Take over of Belkadan

Nebael` s ship swooped out of hyperspace and arrived near a jungle planet known as Belkadan, he activates the ship ready for combat only to be cautious about these researchers. He had met Tir Esias earlier in this week in a secret location and discussed about a new planet "transfer" for the Union, the planet before him wasn’t really controlled by anyone, but was know by few. Of course, if this base would be met by some familiar to it, he would raise questions and the "transfer" would be exposed. Luckily the Union was very capable and would only replace these people to fake like nothing had happened although in reality this base would be another base of operations for the Union. Nebeal was of course called in to do the dirty work to infiltrate a well guarded installation, what was there so dangerous on this planet? The beasts of the jungle, which would eat poor people and Nebeal had to go into, that jungle in order to avoid being noticed. Nebael ran from bush to bush and disappearred when someone decided to look back, that no one wasn`t following them. Soon they arrived at the base where

He was thankful for the fact, that not so far behind him would be following a group of Union troopers and personnel, who would help him not that Nebeal would be afraid of this instalments defences. He moved the ship to the other side of the planet to avoid the base sensors, then he began scanning the ground for suitable landing place for the ship near the installation, but still in cover. He began approaching a spot, which would be enough for his and the Union’s shuttle or whatever they had as their vessel. Nebeal got a bumping landing and he cursed the hole flying thing, that he hadn’t got used to and cursed that no good ubese kra`el who had abandoned him. Now he had to bother learn flying in the Union bases, he hated the simulators and almost hated the flying, but at least his ship had space and a good view out. Nebael takes off his belts and sighs standing up, he walks into the sleeping rooms and began putting on his armour. He attached all parts and finally took his helmet, which always covered his face except usually he didn’t wear it cause no one was around and he had gotten tired of it when he was alone. He walked to the closet where he kept the weaponry except his gaffi stick and darts, which were always with him in a situation or another. He took out a blaster putting it in his belt, a small gift from the Union, which was a small camouflage generator, then a bag full of explosives on his shoulder, a heavy blaster to his back, which would come handy in heavy fire fight situation and finally few tools to open doors without brute force. He sent a message to the arriving Union ship.

"I’m on ground and ready to move out towards the base making the coast clear for you people, the base doesn’t seems really that bad now that I have had a closer look from the ship. Few turrets, guard droids and some militia or guards perhaps besides those scientist, but don’t worry about my presence. I’ll be like a ghost and disable & doors the systems for your little assault there....Nebael out..."

He closed the messaging and left the ship opening the landing ramp, which released the usual gasses making a swoosh type of sound. He walked down and looked around seeing an exotic new environment, which had many good hiding places to use when approaching the installation. He rushed into the forest after closing the landing ramp of his ship, his feet carried him fast forwards, but suddenly he had to stop because in front of him was a small group of people, who hadn’t seen him. He hide in the bushes and followed their actions they spoke with each others while one took some samples of a planet of some sort. Nebael knew, that these humans would offer him a way in the installation one way or another and without asking them. He stayed there waiting for them to move and had to hear their nonsense babble.

A young man spoke with a small tremble, which made him an obvious newcomer to this hole thing in Nebael`s eye’s " Come on hurry up will you! This jungle still gives me the creeps after being here 2 weeks.... I have a bad feeling as if something always watched us without letting us know about it.."

The guard next to him started chuckling to himself "hah! Your just nervous and peeing your pants because of the new enviorment, it`s always like this with you people when you come here..."

The younger man raised and eye brown "What do you mean we people?"

"I mean you city people, you live in a city as a guard in some warehouse until you want adventure and excitement, then you will come here and you are scared to death although there has never happened anything...well if we don’t count the first people here who based this base here for searching this planets nature...."

Nebael couldn’t feel cold satisfaction when the words "What a shame, that something will happen very soon" ran trough his head and a smiled crept on his face. The guards began arguing about the cowardice of the other until the scientist got his work done and told both of them to shut up, then they left towards the installation and Nebael followed silently like a ghost. He saw the people were entering the door and he had few choices of entering the place, either the front door with the human’s or the air conditioning vents. He was too big to go trough the second so the first one should do, but there cannon’s were automatic and saw his body temperature. He saw, that the tree’s were huge around him and their branches quite long and some even got over the installation. He began quickly climbing a suitable tree and got up with small hooks, he then quickly put his gift to work and melts out of sight in to the enviorment around him. He took speed and jumped against the installation wall, he slide down quickly hoping no suspicions were made. He slide down and touched the ground, the human’s passed him opening the door and he followed them into a corridor. He smiled when he got in.

