Jaina screamed and grabbed Snake as he went down, falling on her hands and knees beside him. She scrambled and leaned over him, looking down at him, "<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Snake<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->!....Oh Snake!"

She bit her lip as tears welled up in her eyes, then her green eyes narrowed and flashed angrily back up at Liquid, "You monster!"

Liquid walked over to the tow people on the ground,arm-gun still warm.

"Monster?,my dear child you have no idea what a monster is.Do you want to know what a monster is?...fine"

He crouched down and pointed at Snake.


"<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> That<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->....is a monster" He whispered

Liquid reached over and pressed the small notch behind Snake's right ear.The facemask opened up to reveal Snake's face.It was an older version than the one Jaina saw years ago.

Liquid smiled faintly.

"Do you remember their faces,Brother?..the scientists?..I do..they were twisted in fear and agony.I hope you can live with yourself now...or...perhaps....die with it"

Snake closed his eyes and moaned softly.Liquid just smiled.

"Do not worry,Darklighter.He is not fataly hit....at least if you do not get him to a Bacta Tank in the next two hours"

Any retaliation from Jaina might set Liquid off agian...so she didn't bother to do or say anything agianst what he said. She knew the real truth....or....at least...what she <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> believed<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> to be the truth.

"Two hours? No problem..." As she said this, Jai had hoisted Snake off the floor and over her shoulder. She tossed her hair back, gave Liquid a spitefully polite nod and walked, rather overloaded, out of the forsaken place.

An hour later, Jai sat cross-legged on a operating table, her chin rested in her palm, her elbow propped on her thigh. Solo's sea-green eyes reflected the green hue of the bacta tank as she looked at the doctors nurse Snake.
She sighed sadly as she thought back on the things Liquid had said...<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Were they true? Was Snake <!--EZCODE BOLD START--> really<!--EZCODE BOLD END--> like that? No! No...not Snake. Not sweet, quiet, mello Snake.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->
Jai's head swam with alll her troubleing, confuseing thoughts...

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Liquid Snake's face loomed in front of him,his mocking voice surrounding him.

"Do you remember Snake?...their faces?...they were terrified...they did not want to die....but YOU killed them.They had families...they were just doing their job.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->...............

Snake snapped awake.He was laying in some sort of recovery room.He looked to his left and saw Jaina asleep in a comfortable-looking chair.He was not wearing his suit but that was to be expected,he was in a hospital after all.He was wearing a simple white-gray tunic and pants.He walked over to Jaina and placed a hand on her shoulder.She woke up and looked up at him.

"Thank you"

Jai blinked open her eyes and yawned softly...she smiled sleepily at Snake, "Don't mention it."

Then it hit her that he was up walking, "Hey, Kid! You better lay back down...you could hurt yourself agian." She had stood up and back him towards the bed, pushing down softly on his shoulders and "forceing" him to sit.

Snake laid down and looked up at Jaina.

"Jaina......I am not what Liquid said I am...I am not a killer.I just hope you don't think less of me"

Jai smirked down at him, "Ya, I know..." Her smirk faded slightly, but she pushed the thoughts back. "So..um...what are we going to do about Liquid?"

Snake smirked.

"We,Jaina?...I thought you would catch the first ride out of here as soon as I got in here"

He sighed and sat up.He looked around for a moment and located his sword and suit.He walked over and picked up the suit.

"Anyway it doesn't matter.I need to get rid of this soon.I think the hospital clothes are more comfortable."

He picked up his sword and sheath.

"But this I need to keep"

He looked back at Jaina.

"Do you need a copilot"?

She smiled cooly, "I know where to get you some normal clothes, Kid...and as for the co-pilot, hmm..."

She thought a moment and then got a wonderful idea. "Ya know, Snake...I'm the leader of a smuggling snydicate. Devoted to good, mind you, but smugglers and rogues none-the-less. I could definatly use your help as a co-pilot...."

Jai then smirked slyly, "That is...if your up for the job."

Snake smiled.

"I'm no Chewbacca...but I am certainly up for the job."

He looked around.

"No where can I get soime clothes"?
