Uniting the Divided (Kashyyyk System)

Deep space - Serendivus Elite Guard Command Ship - Star Nova

Lavality pondered her options; they left Trandosha only two days ago but had found that their flight had been rather peaceful. She had expected some resistance the closer they got to the headquarters.

Naturally her crew were unaware that they were headed to 'the' command station of the organization, all Lavality had told them was the coordinates of the asteroid belt and that they were to set a course.

Of course; Lavality was fully aware that getting their was the easy part - actually getting through the large mine field, the defense platforms, and the one hundred and fifty cloaked defense ships was going to be a chore in and of itself.

She did, however, have an ace up her sleeve - two actually. She had informed Maskis, one of her 'questionable' subordinates that she was headed out to Hoth. After some wait her officers intercepted a message stating that she was headed to Nar Shaada, instead of Hoth. This confirmed her theory that he was relaying false information.

Her second ace was already in place on board the station and awaiting her orders, she 'typically' had a third but getting that one on board was going to be fun.

In her office she looked out across the sea of black; stars rolled by while the ship was in hyperspace. Outside her window she saw numerious frigates, cruisers and carriers, along with armed and unarmed transports, a total of over two hundred and thirty five or so ships came with her after she had her fleet randevous with them two hours after they had left Trandosha.

She heard a chime behind her and glanced slightly; a wind chime blew steadly as air poured through a duct. Inside she saw a flashing red light of a small cleaning drone, the drone made a low pitched sound whenever it encountered something it, it then went about cleaning it up before moving on down the duct.

The drones served another purpose - they were armed. They often had problems with rats, both the animal type and the other type, and the drones did a good job keeping the ducts free of pests.

Lavality continued to stand there until she a beep resonated through the room. "Enter...." she said and the doors parted to reveal a young navy leutinant. "Ma'am? You wanted these reports," The LT said and walked over to her desk and placed the reports on a stack of papers.

She walked over and took a seat in a chair at her desk and looked at the reports. "So; someone did tip them off..." she said in a whisper as she looked at the report that talked about a build up of defensive ships.

"Hmm... we need to place to test fire our weapons..." she siad and tapped a button that brought down a display, the display lit up and showed sensor data from the surrounding area. She then pressed another button on her desk and a small green light above the button lit up, "Captain, change course to the following heading that I'll be sending you, upon arrival have our fighters deploy for fleet patrol." She ordered

~Roger Admiral~

The comm. beeped and then the green light disappeared. "Thanks Leutinant, that is all," Lavality said. The LT saluted and then left her office.

Looking over the reports again gave her an idea; she wasn't willing to send her whole fleet into the fray, so instead she wondered if she could use the Crescent frigates sniper turrets instead. She moved to another part of her desk and brought up a detailed data-sheet on the Crescent Frigate, she discovered that the captains of those ships had been 'tweaking' with the power outputs to increase range and damage. "I guess thats what I get for putting a bunch of crazys in charge of powerful ships...." she mumbled to herself before grinning. "But this'll prove to be very useful," She said and got up from her desk and grabbed her admirals hat and put it on.

She walked over to a coat rack and retreived her coat she put it on and left her office and made her way to the guest quarters. "I wonder how Lady Asri is doing; I remember the cook found it odd when I asked him to make sure we had enough liver for her, amongst other things," she smiled.

Walking into the elevator that punched the number that brought the elevator to the guests floor. She walked out and down the hall, numerious officers and other crew saluted her as she went. She still didn't like being saluted, perhaps it was because, height wise, she didn't look the part. After all it's hard to salute an eighteen year old admiral when the person has the height of a twelve year old.

Lavality looked at the numbers on the various quarters before finding the one that corrisponded the Asri's quarters; she hesitated for a few seconds before tapping the door.

The ship jolted sligthly as it changed course toward it's new heading

Serendivus Elite Guard Scout Corvette - Eagle's Eye

Eagle's Eye moved across space with such fluid grave and motion that it would be difficult to determine whether it was an actual sub-capital ship or a fighter; the ship was cloaked yet moved with speed.