"Too easy..." Nebael whispered to himself.

The experienced guard turned to look back and then looked at the other one.

"Did you say anything?" The other had a strange look "No...your drunk on duty aren`t you again?" The other commented back and they began arguing while Nebael creeped the corridor forwards with a smile on his face.

Edge of the Belkadan System
Star Destroyer Noir Soleil

"We've recieved a transmission from Nebael, Mr Esias."

Tir Esias was standing alone, appearing as if he was staring out the bridge viewport toward Belkadan. The lush planet was picturesque in contrast against the star-spangled background. But Tir Esias was not taking in the beuaty of the scene. He might have, in other circumstances, done so.

But seeing as he was blind, it was obvious that he wasn't viewing a galactic art show.

"And?"

"He said he will disable their security systems as planned."

"Did he mention the long-range transmitter?"

"No, sir."

Tir Esias tapped his cane on the metallic floor of the star destroyer. The Union's new association with these bounty hunters was supposed to make jobs like this easier- but it also meant relying on operatives whose effectivness was based primarily reputation. Tir Esias had heard that Nebael was good- but he had not yet seen him in action. If the bounty hunter fouled up this operation, Tir Esias would not be happy.

And that would be very bad for Nebael.

"Begin calculating the microjump. Send the necrotroopers to the transports."

The messenger hurried off to deliver Tir Esias's order.

Nebael sneaked trough the corrudors with a cold smile on his face as he passed few scientists, who were talking about some new plant they had found and other small projects they were involved in. Nebeal didn’t really care about that, but his biggest concern was to reach the security room on the second floor where he could disable the security and open the doors for Tir`s necrotroopres. Their blank expression sometimes gave even nebael cold chills because they didn’t have their own mind like they were machines, but still shells of humans without a soul. He arrived to a small mess hall, which unfortunately was full and he had to go in behind some scientists in the same door opening. He got to the stairs to the second floor, but realised his problem and began running trough possibilities in his mind. He couldn’t use the steps because it would create a noise because they were made out of steel and everyone would be suspicious of what is happening. Secondly it was too way to jump even for him and he had no jetpack or sort, but that would have blown his cover away and the hole facility would be on alert. Nebael noticed few guards passing him and he got a idea when the guards stepped on the stairs so did Nebael always putting his feet down at the same time or at least he tried. He got finally up and could breathe normally again hoping, that there wouldn’t be anymore floors and sneaked forwards.

This mission was quite crucial because the Union was a new employer so it wanted to test all of the bounty hunters, who had made a deal with them and this was a mere assignment in the end because the Union would have probably bigger plans than taking over a jungle planet. Nebael sneaked onwards and arrived at a well armoured door, he realised his mistake of coming here and began looking for a place to hide because the security room needed an security card not to forget a hand print. The card could be stolen easily, but the hand would be a quite difficult part because no one was willing to give the intruder his hand for a loan so that meant dirty work. Nebael hid in a small room next to the security room and looked around finding himself in an empty room with some stuff all over or actually it was storage. Nebael went trough the place finding out that he was in a food storage, he disabled his stealth camouflage and sat down looking out of the door, which he had left slightly open. Now he had to find the person with the proper hand and card, but luckily they came in the same package and there were many personnel who could have access into that room. Suddenly after few minutes of wait someone came in the room and Nebael was lucky to not get noticed because he got the stealth on in time. Nebael let him pass and go, but then nebeal thought that the man wouldn’t notice the door not closing properly. The man did and came back looking around in the room because every door had maintenance yesterday. Nebael sighed and began taking steps behind the man.

"Hello? Who is there? No one is supposed to get extra food so come out and if this is supposed to be some sort of joke then it ain`t funny..." The man talked to the surrounding room.

Nebael crept behind his and quickly took the man’s head from his jaw and forehead between his hands and snapped the unsuspecting man’s neck, the man fell to the floor or almost until Nebael catched him and checked, if the man had the security card. Nebael cursed quiet and placed the corpse behind some crates in the room, and then he turned to look out of the room and saw an older man about 40 years old. Nebael saw the man enter and another come out, which seemed as a sift change and then Nebeal put on his stealth creeping behind the man to a quarters, which had 2 other men playing cards. Nebeal damned and went in hoping no one would hear him, the men talked and Nebeal got ready taking his gaffi stick out. He took three darts in his hands and threw one towards each men’s neck where it would quickly paralyze the brain and commands to the body, but mostly he hoped it to shut their mouths and he made sure, that the men would fall dead to the floor soon.

