The Imperial Frigate Black Knight glided through the blackness of space. Or rather, the brightness of space, when one took into consideration their location. For off to their left, set the brilliant cluster of stars known as the Deep Core. And then, off to their right, sat the even denser cluster of stars known as the Koornacht Cluster, located in the Farlax Sector. Sitting in his chair on the bridge of the Frigate, Commodore Braxus waited for updates to come in from the various pickets, and scouts deployed to probe the cluster. Although the Empire owned N'Zoth, and Galantos, among others, there yet remained several planets ripe for the conquest. Now they waited to hear word from the scouts and pickets to see whether or not any rogue bands of Yevetha now inhabitied the planets. Then, all the much sooner than he expected, word came in.........
"Commander, word coming in from Picket Ship Black Eagle Twelve. Yevethan presence confirmed at Wakiza, and a powerful one at that. Black Eagle Eleven has been disabled and tractored by a enemy corvette. Fleet strength estimates will be coming in shortly......." stated the communications officer.
"Send orders to all Black Eagle pickets to converge in that area. Have three recon the enemy fleet, and the rest are to attempt to either rescue or destroy Black Eagle Eleven." ordered the Commodore.
In System, Wakiza
Captian Snider of the Intrepid class Gunship Drake led his ship into the Wakize system, with seven other Intrepids following him in. Also on standby were two Constrainer class Pickets, and a Prowler, captured from the New Republic sometime earlier. And then their was their objective, either destroy or free the Constrainer Picket in the grasp of the enemy corvette now proceeding to rejoin the enemy fleet, which was pretty large by standard planetery defense parameters. Three ships, now identified as Armadia class Thrustships, had dedocked from the main defense station, and were now in route to intercept the corvette before it was overtaken by the eight gunships.
"Load all of our torpedo tubes, and charge our turbolaser cannons. Let's try to knock em out before we resort to blowing up our own comrades." ordered the Captian. There was a hum and clicking noise as automatic winches and lifts shoved the torpedoes into the two octect launchers, and closed the hatches on them, as well as there being a thrumming noise as the turbolasers were charged up.
"Communicate with the other gunships. Let's launch a coordinated torpedo strike at the lead Thrustship. After torpedoes are away, have the turbolasers fire on the corvette. Let's try to cripple her engines." ordered Captian Snider.
After exactly five minutes had gone by, the missiles aboard board the eight gunships let loose. Timing near perfectly, the quad turbolaser cannons also opened fire, on the corvette. One hundred twenty eight proton torpedoes arced in towards the first Yevethan Thrustship. Then turbolaser fire from a combined total of twenty four quad turbolaser emplacements began to rain upon the corvette. But amazingly enough, it's shields held.......
Aboard the Black Knight
Telementry was being transmitted to them from the Prowler that was on the edge of the system. It showed his eight gunships convering upon and firing missiles at the lead thrustship, and hurling turbolaser fire at the corvette. The commodore shifted uneasily as he watched the battle unfold, with his aide taking up station behind him.
"From the looks of it, the battle should be over quickly." stated the aide.
"For them, or for us?" asked the Commodore.
"For them, of course. We have their ships outnumbered. At look at how many torpedoes we are able to bring against these enemies. Three torpedo salvos will be all that's needed to take out the three Thrustships. And in the meantime, our turbolaser fire will whittle down the corvette, allowing our picket ship to flee. It will be over in five minutes, and all we are likely to get for our troubles is a slap on the rist." stated the aide.
"Well see." said the Commodore. Somehow he doubted it was going to turn out that way at all.
Back aboard the Drake
"Captian, our missiles will impact in ten........nine..........eight..........seven" counted down the sensors officer. Then, a few moments later, explosions lit up the sky, as barrage after barrage of torpedoes impacted against the shields of the Thrustship. When the explosions ceased, Captian Snider asked for a report.
"Enemy shields are down. Hull, is estimated to be, at Eighty Percent!" stated the sensors officer with clear suprise, fully expecting the enemy ship to be destroyed.
"Sir, incoming missile tracks!" screamed the sensors officer, "Fighter launches are also being detected on the enemy ships. And they are accelerating!"
