In Orbit over a planet in the Doldur system....

This was the final chase scene in this act. Most of the pirates had been annihilated thus far, but something that the TIE Devils could not kill was the old Dreadnought class Heavy Cruiser that had escaped the asteriod field and made the jump into hyperspace. It had been tracked by Imperial Probe Droids to this planet, where there is settlement on the surface that includes a modern spaceport and numerous weaponry emplacements on the ground. A taskforce of ships had been assembled over the past three days to strike at this facility. The force was composed of twelve star destroyer type vessels. Four were Imperial Mark V class, two were Victory Mark IV class, and the other six were the new remolded Venator class Troopships. This was the first time that the vessel was being deployed operationally against a hostile enemy. Embarked was an AT-AT division, backed up by the 101st Imperial Scimitar Bomber wing.

While the other star destroyers moved to engage and destroy the remaining pirate vessels, the Venators moved into position. Ground fire lanced up from orbit at the star destroyers, ion cannon and turbolaser fire from LNR-II and KDY-I class emplacements. Thick hull armour and strong shields protected the ships from any damage thought. The bow hangar doors opened, and out of each vessel came one squadron of TIE Scimitar Bombers. The Bombers dived through the atmosphere, reaching supersonic speeds when they reached optimal dropping range, releasing hail loads of Smart Proton Bombs on assigned vectors to enemy weapons emplacements, pulling out and stabilizing at lower orbits. A series of large explosions illuminated the city and surronding countryside. Enemy weapons fire ceased, so the Venators opened their main hangar doors up on the lower side of the vessel, exposing a series of large pods. The pods began to drop from the bays of the Venators into the atmosphere, becoming large glowing meteors for a few minutes. Their retro-rockets fired, landing them with soft force against the ground of the planet. The massive pod's doors opened, and out of each pod came one AT-AT, two AT-STs, and one battalion of stormtroopers. A total of twenty pods had been landed around the city, leaving the pirates trapped. The Army division moved into the city immediatly, obilterating all in their paths to destruction. Although a true test has yet to be had, the Venator had still proved it's worth as a dedicated troopship class vessel.