The ship dove into the asteriod belt that it's attached armada would be arriving in in just fifteen minutes. The crew on board worried feveriously to track any and all targets; whether foreign or domestic.

The ship rocked as the ship dove under a moving asteriod and then over a second one; the ship made navigating the asteroid belts simple. The Eagles Eye wasn't armed with any weapons, only speed and menuverability, which is all it needed in this place.

As the ship made its way through the field it soon came upon a broken hulk of an old imperial missile cruiser. On board the crew began scanning the hulk and discovered that the wreakage is recent; the ship had only been destroyed several days ago.

With this new information on hand the crew changed the alert status; the ship's outbound color shifted from matte green to a sickly blue, while still remaining cloaked. Small iconic 'puffs' could be seen as the ship turned around and continued on it's recon mission.

Eagles Eye soon came upon a big discovery; a large rotating asteroid. Under normal circomstances this wouldn't have been a discovery considering all the asteroids in this belt rotated, but the difference with this one was that it rotated 'opposite' to the rest.

With the roid tagged the scout ship continued. On board the captain relayed a burst transmission of the data his crew had recovered.

Serendivus Elite Guard Minelayer Corvette - Piercing Gaze

Piercing Gaze, a mine layer deployed in the service of the elite guard, the ship was cloaked and waiting on station just far enough away from the asteroid belt that it would remain unharmed.

Unlike other corvettes, the minelayer wasn't menuverable enough to survive a trek into the asteroid belt, but that didn't mean it couldn't use it's mines. The ships space mine complement were known as 'leap' mines; the mines had small engines on them that propelled the mine on a straight course toward any ship identified as a foe.

Of course; the leap mines only had enough fuel for one full burst, after which they were just normal mines. However, Piercing Gaze had one other mine at it's disposal - a modified carrier mine that held ten sonic missiles.

The captain on board Piercing Gaze watched as something moved across his screen; he figured it to be the scout ship that had gone in just five minutes ago. He looked around his bridge before getting a thumbs up by his communications officer.

Without saying a word he motioned for his ship to start deploying sensor jamming mines; the mines, upon leaving the ship, looked for the nearest 'solid' object to latch onto and then began to jam all friendly sensor contacts, which would render even the armada's most cumbersome ships invisible to enemy sensors.

Once the mine jammer were in place the minelayer came about and four large arms opened up on the sides and began to deploy leap and carrier mines, the mines floated aimlessly in space.

With a thumbs up by his weapons officer the captain relaxed and motioned for his ship to move to another station near the asteroid belt. Only a few more minutes before the main fleet arrived, he hoped the net they put up would hold back any enemy ships.

Asri was getting a bit bored. She wasn’t used to having to be ‘delivered’ to her target. Back on Corescant, any delays would be of my own choosing… She thought as she checked her gear for what seemed to be the thousandth time: the armor she got back on the medical asteroid, her K’Zur, some smoke bombs, even a mini thermal detonator just in case. Besides that though there was a sense of anxiety and nervousness she hadn’t felt since her first ‘job’. The reason was due to the setting. Before after the job was done it was easy to melt back into the shadows and crowds of Corescant, but on a space station there weren’t nearly as many places to hide. Plus considering her status within the Serendivus, she would be almost instantly recognized.

Maybe I should have let Trazu come with me… She thought. With him here I would have more to distract myself from the ‘unknowns’ in this task.

She remembered as she was gathering her stuff for the trip, how Trazu practically begged to come along. She didn’t blame him, considering they had been together for all big missions like this previously. Still, she knew he would have gotten in the way, Jedi or not. For this mission to be successful she needed to get in unawares, so that her targets won’t have their defenses up. A Jedi running around with lightsaber blazing was just ruin the whole thing.