"Dammit! Order Black Eagles Five and Six to fire all their turbolasers and torpedoes on our captured Constrainer Picket. All other ships, retreat, repeat, retreat. Head to our rendezvous coordinates." ordered the Captian.
A host of turbolaser fire and torpedos descended upon the Constrainer Picket, destroying it utterly. Then the Imperial warships began to flee the system, followed in hot pursuit by the enemy warships.........

A conference was held in the war room of the Imperial Star Destroyer Decimator following the unsuccessful attempt to rescue the Constrainer class Picket that had been captured by the Yevethan forces, requiring a pair of gunships to destroy it instead. That, and anaylzing tatics when the gunships that had been used in the abortive rescue attempt had fled the battle, with six of them being destroyed in the process. Present, by holocamm, was the Grand Marshal Simon Kaine, and three of Vice Admiral Kraken's Commodores, Huey, Barxus, and Carson, to be exact. The holocamm showed the gunships streaking in on the enemy corvette, with the three thrustships coming in on an intercept vector. The gunships fired a large missile barrage, and then opened fire on the corvette with their turbolaser cannons. The missiles hit the thrustship, but with little effect, destroying it's shields, and battering it's hull slightly, whereas the Imperial captian in charge of the attack had expected the enemy thrustship to be utterly destroyed by the more than one hundred capital ship grade proton torpedo barrage. Then they watched as the Corvette's shields actually held under the powerful turbolaser barrage. By the time the shields on the corvette fell, it was too late to save the Constrainer Picket, for the Thrustships had caught up. The Armadia class ships launched a thirty missile barrage, instantly destroying two of the Intrepid Gunships. Then the remaning six Intrepids launched all of their reloaded torpedo tubes at the Constrainer Picket Ship, destroying it utterly. Then they had tried to fled. Two to port, Two to starboard, and two more straight in reverse, or down on the tatical display map. One Thrustship took off in pursuit of each pair of Intrepid gunships. The two Gunships fleeing straight down fired their turbolasers on their pursuing Thrustship, which had lost it's shields, and anaylzers are still trying to figure out what the turbolasers had hit, when the Thrustship suddenly and violentley exploded. The other two Armadia class ships had launched their Tri-foil fighters at the two retreating gunships that had destroyed the one Thrustship, but the gunships were already well on their way out of the engagement. Then, in mere moments, the two Armadia class ships eliminated the other four gunships. The two Thrustships fired each four Gravity Bombs at one gunship each. Two gunships were immediatly destroyed in this manner. The last two were killed when the Armadia ships shuttled all of their batteries forward on the racks, and fired precision shots against the gunships, first blowing past their shields, and then impacting against the vital points of their hull, destroying them. With the four gunships destroyed, all that remained now were the final two gunships. But it was too late. With a flickering light, the two ships jumped into hyperspace.
And that was that. The Grand Marshal was the first to speak.
"So tell me, Commodores. It is apparent that the Yevetha are up to their usual tricks. Have there been any noticeable changes in thier strategy, tatics, or technology?" asked the Grand Marshal.
"Well sir, there is some change in their technology." stated Commodore Braxus, "Based on what the other various reconissance units have told us, Wakiza is now home to about four large ships, about the size of Imperial Star Destroyers in length, with about half as much again broadness. We are not wholly sure, but judging from the lack of weapons emplacements, we judge these ships to be carriers of some sort." stated the Commodore.
"Carriers? But what use would the Yevethans have for carriers? Their thrustships can carry three squadrons of Tri-foil fighters apiece." said the Grand Marshal.
Now, this time, it was Commodore Carson that spoke up. "Well sir, it appears that the Yevethan have developed a new type of bomber, similar to the New Republic's K-wing bomber. Imperial agents have managed to steal some blueprints for this bomber. It's a pretty big craft, but has powerful weapons, and engines. Big, Fast, and Deadly. But we do have an advantage in that it is easily destroyable." said the Commodore.