He hit one in the jaw with his gaffi sticks stabbing blade that was in the turning end of it. Then he speared the others chest with the more used blade and kicked the third victim in the face, who was sitting down. Few sounds were made, but no one came in to check because they assumed that the men were arguing or something. Nebeal placed the bodies under their beds and the man, who came out lost his arm when Nebael took out his gaffi stick and had to saw it away. He put it among his other equipment and finally took the card, and then he left the room camouflaged and made his way to the security room. He got to the door and had to wait till no one was around, he took the hand and placed it to a small handplace and it clicked. Nebael sighed from relief and almost got the card part done until he heard a small beep finding himself visible.

"Oh Bantha..." Nebael cursed seeing his own hand and turned around seeing a man pointing him with a blaster.

"Stop right there and drop ALL your weapons intruder!" the man yelled and Nebael smiled at him.

"With pleasure...."

He dropped the card and took his gaffi stick, which he suddenly threw at the man’s legs and the man dodged it, then he looked at Nebael and got a dart in his throat. The man fell down strangling by the poison effect and the fact that the dart had gotten into his breathing ways. Nebael quickly whipped the card trough getting access and behind him people yelled for backup. The guards were well on the way running towards the room, but Nebael ran to the room and the door closed slowing them down. Nebael took out his heavy blaster and shot the personnel in the chairs leaving one man in his chair too scared to move. Nebael went to him pointing at his head and pushed it against the man`s head, who mumbled few words.

"Please don’t hurt me... I’ll do anything you ask...”

Nebael smiled at the man and hit the man in the face with the blaster knocking him unconscious.

"I appreciate the offer, but I can control this place by myself thank you..."

Nebael sat down while the guard were opening the door at the moment and Nebael pushed the buttons like a madman, the guards got the guard trough, but then their access was denied. Nebael smiled for the fact, that only he could decide who goes in or out and began putting the systems security offline except what kept him away from the guards. He sent word to the Union people for the necrotroopers to attack and he would take care, that he would stay right there as the Union people would do the dirty work because his fighting was over unless the scientists were smart enough to stop the power of the whole facility.

The facility that Nebael had been infiltrating was owned by a pharmaceutical company called Trision United. The Belkadan facility was one of the largest concentrations of humans on the exotic jungle world. In the past... before the return to power of the mighty New Order, Belkadan had been an Imperial shipyard world. Simon Kaine, Grand Marshall of the Empire, had helped to suppress a rebellion on the world, and his flagship, the Galactus had made its maiden voyage to the world.

The Empire had long since left the planet. The chaos that reigned in the galaxy with the rise of the New Empire and the devastation of the Wraith Virus had forced the New Order to abandon many of its holdings in the Outer Rim, in a desperate attempt to consolidate a fractured empire. Belkadan had been abandoned. The Wraith virus had ravaged the world's population, becoming even deadlier when the virus mutated and mixed with several native pathogens to create an ultra-lethal form of the disease. Hundreds of thousands died. Those who could fled.

Nature reclaimed the world.

The jungle swallowed up the pathetic human attempts of civilization. Smugglers and other opportunists salvaged the shipyards. Belkadan returned to a more pristine state, albeit, one where a deadly disease lay dormant in the jungle.

The planet had been abandoned for years. Until Trision sent a medicinal research team to discover why Wraith had been so lethal on Belkadan (and to search Belkadan's jungle for undiscovered treasures that might lead to huge profits). It was a Trision team that first discovered the mutated Wraith virus, dubbed "Red Wraith" for the violent hemorrhaging it caused internally. The company set up the research facility to study this lethal pathogen, and continue combing Belkadan's jungles for anything useful they could find.

Overt measures by Union controlled companies to purchase the facility failed. A hostile takeover plan of Trision had failed when the company made a windfall profit off a compound it had isolated from an exotic plant found on Belkadan, and used the money to buy back its stock. The companies CEO had then dodged a pair of assassination attempts by hired Union thugs.

And so, with all methods exhausted, something more forceful had been cooked up.

"Red Wraith" was something to promising to pass up. It's tendency to cause huge amounts of bleeding made it fairly easy to spread, and if it could be weaponized, then it might prove to be an even more effective bio-weapon than its predecessor.

And so dozens of dropships began emerging from the underbelly of the Noir Soleil, ready to forcefully take what the Union had been unable to buy.

