Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.
It was a simple mission. In and out. A simple assassination. Silus looked at the large building before him.
Great. Another tall building. Let me guess, the governor is living on the highest peak of the building? He continued tailing the patrol, they were still on the search for him. He had provided a good enough distraction, pretending to crash his own ship. And now these search parties were looking for him. They would be unsuccessful, and they would give up.
It's going to cost me in repairs, though. He continued to follow the group, keeping out of site to the best of his abilities. And his abilities were very rarely matched. They began to head back to the building.
Exactly what I thought."No success?" piped a new voice when they entered.
"Nothing. Still, I want the guards on full alert." the leader of the search party replied.
"Very well."
They didn't even notice Silus disappearing into the darkness. He continued down the hall, testing wherever he stepped. A simple mistake could be his last. He saw the stairs at the end of the hallway and made his way.

He entered into the kitchen swiftly and quitely, the sound of boots passing by. Silus looked around as he waited, seeing if anyone was in the room. He picked up the datapad.
Wilfred,
As much as I agree with your certain "spices" added to his dinner, the Sir doesn't. I would suggest that you refrain from any more spitting in his food, unless you want to lose your job.
Also, this weeks food seems to be a bit ol---
Silus stopped reading as the sound of the boots died. He crept out, continuing on his way.

He the door opened with a hiss and Silus entered. He had to restrain himself from lauging. The bedroom was as decorated with tapestries, and by the bed was a throne and a silver scepter. He found the man sleeping under the silk sheets of the bed, snoring loudly.
Silus pulled something out of his pocket.

Linna immediately burst into the building once the doors opened, laughing with joy and running up the stairs. They had been out of town for a while, and she couldn't wait to see her father.
"He hasn't been out all morning."
"That's not surprising, the lazy b*sterd."
"Still, it should be a nice surprise for him to see his daughter."
She raced up the stairs, unable to contain her happiness she let out a shriek of joy. The door hissed open and she raced inside. She hopped on top of the throne, and began bouncing on top of it, staring at her father. He was asleep.
"Daddy, daddy, wake up."
There was no answer.
"Daddy! Daddy, it's Linna! Wake up, daddy, don't be lazy."
She ran forward, and began to pull on his arm. It was oddly cold, very cold. She tugged on it, and continued doing so, trying to wake him up. Linna gave more loud shouts, her cries loud enough to almost wake the . She shrieked as his body fell off onto the floor.
If I should die before I wake,
I pray the Lord my soul to take.

"You shouldn't them."
"Oh, and why is that?"
"Because, despite what they do."
"You're too trusting. That will kill you."
Forgotten memories, just small dreams that were gone. Sometimes his mind recalled them, but he didn't remember them. They were gone, forever. All he remembered were their scared faces, faces showing and curiousity. Small flashes, enough to feed his and anger.
"Turn your head boy."
"Why? Who's that daddy?"
"He's evil. People say he's a demon."
"Yes, yes he is. Now, don't pay attention to him."
He did remembered the old woman, in less then a year her life had ended. Still, she filled his mind with dark tales, and of evil promises. She told him he was 'special', despite the words of others. He believed in her then, when his age was young. Perhaps a small part of him believed in her still, despite what reason would say. A stepping stone to the darkness he became.
The sith absent-mindedly rolled two metal balls in his hand, reflecting on his own past and what he had become.

They say that once you turn to the darkside, it begins to corrupt you.
You become a mirror of what you once were.
A false reflection of your true self, transformed into a creature of darkness, a symbol of evil. But...
"Yes, I see much potential in you." The old woman offered him another cookie, before bending down coughing again. Silus felt no emotion about. He pitied her. That was all.
"No, I'm fine, thank you."
"How polite. I hope those are just words. Otherwise, that may be a problem." Silus was confused by what she said, though he continued to come, and listen to her tales and promises of power.
...What if you were already on that path?
He'd seen it a thousand times before. A man in a chair, bent over and staring at the floor. The same pistol, cold as he held it in his hands. The same familier voice, calling out to him.
"No, Silus, turn away! You can't do this, please, it's not too late! Come back to the light! PLEASE!"
The same sound of the blaster pistol firing, ending the voice. He lifted the head of the body, and stared into faces of his past. Faces he didn't know, didn't remember. Faces of times passed, that had come and eventually left. A face of a woman, faces of employers. They were gone now. They meant nothing to him. He stared at the man, his face dotted crimson. He meant nothing to him. It was just . He felt no remorse, no pain. Just the cold grip of the blaster pistol in his hands. He left the man, walking into the surrounding darkness. The small point of light disappeared, the man fading from view. Just darkness. Endless miles of pure black. That was his home now.
He woke up. Another dream. It mattered nothing to him. He saw no point to it. There was none. Just times passed. Fragments of his own memory. That was it. Nothing more.

He looked over at the man, strapped down in the dark apartment. His empty eye sockets blinking, as he tried to figure out what was happening. It was a dream, a nightmare, the dark man next to him was just his imagination. A cruel piece of his imagination.
Silus leaned forward, his face only a few inches of the man's. "Tell me, does it hurt?"
"Yes. Please...please, I'll give you what you want. Please, just let me go. I have money, I'll give you that. Please, please..."
Silus laughed, placing the metal balls inside the empty sockets. They fit perfectly. "Ah, but you've already given me what I wanted."
"What?! Please, oh god, let me go! I'll find a way to stop you! People will know! You'll be stopped!"
"Oh, but here's yet another mistake," Silus said laughing, "Nobody cares! Perhaps someone will have a funeral, but no one will notice. It must pain you so much, that after all you have done, you have nothing. And you will die, with just that. Nothing." Silus stood, making his way out of the room.
"Dear god, I have children! I have a wife! Please, let me go!"
"Then someone will miss you, for a time. But, I'm afraid you're worth more than alive to them. She'll find someone else. He'll be a failure, just like you, but you'll be replaced. They'll miss you for a time, but then, you will be gone. Your children will grow up, and they will leave, and they will forget you."
"Dear god, please! Just..." the man's voice was cut off as the door closed.
Silus made his way out of the building. The man had wronged him, betrayed him, many years ago. He could have been considered successful, he had money. But something had gone wrong in his life. Silus guessed it wasn't long after he betrayed him, in his false morals of justice. Funny, that the man to turn Silus in, or try to, would be the one who had hired him. There was an explosion from the building, as the metallic balls erupted. The job was done. The man was forgotten. He was nothing.