"And we have another problem, Grand Marshal." this time it was Commodore Huey that spoke up. "Based on some pictures taken by our scouts, it appears that the carriers are being loaded not only with these new bombers, but also with shuttles, and dropships. It appears that the Yevetha are preparing to launch an invasion. It seems that the target of the invasion will be N'zoth. It appears that the Yevetha want to recapture their so called spawnworld." said the Commodore.
"Very well. I am issuing new orders. Under my orders, all avilable Imperial units operationing in the Farlax sector are hearby ordered to converge on your coordinates. Then, under the leadership of you three, the assembled Imperial fleet will lead an invasion of Wakiza, and capture the planet. However, that goal is secondary. The main one is to entrap and destroy the entire enemy armada and their space stations." ordered the Grand Marshal.
"Yes sir." responded the Commodores as the Grand Marshal's holocomm signal disconnected, causing the holovision of him to disappear.........

The Imperial Star Destroyer Decimator was the first warship to arrive within the system of Wakizia, followed shortly by one Torpedo Sphere, three Carrack class Light Cruisers, two Fire class Light Frigates, six B2 Escort Frigates, and finally, Forty Intrepid class Gunships. Defenders, and Devils immediatly spilled out of the fighter bays of the Imperial warships, and formed up into a screen. Sensors sweeps immediatly swept across the system and revealed the presence of several large warships, and some smaller ones. Total enemy fleet size was twenty five vessels of the capital size, and five hundred more of the starfighter sized. Commodre Braxus was pleased to learn that the enemy apparently had a lot less starfighters than what was originally estimated. The Yevethan fleet quickly formed up, with the four large carriers forming the heart of the war fleet, with the six Yevethan Star Destroyers quickly taking the flank. Out in front the fifteen Armadia class Thrustships took the lead, and proceeded to jet ahead of the main Yevethan Taskforce along with most of their starfighters, obviously to attack and weaken the Imperials before the main fleet arrived. But Commodore Braxus would have none of that. With a quick order he released Commodores Carson and Huey to proceed and attack the enemy forces with their ships. The B2 Escort Frigates and Intrepid class Gunships, along with the Imperial starfighters, headed forwards from the main fleet in to engage the Yevethan formation. The Imperial fleet started the battle by firing a large number of proton torpedoes from the gunships and starfighters at the lead enemy Thrustships. Explosions momentarily darkened the viewport of the ISD, and when it cleared, the remains of one Thrustship disspated, while four more veered off course with numerous holes in their hulls venting flames and gasses. Then the starfighters engaged with a violent dance of death. The TIE Defenders immediatly began to take losses, but the Yevethan lost far more as the Imperial TIE Devils began their muderous rampages.
Then the range closed to where both sides could unleash their torrents of turbolaser weaponry. The lanes between the two opposing fleets lit up as both sides opened fire. Both sides now once again used their missiles, this time using them to open gaps in the other's shields to fire through with their energy weapons. Several bright explosions lit up the battlefield as Yevethan Gravity Bombs detonated against Imperial shields, and in some cases, Imperial hulls. Several series of staggered explosions told the stories of Imperial and Yevethan warships being destroyed. Then, a brief pause in firing as both formations of warships passed one another, and turned around to come back at one another again. Two Imperial frigates did not make the turn. Upon closer inspection it appeared that one was dead in the water, or so to say, with it's engine compartments smashed by a brace of Yevethan Gravity Bombs. The other had it's steering vanes blown off by Yevethan missile impacts, and had to do the turn the slow way by manipulating it's thrusters. Also, the wreckage of three Intrepid Gunships lay scattered here and there. Other vessels were showing signs of hull damage and breaches. Of the Yevethan warships, five Thrustships were destroyed, and three more suffered moderate to heavy damage. This left two Thrustships fully capable of fighting the Imperial fleet. The Thrustship commanders apparently knew this, and made a suicide run at the Imperial fleet, their remaining fighters making suicidal runs on the smaller Imperial ships. Within another three minutes it was over. The wreckage of eight Intrepid Gunships, and one Imperial frigate lay in the battlefield, along with the skeletons of ten Armadia class Thrustships. All of the Yevethan fighters had been destroyed, along with a fairly good number of the Imperial TIE Defenders. Now came the hard part. The Yevethan fleet accelerated to flank speed. Commodore Braxus ordered his own fleet forward, and all missile launchers to be loaded. At several minutes to engagement with the Yevethan fleet, Commodore Braxus ordered all torpedoes and missiles to be fired on the lead two Yevethan Star Destroyers. A Thousand Proton torpedoes were fired, and in moments both Star Destroyers were pieces of wreckage littering the system. But it was still bad odds for the Imperial fleet. Then, the Yevethan ships engaged..........

