Chadd: If you do not offer a response in 72 hours, thereby subsequently failing to post a defense manifest, Isstal can say you have whatever the hell he wants you to have there. He is going by the defense manifest posted at your board. If you've got something else there, perhaps you should have fricking posted instead of waiting till after the fact and then whining. He has every right to play "guessing games" if you do not reply within the allotted 72 hours. What else is he supposed to do?

Isstal: Chill out. We all know Chadd is a moron. It's not something to get heated over. The flaming is certainly not necessary.

Be even handed, @#%$.

Isstal is a moron, too. There. See? Fair.

OOC: I am unaware of this bikcering, so take out your pistols, go to ten paces, kill, and get back to the rp. The manifest of Sluis Van defenes was chasnged, Isstal, try looking at the revised official category in the fleet forum...hmm, maybe that would tell you some thing....maybe that change has occured.

Rear Admiral Proteus, officer commanding, First Jutraalian Defense Flotilla, had lead his fleet on a massive war game, in preparation for the upcoming attack on the heart of their Empire. The drill was slated for execution above the Sluis Van construction yards, but was deemed would interfere with yard operations. Agreeably, the exercise was moved to the second planet of the system.

After all, a newly formed fleet had to act as unit, new or not.

The arrival of the GDI fleet was not shcoking nor did it inspire mass hysteria. Every man in the fleet above and the Army below knew that an attack was immenent. It's arrival had been planned for, and Rear Admiral Proteus had sufficient forces on hand to stall the enemy and make him feel the effect of war.

Battle is pursued less enthusiastically when the sting hits you.

" Commander, deploy all fighter squadrons on the ground, and order all troops moblizied: bomber wings in the air. I want minimal losses if they get through the shield."

The young surface liaison officer turned and went right to work, a product of rapid training and promotion, but excellent verve and potential. The older cadre of officers made sure the newer ones were not promoted above their ceiling.

There were many dozens of squadrons kept safe in the bays ofthe Jutraalian warships, but their berth would not be a cozy one for long: Admiral Proteus had given the advance order to deploy into attack wings. This entailed seventy percent of the fighters, bombers, and assault craft forming into wing and flotilla wedges, while thirty percent, the most potent of the fleet, laid in wait by the ships, ready to repulse the attack.

There would be no reserves here. The risk could not be taken of losing a whole wing if an ISD went down.

The wargame completed only a half hour before the GDI commenced its attack, had planned for this exact contingency- a direct attack. Only the exit vectors need be altered for it to have been a live reenactment of the simulation.

And thus the same tactics would be employed.

Squadron I-D would hold its formation, acting as the schwerpunkt of the assault. Squadron !! had been designed specifically for smaller unit operations within the whole, and thusly they would break down into small assault squads, harassing the attackers for all they were worth. Speed would be their ally, and strength their weapon. The gunners would fire at their best, but slow broadsides would not be the order of the day.

The GDI gunners would not be able to rbing all their guns to bear, for many hundreds of targets would be presented to them.

To have escaped the notice of the attackers was easily explainable: the Fleet was hidden behind a pair of twin moons of the third planet, and radiation from the nearby sun had buzzed their scanners.

Thank the Emperor for TJE probe droids.

" Commence assault. Waves one and two around the first moon, three around the far side of Sluis Van. Fighter Wings 1 through 5 are to break up and commence harassing fire...don't get stuck in dog fights. Bomber and gunboat command, advance at your discretion but keep pace."

With that, the second squadron broek into small groups of one and two ships, maneuvering themselves into position and making ready for the rapid lunge at the unprepared GDI fleet.

All this whilst the Primary Force, Squadron I, moved itself to a hugh position to attack the GDI fleet at a near perpendicular angle....

A move their could not have foreseen.

Battle would soon be joined....

(OOC: I'll congratluate you on a nice try, but it's not working. First: the 'Revised and Official Fleet Manifest' lists no defences at Sluis Van. The ships you claim are now there came from a section entitled 'Planetary Defence Forces'. That means that Sluis Van had zero ships defending it. Furthermore, I'd like to see proof that your idea is a practical one for use at Sluis Van, and one last point: if your fleet had been orbiting the third planet, then it would have had to jump into the system. Because of the Empion mines, that would not be possible.

Lastly, due to the fact that it took you almost two weeks to reply and I got a staff ruling saying that Sluis Van was mine before your response, one that has since been under debate, and the fact that GDI/TJE negotiations are currently taking place, I am ignoring your post.

For the time being, anyway.)

As I said in the post, the fleet was there on war games, before your warfleet arrived...their lack of reaction can be IC explained by the process of formulating an attack plan/defense plan. aS YOU know, IC, the logistics and planning phases of any operation require time...

I was made unaware of any negotiations, and ten minutes before this was posted, was informed by Chadd Feasrsons to commence a defense of the planet...

The planetary defense flotillas are in fact reactionary, but do need fuel, supplies, and maintenance...Their presence can again be exoplain in that Sluis Van, whether having expansive ones or not, does have shipyards. Therefore, given its stargetigic importance, it would make sense that they be there for fueling and war games, just in case.

And as it is a strategic locale, more forces could have been posted there...

I would advise contacting chadd to countermand my orders.

If this is to be disregarded, erase my post. BUt I am going on what I was told. I am, as you k ow, Telan Desaria. And I have been, as you may or may not know, on a brief active duty stint. Where, with whom, and how I cannot speak of. But Chadd and the members of TNO can vouch.

OOC: This thread has ended due to the peace treaty signed. However, because of the broken treaty on the part of TJE, it will continue when I get a chance to post

Uhh...yea you will have to try to take Sluis Van when you get the chance seeing as there was no possible way for you to take it in a matter of oh say, three hours?

(The Emperor has told me that the 'continuation' of this thread doesn't exist. So, since I don't feel like fighting, it doesn't. That means it's my turn.

I would like stats on any and all R&Ded vessels present, regardless of who researched them. I would also like to see a reference saying that Sluis Van does have moons. Furthermore, considering that I scanned the entire system, I don't believe you story of being hidden behind the moons. Lastly, if they were doing war games they probably would not have been hiding when I arrived.)

<hr>

<font color=red>"Supreme Commander, sir! Fighter sqaudrons deploying by the dozens from ground installations!" Dxun Isstal looked out at the distant world, a frown crossing his face. Before he could formulate any sort of plan, however, another voice rang out.

"Sir! Enemy capital ships emerging from behind the moons!" Dxun swore softly as he saw the makeup, his face darkened.

"The fleet is deployed?"
"For a seige sir." He nodded.
"Excellent." The siege position normally meant a fleet was arrayed in a diamond, with each 'face' presented to a different view. It was ideal for warding off an attack, or protecting a vital position.

"Give me target profiles on those starfighters and fire as targets prevent themselves. Force Six-Four-Beta to go deep and route them out." The orders were quickly relayed to the small Aegis-class Star cruisers, several of which broke off and dived with spectacluar speed into the atmosphere, firing on enemy starfighters as they went.

Those ships would already be devestating the starfighter sqaudrons on the ground or that were trying to launch. The enemy ships were emerging now from their hiding places, coming out to meet their enemies over a world that had seen more than enough war.

"Major," Dxun spoke suddenly. "Send a communications to the enemy commander and inquire if he would be willing to save the lives of several hundred thousands brave individuals today."

He looked out across the vast expanse of space, at the now-visible capital ships that made up Sluis Van's defences, and sighed.

How was it possible that one man, one greedy, self-centered @#%$ like Emperor Fearsons, could cause so much pain and suffering?