No…Rissonik needed him for something… She thought when she remembered Rissonik finally got Trazu to back off by outright ‘telling’ him he was needed elsewhere for something just as important. What I do not know, but it had to do with this Force abilities I am sure.

She almost didn’t hear the soft tapping on her door. After blinking at it for a moment, she said. “Enter.”

The door slid open and Lavality walked in. "Sorry to intrude," she said to Asri as the door behind her closed. She walked over to the far window that looked out into the vastness of space.

"We'll be stopping off near an asteroid belt to test fire our weapons before heading in; while I'm certain they aren't aware that we are headed toward them we can't take any chance." She said and turned toward her. "Do you need any more equipment?" she asked.

"Not at all." Asri said with a faint smile. "I wasn't doing much to begin with. As for equipment, I believe I have everything I need. However I would like a run down on what kind of defenses 'within' the station I may come across, as well as what ships may be in the dock when I make my 'exit'."

"You'll mostly encounter perimeter guns and anti-cloak fields; but some of the area's of the station are more heavily guarded than others. The deck that house's the generals and their staff is guarded by several squads of marines, including droids and quad wall mounted laser cannons," Lavality took in a breath before continuing,"the best way to deal with the wall mounted weapons is to disable the power relay node located five floors above."

She took out a map that she had in her coat and spread it out; then showed Asri several locations for the relay nodes. "Once they are out, you'll only have fifteen minutes to get in and take out the generals, once fifteen minute's passes the turrets become auto-linked to the base's power relay nodes, which means that you'll be unable to disable them without destroying the base's power supply. Of course, if the generals are smart enough they'll contact command and control and have them reroute the power, but you can easily take care of that obstacle by disabling inbase communications here," she pointed at a room that was six floors 'below' the generals deck.

She then went on to explain to her that the base already had twelve compliments of fighters docked at any given moment in the event the base was attacked, she then explained that out of those twelve, only one sported the new Crescent fighter, which she believed would be Asri's best bet to get out since it was the latest fighter, thus more stealthy than the rest.

"Remember; once inside there will be no way to communicate with you. I'll give you forty minute's before I'll come in guns blazing. Once you have taken care of the generals, the others should fall and most of their supporters will surrender, also once you take them out no one will be able to activate the self destruct sequence." Lavality smiled, "which means we can salvage the station and possibly move it, but thats only if we can bring the stations hyper-drives back online..." she pondered this before returning to the matter at hand.

"You'll encounter light resistance when you first get on board, but expect that to get heavier as you progress through the base." She said, putting on her serious face. "Do you understand?"

Asri took this all in, hoping her and Trazu's guess that the nanos are enhancing her learning abilities was true: there would be no way to remember all this otherwise. Still, the things about the turrets and marine squads she considered only obsticles for one the way out.

"How well are the vents guarded, particularly within?" At Lavality's look she added. "You think I'm going to plow through all that even with the turrets turned off? I might as well call them and tell them I'm coming if I was going to do it that way. No, the longer those bastards don't know I'm coming the easier it will be to take them out. Probably the only thing I'll do is turn off the turrets before hand so I don't have them shooting at my backside while I am running for the dock."

Lavality looked toward the vent in Asri's quarters; inside a small drone rolled up to the cover and peered through. "Those drones we use on board are the only one's you'll find inside the vents; they are all controlled by the base AI but last I checked the AI will be in maintenance mode for most of the day so you shouldn't have any problems, just becareful NOT to touch those drones IF you run across any, while the drones themselves are just mechnical, they do have motion sensors which will trigger the automatic defense programs inside, which in turn will send an alert to command and control."

She sighed once and then looked back at Asri. "You'll have to be quick; it's possible they've added stuff since the last defense report was made about two days ago." She said and folded up the map and handed it to Asri. "You might need it, the base is huge so it's pretty easy to get lost," she then smiled at her, "although I doubt that'll happen."

