Though in the time of the republic, and the Jedi Council which protected it, the knowledge was widespread that Yaddle, a member of that council, held Yoda in high regard, few truly knew how high of regard it had been at one time in their lives. Hundreds of years before they served on the council together, and before either was completely devoted to the Jedi Order, the two had found the love, or at least the infatuation, of one another. For a short lived period the two were inseparable.
However, that time did not last long as both were called down the same path. First Yoda, then later Yaddle as well.
Unknown to the small green Jedi Master, however, was that during their time together a child was born of their young love. A child who's mother had named him Yoda, after his father, a child who was sent to a secret location where he could live his life in peace without tempting the Jedi Master to forego his duties in the place of his responsibilities to Yaddle and the boy.
Yoda, I am sure, sensed something in Yaddle from time to time over the years but it was never spoke of and never revealed. For hundreds of years the child grew, both physically and in the Force. His talents were great naturally but were honed by passing teachers and the guardian of the holocron which kept watch over him over the years.
Now, after the civil wars had ended, Yoda felt a calling to the greater galaxy and a will to explore it. He felt as though he was letting his life, and his duties, pass him by. He felt as if it was time for him to seek out what was left of the Jedi and devote his life to them, as his mother and father both had.
