“The High Command has decided that the time has come for an all-out assault on Jutraalian holdings. The invasion of Thyferra has set the music – we must change the holostation.” There was a series of agreements from the combined officers, and Bhindi smiled grimly at their holograms. “The targets have been chosen, the details are being transmitted now. You should have time in hyperspace to make sure you are ready” she continued. “Vice-Admiral Sez, you will be striking the world of Averam.” The officer with one eye nodded and saluted.
“Yes, Admiral.” His hologram flickered out as his ship no doubt brought its deflector shields up, testing systems for the coming conflict. “Admiral Varsenna, you will take Thyferra.” The man, likewise, nodded.
“Yes, Admiral.” He said, his voice hard. A bit to much so, in fact. “Remember, Admiral, this is not a chance at revenge. The Jutraalians will be repaid in full for the destruction of the Thyferran Defence Fleet… and the desecration of our Sovereign Space. But not at the expense of our overall strategy.” The Admiral nodded again, his eyes growing hard as well.
“I understand, Admiral.”
“Be sure you do. I will not tolerate rash actions among this fleet, Admiral.” The hologram vanished with a final salute.“Admiral Yasson…”

Admiral Varsenna glowered at the sensor console, his eyes tracking the fleet’s progress through hyperepace. Thyferra was only minutes away, now. Thyferra… where the Jutraalians had forced their way onto the planet and begun their own form of wicked ‘justice’. His native Thyferra, where Jutraalian soldiers would not be raping the planet’s woman. The tyrannic government could cover it up all they liked… Admiral Varsenna knew the truth of the matter well enough. He’d seen worlds that the Rogue Empire had ‘liberated’, the damage they did wherever they went.

He wondered briefly is Fleet Admiral Drayson had made a mistake in sending him to Thyferra… what if he was so overcome with anger that he made a foolish dcision? But, he corrected himself midly, Bhindi Drayson would not make such an error. The Jutraalian Empire would learn the folly of war with the Unholy Alliance, by his hand…

The Academy had taught him well enough the standard ways of winning out against the enemy, and all of those and more had had put to good use fighting the Empire’s wars. It was time to pass on what he had learned.

“Admiral! We’re coming out of hyperspace. Enemy contact ahead.” The Admiral nodded, smiling. To war, then. Now I am the teacher.

“Launch fighters, screening positions. Shields up, weapons armed. Jam their communications… and see if we can track those communications satallites. Lable them secondary targets. Let’s see what the Jutraalians have left us, then.”