The guards heard the gun ships coming and sounded the red alert while trying to evacuate everything they could from the facility, but when they tried each door it was closed by Nebael from the security control room. Scientists ran around trying to take whatever they could with them, thinking ways to get out, and running towards the top floor trying to find some cover from the coming attack and some were questioning their facility leader for explanations. Soon the place was surrounded and necrotroopers guarded all exits, Nebael smiled because he was within a push of a button opening the door and unleashing the necrotroopers into the facility, but suddenly the door near him exploded and the guards attacked as Nebael got down. He took the blaster rifle and camouflaged, the guards crept towards the table where nebael was supposed to be.

"Come out with your hands up and we won’t shoot you intruder!"

One of guards yelled while Nebael was actually behind the poor man and snapped his neck; he appeared and began shooting at the guards who got cover. Nebael knew that soon he would be in the line of fire and took cover, he took out the thermal detonator and left it on the floor in case he had to use it, he jumped out and fired few times at the guards who were hiding behind whatever they could. Nebeal quickly jumped over the desk and rolled to the door behind the guards, he quickly turned on his knee and shot at them killing two. Nebael jumped out as the door began to close leaving the guards inside who had now hoped to activate the defences and kill the intruders or they would have had, if Nebael hadn’t left a thermal detonator in the room. Nebael drew a small remote launcher and blew the whole room killing all inside while causing an alarm in the whole systems so that the doors opened. A thing of security, that the manufacturer had made in case of problems so this worked to Nebael`s advantage. The necrotroopers swarmed in and shot all that dared to resist them and went into the line of fire without fear. Nebael now had to clear the base with the necrotroopers unless the trooper’s didn’t think of him as an enemy......

War breeds monstrosities.

It's common knowledge that it's easier to destroy than to create. Massive spaceships that are built in weeks and months are destroyed in minutes of battle. Cities that have been built over millennia are leveled in hours. Yes, it’s easier to destroy than to create- but its nearly as easy to create things that destroy.

The necrotroopers of the Union are the perfect example of something whose purpose is to destroy and is very easy to create. The brainchild of a twisted Falleen scientist, Dr. Mengax, a necrotrooper is the organic equivalent of a battledroid. The current incarnation, known as first generation necrotroopers, are slaves and other undesirables; acquired by the Union to become the mindless killing machines that they are.

A necrotrooper is simply a sentient being who has gone through an "indoctrination" process. The process involves having portions of their brain lobotomized, followed by the attachment of specialized cybernetic implants that subvert the free will of that being. They become a drone. They are outfitted with body armor, given a blaster rifle, and the process is complete.

Necrotroopers cannot feel pain. The can respond to verbal commands, even if the commands involve self-destruction. When given orders, they have a certain amount of initiative to carry them out, as they retain enough personal control to do things like take cover, or work as team. Mostly, though, they just kill.

The necrotrooper have another major advantage that the Union exploits. Their docile minds are extremely easy to dominate via the force, as they can offer no resistance. Thus, a powerful force user can control legions of necrotroopers, giving them cohesion, and making them more lethal and providing them with the brainpower and tactics they lack on their own. Tir Esias is the man who plays puppeteer.

He sat about a mile from the Trision facility, in one of the Union dropships that had delivered its batch of necrotoopers. Outside, for his protection, was a squad of the mercenaries the Union employed for jobs that the necrotroopers could not perform. Tir need their protection, as he would be very vulnerable as he directed the battle from afar.

He sat in the open bay of the landing craft; eyes closed behind the darkened glasses that shielding his blind eyes. He had gathered the Force around him, then reached out, touching the faint minds of the distant necrotroopers. They become extensions of him, their minds bending under his power. He was omnipresent, controlling all at once, both individually and as a group.

The necrotroopers stormed through the open doors, a wave of death and destruction washing over the facility. Nebael had made sure there would be no obstacles, and without their security systems, the guards never had a chance. The necrotroopers killed indiscriminately, mowing down guards with volleys of massed fire. The necrotroopers themselves were difficult to kill, Tir Esias's power and their implants forcing them to fight even if seriously wounded. Tir Esias would feel the sudden dampening of a mind, and release his control, allowing the corpse of the necrotrooper to fall.

It was a massacre. It was a monstrosity.

To the Union it was nothing but business.

