Park sat in his desk chair in his study, looking over the financial reports for the quarterly analysis for the Mid-Rim Protectorate. Profits were still marginally on the rise. So far the best producers initially are the timber industries from Vladet, providing furnishings for ships and office buildings, plus several mining industries in more remote areas. But there were two big losses on the mining industries, ones which caused a bit of suspicion in the back of his mind. The only reason that these two industries would lose profits is if they were donating their mined materiel instead of selling it. And one of those industries was a regular contractor for a commerce shipping repair and mantinence yard at the stragetic chokepoint world of Coyn. Settling the papers back down on his desk, Park removed his reading glasses and rubbed his sore eyes. He had been up for the past fourteen hours straight without any sleep, but such was the life of a governer during the quarterly financial reports. Even with these two big losers dragging down the profits, there was still enough profit there to donate a hefty ten percent to the military of the Empire in addition to the five percent normally contributed as per regulations. But even so, an investigation was still going to be needed to as why these companies are losing money and what changes need to be made.

He punched down the comm call button under his desk and called for his personal secretary to come in and prepare to take notes. The secretary, Alorr Bin, a Rodian, came into the room and drew out a datapad under which he would take his commander's orders. Park took a moment to recite his thoughts and then told the secretary what he needed to know.

"Bin, I need you to take a message to the comms unit, inform Commodore Huey that I will meet him on the planet of Coyn in one standard week's time. During that time period he is to assemble a team of his best investigators. After I depart, I want you to assemble the chief cabinent and have them finish up the quarterly reports." ordered Park Kraken. With the orderly sent on his way, the governer bid farewell to the front gate greeter and headed for his mansion to pack. On the way there he stopped by the local communications HQ himself and ordered a number of commanders and personnel to assemble for depature within twelve hours. Something was up, Kraken was now thinking, as there were no charitable organizations in the area. However, there have been rumors of pirate attacks in the area. Best to take along at least a token force, and be safe rather than sorry.

Coyn, one week later

The Task Force, code named Dogma, dropped out of hyperspace within the system of Coyn, and her two sister planets. The force was a small one by an Imperial Admiral's standard, and in fact included no Star Destroyers. Instead this was a cruiser taskforce, very capable in it's regards to hunting down and exterminating pirates. The force included three Illustrious Cruisers, two Ferro medium cruisers, six Pa'al Light Cruisers, three Fire Light Frigates, and ten Guardian class Patrol Cruisers. In addition to the wide variety of formidable capital class ships and pickets present, there were also complements of starfighters to go around, twenty squadrons total, mostly of the early fighter models, although some Interceptor squadrons were also present. Finally, in the unlikely event that ground action was going to be needed to occur, two battalions were embarked along with a limited number of AT-STs.

Within the system of Coyn was a large number of merchant ships, some belonging to independent contractors, others to the various goverments and factions that bought or sold resources to the mostly Imperial sector or the few neutral planets that remain. And most of these were Bulk Freighters, for metal industry was what the Elrood Sector was all about, although there is development under way right now to expand the food making industry as well as harvesting the gas clouds that envelop the sector to provide an inexpensive alternative to regular reactor drive fuels. Also in system were a number of civilian traffic, including pleasure yachts, commercial freighters, and cruise liners. Finally, present were a number of warships, a couple of them belonging to other goverments and factions such as the Hapes Consortium, and neutral planets, but most of them belonging to the Empire. New warships, mainly corvettes and the such, were in transit from recently completed and operational shipyards near the metal mining factory planets to finish fitting out in the bigger yards like Kuat Drive Yards, and others were just heading from depot planets like Sat'Skar back to their regular patrol routines. There were a number of corvettes and an Interdictor cruiser in the repair docks around Sat'Skar.

The Imperial Taskforce headed straight for Coyn, and the smaller vessels, along with a number of shuttles including the Admiral, docked at the massive Golan III Defense Station that served as a military command headquarters for Commodore Huey and the New Order Elrood Sector Authority.
