Merendez sighed slightly knowing full well that question would arrise sooner or later, although she was hoping later. "Lately my organization has been running into problem's finding suitable mining sites, but that's just the tip of the iceberg." she said and took a seat at the table.
"We don't have the technology or the experience for planet wide mining operations, just space type operations. However, having said that, we also don't know how to construct surface based defense systems." she said and placed a datapad on the table. On it was information related to the moon in the Kashyyyk system known as Tissuss
"But our first order of bussiness is the mining sites." She placed her glass of water down and clasped her hands. "Many of our mining site's have begun to run low on minable mineral's, two of the asteroid belts we currently operate from are largely dead in terms of usable resources. There for we are now looking for other place's to mine, either rent, or buy the area in question. Perhaps even purchase mineral's, or the likes." she said and smiled slightly. Of course, we also have the ability to mine in some of the most hazardous regions of space, but at the moment I won't mention that. she thought to herself.

Rob could tell she wasn't ready for the question, but it had to be asked. He listened to her explain her groups problems and knew Stellar Enterprises could relate. It had taken them months of scouting to locate resource deposits. They were only now beginning to recieve shipments from Mustafar that would allow the company to rely less on other private companies for its resource needs.
"Well for a certain price Stellar Enterprises could offer your group some newly developed extraction and refinement technologies that could help increase the yield of the resources you already mine. As for the renting of a mining site, I believe that could be arranged as well. We have just started opperating inside the Silken Asteroid Field and have located extensive mineral deposits within the fields inner layers. They are hard to get to, but the rewards, I believe, are worth this risk." The Android stated as he watched Merendez and took a look at the moon being displayed.
"Defenses are much easier for Stellar Enterprises. We have extensive experiance with building defensive systems as well as installing them on a planet so as to maximize their usefullness. If this is the moon you wish to make defended, I can have my engineers and planers study it thoroughly so as to find the best ways to defend it."

Merendez smiled. "The information related to the location of the base is on the datapad." she said and took a sip from her glass of water. "as for mining those minerals, we have the technology for deep asteroid mining which allows us to extract minerals far deeper into an asteroid than normally possible."
She looked at one of the paintings. "The Silken Asteroid Field... thats not on our maps." she said to herself while rubbing her chin. "But I am interested in hearing you out further." normally it would be the other side who said that, but she wanted to hear more about that field.

Rob smiled as he slowly went over to the large dinning table inside the room. He pulled on one of the edges and out came a keyboard with various functions. The android started to type things into it as he turned back towards Merendez.
"That is not what I ment exectly. We have the capability to mine almost anywhere in the galaxy, I can assure you. What I was talking about, is this..." His voice trailed off as the lights inside the large room dimmed quickly.
The table he as at and where the Trandoshan bodyguard was eating, suddenly split into four pieces at the middle. These parts moved off to the side along with the chairs assigned to each sections. As it were, the Trandoshan was moved back at the same rate as the table allowing him to continue eating after all sections came to stop. A space appeared in the middle which was quickly taken up by a holo projector that rose up from underneath the floor.
As soon as this projector stopped moving it powered up and quickly displayed a spinning illistration of the whole galaxy. Slowly it came to stop on a certain section of the outer rim and zoomed in using a gentle arc. As planets and suns were passed by they all disipated into the air while systems ahead came into focus. An area appeared that was between the Kathol Sector, Minos Cluster, and the Quence Sector. Within this large space appeared a single system and right above it was displayed: Silken Asteroid Field.
The image quickly moved in closer and one could see the yellow star around which the whole system went around. Close to this star were two planets, both dead and devoid of any life, spinning around it. After them came a space of nothingness before finally a large asteroid field could be seen. This field was actually a belt that spun around the system's sun. It seemed to consist of many different layers, like rings around some planets. The rings closest to the sun could be seen traveling at much greater speeds than those hundreds of thousands of kilometers further out. Those closer rings also had a much higher collision rate between asteroids within it as could be seen went different asteroid bodies on the display came together and seemed to explode in all directions.
"As we can see, the problem is getting into these inner rings to get the minerals, not in the actual drilling deep into an asteroid. The inner rings are mineral rich, but very violent in nature. I believe this was the reason many do not visit this asteroid field and because of that it has been left out of most galactic maps. The field had nothing much to offer because most of the outer ring asteroids are poor in resources or have been all mined. It was these inner rings that held most of the minerals, but since they were hard to get to, I venture a guess that corporations didn't see the risks out weighing the benifits. Stellar Enterprises sees differently."

