Teebo sat on the bridge of his flagship Shadow Defender. It was fresh out of the yards, having finished earlier today. The crew had just finished their practice tests, and now the ship was ready to go. They were on their way through hyperspace with the rest of Defender Fleet, heading for Nal Hutta. Teebo didn't like the Hutts very much, but their planet would be an important part in his ever-growing fleet. They needed Hutt space to expand their territories. Besides, Ylesia, one of the other major planets in Hutt space was being taken over by Snowkan. He was pretty sure that the Hutts would like to join with MCR, but he couldn't be sure. He had brought a small fleet with him in case they encountered trouble.
"Five minutes until Nal Hutta." said a young Mon Calamarian on board the Shadow Defender. The Mon Calamarian, like the rest of his crew, was very well trained and talented. Many young people with promising futures battled long and hard for a spot on one of Teebo's ships. Being on one was a good start for a career, so naturally, almost everyone tried out. Not many made it, because they had so many people trying out. This young male had been lucky enough to get a spot, and was showing a promising start. Teebo knew he would most likely end up captaining a ship in a few years.
--------------------------------------------
Five minutes later...
The starlines streaked back into regular space as they arrived at Nal Hutta. It looked peaceful, and they didn't see any ships, but Teebo could never be sure.
"Are there any ships identified in the area?" Teebo asked an officer.
"No sir, there seems to be nothing."
"Good. Put me through to the planet." Teebo turned back and stared down at the planet. The Hutts were immensely fat beings who lived for several hundred years. Teebo hated them, but he knew that if they gained control of Hutt space, it would be a major step ahead.
"The comm channel is open, sir." said the comm officer.
Teebo turned to face the screen and saw a Hutt there. "I wish to form an alliance with your planet and people. Can I please speak to someone in this authority?" Teebo hoped that the Hutt understood English.
"He is busy now." The Hutt said at length. "If you wish you could send down an ambassador to wait."
"I will come myself. Do you know how long he will be?" Teebo said.
"No, I do not know when he will be ready to speak with you. We have heard a lot about you and would be greatly honored by your presence. I am sure my master will wish for us to be... friends." He spoke the last word after I short pause. Teebo was not sure what was meant by that.
"Thank you." Teebo said, and cut the channel. He turned to an officer.
"Ready my transport, and send several of my guards. I will take a shuttle down to the planet." With that Teebo turned and left, heading for the landing bay.
-------------------------------------------
Several minutes later...
Teebo sat inside a Sentinel Shuttle headed down for Nal Hutta. He was nervous about the meeting, and he was not sure if it was a trap. He turned to face the captain and spoke.
"Request permission to land. I wish to get this over with as soon as possible."
"Yes, sir." The captain replied.
He was about to turn on the comm, when they received a message from Nal Hutta. It was as if they had heard Teebo's request, even though the comm had not been on.
"Proceed to Landing Pad 196. We will have several men there to escort you to your room where you will stay for the duration of your visit."
Teebo said "Thank you." but the channel had already been closed.
-----------------------------------------------
10 Minutes later...
Teebo stood in the private suite. It was nice, in the eyes of Teebo. He had noticed that the Hutts were disgusted by it. He knew that they must have had it specially prepared for guests. The Hutts messenger that he had first seen when he had tried to contact the Chancellor said that it would be sometime tomorrow before he would get to see him. He told him to relax in his room, and that the food was in the lobby. They seemed so kind, but Teebo's Jedi senses were tingling. He knew something must have been wrong, but they were so nice. He thought it must have been that he just wasn't connected well enough to the force. How very wrong he was...
-------------------------
Next morning…
Teebo woke up to see that it was already late. He quickly dressed and walked out the door, heading for the main office. The Hutt's assistant stopped him partway there.
"My masters shuttle has just landed on the planet. He will be about an hour. You can go take a tour of the city if you wish."
"Ok. Thank you for your kindness." Teebo said. He headed out for the city. He was not really sure what a city inhabited by the Hutts would look like, but he was going to find out. As he walked onto the street, he saw something that made him gasp. The Hutts had slaves. He had never known that. He saw many humans being whipped and pushed around. He hated slavery, like most of his species, but on Nal Hutta, he was going to have to live with it. As he walked down the street, he peered in some of the shops' windows. What he saw did not please him. There was disgusting foods, and other things. He wished he hadn't come. He was deep in thought as he walked around a corner, right into the barrel of a blaster rifle.
"Freeze." Said a man in a gruff voice.
Teebo lifted his arms over his head, and looked around. There were 2 people that had ambushed him. They both had their blasters trained on Teebo. Then he got an idea. The first man started to speak.
"Hand over your weap-" but he was cut of. Teebo moved slightly to his left, putting the first ambusher directly between Teebo and the second. He planted an image in the second ones mind that the first ambusher moved to give the second a clear shot. He then made the second think that his partner had ordered him to shoot. He pulled the trigger one his blaster, and sent a bolt right through his partner's chest. Once the ambusher had realized what happened and had lined up for another shot, Teebo had already moved. Teebo jumped away from the attackers, and used the force to drop an overhanging sign onto his head. The assassin stumbled for a few seconds. But that was all Teebo needed. He drew his blaster out and set it to stun. He quickly shot the man squarely in his chest, and then rushed up to him. He retrieved the datapad from the man, and looked to see who had hired him. He didn't find what he was looking for, but he did find something else. On Nal Hutta, there was a 100,000-credit bounty on his head. These people were bounty hunters. He quickly fled down between a gap in two buildings, and looked for somewhere to comm up to his ship.
-------------------------------
On board Defender…
The comm officer was sitting at his station when he received a transmission from the planet.
"Sir," he said, speaking to Gavyn Sykes, who was Teebo's assistant and was left in charge of the ship, "we are receiving a transmission from the planet. It is on Teebo's personal encrypt code."
"Put him through to me."
"Yes, sir." Said the officer.
Gavyn turned on Teebo's private comm unit.
"Yes, Emperor, what is it."
"I have been ambushed on Nal Hutta. It appears that I have a 100,000-credit bounty on my head. I am going to need backup. Send down the Darktroopers."
"Yes, sir-" said Gavyn, but he was cut off. The comm channels were jammed.
He quickly spun around. "Launch the fighters." He said "Then send the Darktroopers down to the planet."
Gavyn watched as the fighters launched. He knew that the Hutts were going to launch a raid, he just hoped that they didn't raid with too many ships.
-------------------------
Back on Nal Hutta…
Teebo hoped that Gavyn had gotten his orders. The communications had been jammed, so he wasn't sure. He looked up at the sky, and saw several Sentinel Shuttles coming down. Good, he thought, now if I could just get up to my ship…