Nebael heard the necrotroopers coming and the slaughter began, no one was spared and screams of pain came out. Soon the necrotroopers would come up stairs, but they weren’t Nebael main concern because he had to find the research lab because the Union perhaps could find something useful for their projects because this facility had gene manipulation projects on simple flowers and plants. Nebael began to sprint as the people around him ran in panic trying to find cover and an exit, but there wasn’t going to be any because the only exit was the main door, which was guarded by more than necrotroopers. Fear and despair were truly great weapons, the people around didn’t know where to go or how to act. Fear destroyed human’s ability to think clearly and to act as they should, but the ironical question was.

What could to they do against this invading force? Nothing and luckily Nebael wasn’t one of them except if the necrotroopers began shooting at him, but Nebael highly doubted because the union would have better use for him in the future than shooting cheaply him in the back on a research facility. Besides the necrotroopers we too busy wiping out the remaining guards and scientists, which of course would be replaced as if nothing had happened. Nebael saw dead bodies on the floor and didn’t feel guilty at al all tough it was his creation in a way, but he never had any pity on anyone or anything. Such was the life of a hunter, who has a hunger that can’t be stopped and all he actually was doing was trying to survive in the galaxy. In the galaxy Nebael saw few rules or clear things, the weak would fall and the strong would cast them aside taking whatever they had.

Nebael reached the labs and saw many scientists running around trying to save whatever they could, but some were beginning to destroy everything that it wouldn’t fall into the hands of the invaders. Nebael threw few darts towards the ones who had tried to destroy their work, they fell down strangling in pain caused by the poison. Nebael quickly rushed to find the main computer terminal; if they had found any source of electricity they could destroy all their information and records. The Union could probably use them all tough they weren’t that important, but still Nebael never intended to leave something undone, if there was something to do. He found one scientist and two guards on the main console trying to get it to work; the guards noticed Nebael and shot at him so he took cover. Nebael activated the stealth and walked where he was before the fire and took out his blaster. Nebael shot the guards and took the scientist up with his hand, but suddenly when the scientist was up someone shot the scientist in the head spreading his brains all over. Nebael looked back ready to fire with his stealth off, he saw a necrotrooper standing there pointing at the Nebael. The trooper never tried to shoot Nebael, but the scientist because no one was supposed to be left alive. Nebael cleaned his armour and clothes, and then he left the room seeing the battle over. Bodies filled the corridor sides and necrotroopers were securing the building, Nebael walked trough the horror and stepped out of the building to the day. Nebael saw what they Union could do and decided that it was better not to make any demands or threats. Nebael left for his ship knowing that Esias and the Union would be happy by the result of his work. Nebael arrived on his ship and entered; he put all his equipment away and sat in the cockpit while he opened the hailing sequences to the Star Destroyer Noir Soleil.

“I hope you are satisfied by work mr Esias and I hope that you can keep your part, which is the payment keep the hangar ready… I’m coming up.. Nebael out”

Nebael started the engines of the krayt`s fang and made his way towards the star destroyer for his payment, which would be generous knowing the Union…

Tir Esias stood up. As he did so, he cut his mental link to the necrotroopers, which had become an unnecessary burden. All resistance had been crushed. The necrotroopers would manage without his direction for awhile.

"Pilot, return us to the Noir Soleil "

The ride to the star destroyer was short an uneventful. Tir Esias made his way from the hangar bay to the bridge of the ship. He was quickly approached by one of the ship's officers.

"Sir, we have received a transmission from the bounty hunter. He's making his way here and ready for his compensation."

"Send a welcoming party to the hangar, and give him this."

Tir Esias produced a credit chip from the inside of his coat. It contained a hefty sum that would be Nebeal's payment. The officer went off to carry out the order, leaving Tir alone to watch the bridge crew in action.

The operation still had one final phase before it was completed. The necrotroopers were currently stripping the Trision facility down to the bare walls. Once everything had been transported to a safe location, the Noir Soleil was going to bombard the base into smithereens. The jungle would reclaim the land, and the base would become nothing more than a tragic industrial accident.

Crews were already preparing to transport down to the surface, to construct a new, near replica of the Trision facility. The captured Trision scientists would be put to work, and the research would continue unabated. With luck (and a little coercion) the Union’s arsenal would soon contain a deadly bio-weapon- one which had ravaged the galaxy in perhaps the greatest pandemic ever.

A computerized voice range out over the bridge.

“One hour until commencement of planetary bombardment.”

Unable to watch the fireworks, Tir decided to make his way to the hangar bay to meet up with Nebeal, and congratulate him on a job well done. The bounty hunter had performed well, which boded well for his continued relationship with the Union.