Merendez studied the holographic image and smiled. "Most corporation's probably never tried to develop the technology." she said and turend to Rob. "My organization doesn't use shields as much as everyone else, most of our are enviromental. Our enviromental shield's are far stronger than those typically found on reguler vessels."
She said and clasped her hands. "Our mining frigates, corvette's and drones use the shields to mine in hazardious fields. Or, in rare cases, on planets that are far to hot for life to easily exist." as she said this she turned to her wookie guard then back at Rob. "We can set up a mining depo on a burned out asteroid, then use that as a base for the mining drones and corvette cargo carriers." When she said this she placed a holographic disk on the able in front of her and out shot a silloette of a corvette class vessel.
"Our mining corvette's are not armed with heavy weapons, they are however armed with very fast firing projectile and laser systems that allow them to intercept even the fastest of moving objects. Of course those could be used in the event of an attack, they are strictly low power but the amount fired would be enough to destroy a small asteroid if it was to ever poss a threat to the corvette and it's mining drones." Merendez said as changed the image.
A smile formed on Merendez's face. "I can see we have the same opinion, I haven't noticed this field at all despite how close one of our mining fleets is." she said and pointed to area roughly twelve lightyears away. "they don't have the current transports to set up a mining base, and they won't move unless ordered to. Right they are mining what little remains on that planet." with that said she stood up and walked back over to the same painting that had caught her attention.
Now she waited to see if Rob would be interested in the technology that allows her own industrial ships to mine close to sun's and in nebula's, but also in torrent fields.

Rob looked at the image of the corvette and studied it slowly as it rotated around. It was a nice design and have some advantages. He looked back towards Merendez and noticed that she was looking at one of the paintings again. Stepping towards her, Rob asked the question on his mind.
"What are these evironmental shields you speak about? Can you explain them better for me? Also if you like your ships may use the base we have set up in the Asteroid field. It is large enough for both of our operations. After my team stabilizes it of course, but that shouldn't take too much longer."
As Rob waited for the answer he thought about how his company would soon be able to produce powerful shields for new mining operations and how. He also went through all the experiance his company had in the field as well as the new armor created to withstand extreme conditions without even the need for shields. The armor allowed Stellar Enterprises to already have the capability to mine in some of the extreme situations that Merendez spoke about. Perhaps once they trusted each other more they could have a somewhat of a technical exchange.

"From what I've been told. The shield operates on six different layers, the first three being the normal layers that catch radiation and other microparticles in space." She said and this turned around. "The other three layers work almost like a repulser lift, only they repulse larger objects away from the shield. The shields are angled in a way that allows small asteroids to bounce off the shields, leaving the main ship relitively untouched." she sighed and looked at the ceiling. "Of course, space always has surprise's."
She said this and stared right back at the painting. "You would really have to talk to our scientist's who developed it, because what I told you is just a basic understanding of what it does and how it kind of works." She wondered if it was better to have a demonstration to show how effective they where. "currently the mining fleet that I pointed out on that holographic map is the only fleet equiped with those shields."

As the android listened it made sure to record everything and nodded slowly while Merendez spoke about the shields. They sounded very interesting and would have to be looked at once this deal went through. Once she finished speaked, Rob walked towards her and smiled.
"That sounds like an impressive system. I think we have the basics of a deal worked out here don't you? Your company may rent out part of the asteroid field and in return you could pay up monthly or we could accept part of the product you mine. Out of every cargo load you gather, a certain precentage will be turned over to Stellar Enterprises. Does that sound fair?"
He looked over at the painting and then towards the projection of the moon spinning in the air. "What would you like to do with your moon's defenses? Do you want sections of the planet under heavy defense or do you wish to spend whatever it takes to make the whole moon defended against most threats?"

Merendez thought about that. "It does." she said to Rob and smiled slightly, it was the deal she wanted.
She listened to him talk about the moon and it's defenses then spoke up. "It's probably better to have sections of it defended, with the primary grid located at the base itself and the secondary grid located some distance away from the main base, with only an underground access tunnal to get there." she said and crossed her arms. When Lumier had reported in to her about the moon and it's various tunnals, she realized that defending it could be far eaiser than expected. If they had four generators installed and placed within the numerious underground hangers it'd make taking down the defense grid very difficult. "Yea... that might just work out." she said and tapped her chin.

Rob smiled with the hearing of this and went over to turn off the holo projector. As the table moved back together he slowly returned to the Grand Admiral. As he walked it was obvious that Rob Stellar would be pleased once he came back from his trip. The man would have to meet with this group himself.
"Everything sounds good then. When would you like to begin this deal?" The android asked.
"Would you mind it if some of my people visited your moon and look at it for themselves?"
