Fegal could certainly afford it.

The Jedi Knight followed quietly behind the protocal droid, silently taking note of the way to the conferance room. If there was any trouble, he was going to need a way back to the hangar.

The trip there was uneventful; the ships crew passed them by without a glance. It was almost as if an unexpected visit Jedi was a common occurance.

If only, Silus found himself thinking. If only.

Finally, the door to the conferance room hissed open. Silus took a seat.

"Corellian ale," he responded when a droid asked him about the drink. His eyes stayed on the dug in front of him.

"You know why I'm here." Silus didn't bother with any introductions.

Rac chuckled to himself in his chair.

"Getting right to the point I see, I like that... You`d make a hell of a business man probably"

Rac smiled slightly and began rubbing his loose skin in his jaw.

"The artifacts... that we found from the jedi temple are worth quite a lot in the market mr. Silus and as you know I am a business man, people actually by that stuff and well the only useful thing I see is a lightsaber, but anyway people buy them to their collections and why? Hah! They see them as collectables and that gives the more thing to be proud of..."

Rac snorted.

"If there is anything someone should be proud of should be his life work and achievements don`t you agree mr. Silus, but yes... I am sorry for the chit chat."

Rac drank his yardle and it calmed him down slightly, but not enough.

"Yes the artifacts...you want them? of course you can have them... for a certain price...and as soon as we have collected them from the temple and transported to the ship. The price would be... around 60 000 credirts.....EACH"

Rac liked making such suggestion when he could use some word so strongly, but now he was most curious of the jedi`s answer.

"Getting right to the point I see, I like that... You`d make a hell of a business man probably."

"No... I'm far too nice for that," was all Silus said. The dug smiled and moved on.

"People will buy anything, as I'm sure you already know."

The dug snorted.

"If there is anything someone should be proud of should be his life work and achievements don`t you agree mr. Silus, but yes... I am sorry for the chit chat."

Rac drank his yardle and it calmed him down slightly, but not enough.

Silus's eyebrows raised. Though the glass had been filled long ago, his hand never moved close to it.

"That is rather expensive for artifacts I have not even seen. The lightsaber is hardly worth that much," Silus lifted his in his hand. "See? I have my own, and many more. It is simply a weapon, nothing more. More likely to harm the user in the hands of the untrained."

Silus clipped the lightsaber to his belt and rested both hands on the table, "You may have twenty thousand, each. And you can keep the lightsaber."

Rac smiled at the jedi and nodded slightly.

"20 000 each eh? since when did you jed i carry around that sort of money? Perhaps you are tryng to fool me mr. Silus? Well anyway so far there we have found about 10 artifacts, but I believe that number won`t be going up..."

Rac got his clever game face on.

"You know I could have more than you are offering so what would you say about.... 40 000 each? A compromise is always the best decision...."

Rac wasn`t going to let this fool take the artifacts even, if they reached a deal because he could kill the jedi and take his lightsaber to be selled to the fools in the market. Rac waited for the answer to come and pushed a button in his floating chair, which made the protocol droid leave, but what Silus couldn`t notice that Rac pushed another button that activated the boduguard droids, but they made no movement or sound. They would be available when Rac would need them.

Silus leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.

"The Jedi are not just some silly cult. We have resources you cannot even begin to imagine."

"You know I could have more than you are offering so what would you say about.... 40 000 each? A compromise is always the best decision...."

It can't possibly be that easy,
Silus thought to himself. Businessmen weren't like that... not ones like this Fegal.

"Perhaps," Silus said, "you would be willing to show me these artifacts you value so highly? I'm certain that after seeing them, the Jedi Order would be more than willing to accept your offer."