Asri accepted the map. "I shall study this throughly while I am waiting for my means of getting there...which...by the way...is my next question: how are you going to get me into the station?" Asri asked. "I doubt you'll be 'shooting' me in there via a shuttle or something, as that would be a dead give away. Plus once the fighting starts I doubt they'll be accepting cargo or passenger shuttles...."

"You'll be inserted via one of our Sparrow Crescent frigates; they're cloaking systems are slightly more advanced than the one's on this aging command ship." Lavality said and glanced at the window. "Once your close you'll be sent in via boarding pod and will attach to one of rarely used cargo transfer ports," she said and strolled toward the door.

"Our frigate captains are nuts; I have to wonder if they learned it from a certain Trandoshan we all know and love.. but anyway.. they are very capible and should get you to the base without anyone noticing," she said just as a the internal ship comm. line sounded and a womans voice annouced that she was needed on the bridge. "If you need anything else; more weapons, or perhaps a custom armor suit, just like the sergeant in the armorery know," she said and left Asri's quarters.

Making her way into the elevator she rode it up to the bridge where the ships second in command was staring nervously at the sensor display. "Scouts have reported a lot of activity at the sensor relay outpost; seems they have several cruisers, a carrier, and numerious fighters and corvettes patroling the asteroid belt." Her XO said

Lavality nodded and walked toward the center. "To bad this command ship doesn't have the weapons that our Sparrows do; we'll have to rely on them in this battle." She said and gave the order for the fleet to drop out of hyper-space.

A short time later a fleet of ships appeared several hundred kilometers from the asteroid belt's edge; utilizing a series of jamming and decoy emiters, the fleet was made to look like a pirate armada just out to attack the trading lanes.

Behind her command ship; the majority of the fleet rested behind a sensor dampening field, but she knew they only had ten minutes to take out the relay dish or else her mission to get Asri to the base would be compromised.

"Where is the defense fleet now?" Lavality asked. An officer scanned the area before finding a large number of ships moving through the asteriod belt toward her location. "Remember, any ships left behind from the mines are to be disabled," she ordered, the captains of the four Sparrow frigates all relayed a 'roger' over the ship to ship comms.

Outside the command ship; sublight engines from four oddly looking frigates came online, suddenly the frigates themselves disabled from sight, leaving barely a trace of what they are or where.

On the sensor display Lavality and her bridge officers watched as the four frigates moved on a course that would leave them near two large asteroids; they would use the asteroid to field the location of their fire.

When the defense fleet came into view; the leap mines suddenly activated and rushed toward the nearest ship, for the first few seconds the mines impacted against the shields but once the shields went down the mines began to impact the hulls of various ships, disabling several and destroying a couple.

She had relocated to the command section of her ship; watching the battle unfold. Shortly after all the leap mines had been used up her four frigates opened fire on the engines and communications dishes on the various defense ships.

"We got a problem..." she heard an officer say - it was something she had hoped she wouldn't hear. "One of our captains reported that at the current position of the sensor outpost, there is no way they can 'squeeze' through the numerious asteriods without running the risk of seriously damaging their ships," an officer said. Lavality nodded and looked at the screen. "Two fighters can get through right?"

"Yes Ma'am, but you've already told us before not to use fighters since it may tip them off as to who we really are." Another officer said

She just shrugged and walked toward a set of double steel doors. "We don't have much choice; and since our frigate captains are busy, send a message to Lady Asri to meet me in the hanger bay." Lavality said before leaving the command center and making her way to the fighter bay, on the way she informed the deck captain to outfit a Sparrow Reten fighter with a load of torpedos.

She wondered if she would make it in time.. they only had six minutes left...

Asri had just finished putting on her gear when she got the message. Already? I was thinking it would be a few more minutes at least. She thought as she grabbed the map and headed out. Something must not have gone according to plan...I can feel it.

She ran for the hanger, nearly knocking over several people in the various hallways in the process. Once there she skidded to a halt besides Lavality. "I take it something's gone wrong?" She asked.
