<font color=yellow><font size=8><font face=impact> Prelude to an Echo

<font size=2><font face=chicago>Two years before he embarked on his battles with Golgan the Hutt and the Evil Captain Dengro Mangar, Ren Janggar was a humble resident of Ithor. Found wandering the jungles of the Planet as a child, Ren was taken up to live on the Ithorian Herd Ship, The Jemalien Valley, where he was raised by an Ithorian named Rawno Mashor, an Elder on the Jemalien Valley.

Being an Ithorian, Rawno taught Ren to respect all living things, be they plants or animals.

Now 22 years of age, Ren is a fully fledged member of society and through hard work to maintain the Herd, has earned himself one of the highest standings on the Jemalien Valley, Gaurdian and Protector to the Sacred Stone of Ithor, one of the most sacred artifacts in their culture.

However since being recently discovered, the Stone had attracted much attention over recent weeks from the Rich, Criminal syndicates whose only motivation is to obtain the Stone at any cost.

Fearing for the safety of the Stone and the people of Ithor, Ren prepares to flee Ithor in search of the Jedi, who's protection he can count on.

<font color=white><font face=default><font size=3>Sunset and On the observation deck of the Jemalien Valley, stood Ren Janggar.

He gazed off into the sun as it descended into the hills, turning the sky a wash of purple and red. He was going to miss this. He was going to miss flying over the Lush Jungles of Ithor in a speeder, he was going to miss breathing the refreshing air of a new day into his lungs, but, he was going to miss his Rawno Mashor the most.

He would miss how they played together when Ren was a child and their time they spent together looking at this very sunset.
Rawno had been his mentor, his teacher, but must of all he had been his father for as long as he can remember. His respect for this planet and all contained within it ran deap into his vains, as did Ren's. Only now, had Ren to leave it.

Ren let out an audibly an all too unhappy sigh. He knew this would probably be the last sunset he would ever have the pleasure to see. For 19 years, Ithor had been his home. The Residents of the Yemalien Valley had been his family. Now the greed and corruption of the galaxy forced him to leave it all behind.

Initially, Ren had regretted ever accepting his role as the Stone's protector. In all truth, the position was all too eagerly thrust upon him with great reluctance on the part of the Elders of the herd.
IN fact, if it weren't for Rawno's gentle prodding and convincing arguments to the Elders on the young Janggars behalf, Ren may have never ended up with the job at all. So by some stretch of his imagination, Ren had deemed himself lucky.

Either way, Ren was a somewhat honoured man in Ithor society. Ren had worked for most of his life maintaining the onboard Jungles and aeroponics facilities of the Valley, spearheading several initiatives to help sustain the lush greenery on the herd ship. However, primarily, Ren was most respected and with it a bit idolised for being one of few people to ever set foot on Ithor's Jungle surface. In Ithorian society, the planets surface was a sacred place, trespassing was forbidden, in fact even flying over the great Jungles while Unescorted, is considered a capital offence.

Ren loathed the attention he received as a result of his posting. Being dubbed as ' the only being on the Valley ever to set foot on the Jungle floor' instilled a great deal of annoyance and regret inside him. Regret for ever being found there in the first place when he was four.

Rawno floated p to the observation deck on his hoverchair, where Ren sat watching the sunset. He had been confined to the chair ever since a tremendous sixty foot fall from a tubro tree crippled him.
Rawno beckoned to Ren, <font color=blue> "Come here my boy! I have something I would like to give to you."
<font color=white>Ren rose to his feet, turned away from the sunset and sat beside his old hammerhead.

<font color=lime> "Father, you shouldn't have come up here at such a late hour, you know you need your rest." Said Ren , all too concerned over his father's Recently deteriorating health.

Rawno coughed out a reply, <font color=blue>"Son, you . . .you worry too much about me, this old man still has a few good years still left in him. Now where was I, oh yes, yes, I have something here for you. When it was decided you had to leave, I had this made for you.

<font color=white> Rawno reached into a storage compartment on his chair's side and produced a small, foot long box. He handed it to Ren.
Opening it, Ren peered inside.

<font color=lime>"A lightsaber! Father, I . . . I don't know what to say. But I'm not a ,"

<font color=blue>"Not what?" <font color=white>Replied Rawno, <font color=blue> "Not a Jedi!?

<font color=white> Rawno chuckled to himself.

<font color=blue>"No , no, you're not a Jedi, well not yet anyway. Since you were leaving for Naboo I thought you might need it."

<font color=white> THe lightsaber was not a gift as such, but more one of Rawno's subtle hints.

Ren knew his father always hoped for him to one day become a knight in the Grand order. If only the feeling was mutual.