The Imperial ships dove head first into the Yevethan formation, turbolasers and ion cannons blazing away at distinct targets while the Yevethan aim was constantly shifted from one ship to another, finally settling on the Imperial Star Destroyer Decimator. The Yevethan Star Destroyers were quickly being whittled down, while the Yevethan Carriers, although they were being pounded, were giving the smaller Imperial warships a good beating as well. Soon, one Yevethan Star Destroyer, was drifting through the Imperial formation, it's guns along with all the rest of it's systems having fallen silent thanks to the combined efforts of the Decimator and several frigates to disable it with ion cannons. When the shields on another Yevethan Star Destroyer buckled under the combined turbolaser onslaught of the Imperial fleet, the Imperial Torpedo Sphere Folly sent a full Proton Torpedo Salvo of 500 torpedoes at it, and in a blaze of light, explosions, and fire, the Yevethan Star Destroyer disentegrated, leaving two more to be dealt with. But the Imperials had suffered grevious losses in the meantime. All togehter, in exchange for the destruction of two Yevethan Star Destroyers, one Fleet Carrier, the Imperials had lost five gunships, a light frigate, a carrack cruiser, and the fleet flagship, the Imperial Star Destroyer Decimator, was having it's shields torn apart by the remaining two Yevethan Star Destroyers. Commodore Braxus was qucikly running out of options.....

"Send a comm signal to coordinates Alpha, Bravo, Charley, and call in the entirety of our reinforcements." shouted Commodore Braxus with glee and a smile on his face. All this time, through all of this battle, he had been holding reinforcements in reserve, for when he had the Yevethan fleet in just the right place, he would make the move. And so, a short time later, shooting out of hyperspace was the 3rd Division of Vice Admiral Kraken's fleet, consisting of the Reign class Star Destroyer Intimidator, newly comissioned, and still working up, all though it's looking to be all right. Following behind it was the Illustrious class Fast Attack Cruiser Hawk, along with the eight Fire class Light Frigates the Grand Marshal had sent as reinforcements, and finally a group of ten Corellian class Gunships.
The newly arrived fleet immediatly deployed their starfighters to assault the Yevethan Star Destroyers, while the Fire Light Frigates jetted forwards to add their quad laser cannons to the elimination task of the Yevethan Starfighters. Two Yevethan Star Destroyers, and three Fleet Carriers were left by the time the reinforcements arrived. One Yevethan Star Destroyer was quickly dispatched by a large missile strike lead by the Hawk, and the gunships, and bolstered by the starfighters. The final one was consumed by laser fire from all of the various warships surronding and coverging upon it. This just left the three fleet carriers left. Seeing the predicament they were in, they turned tail to flea, leaving their remaining starfighter squadrons to die at the hands of the Fire class Light Frigates. Commodore Braxus saw the Fleet Carriers joining up with the Armadia class Thrustships, and a host of freighters, and transports that were obviously evacuees of the planet of Wakiza, and ordered a pursuit. Just as the group of Yevethan warships were approaching the edge of the gravity well, and preparing for the jump into hyperspace, Commodore Braxus ordered the Inditimidator to deploy it's gravity wells. Screwed, with no where to go, the Yevethan fleet executed an about face, and charged head long at the Imperial squadron.
Commodore Braxus ordered all undamaged ships to chase the Yevethan squadron as it fled. When he saw the Yevethan Squadron execute an about face, and charge, he ordered all of his capital ships to execute a turn, and form a line of battle. He ordered all missile able craft to fire on the three fleet carriers, and for the fleet's energy weapons to fire on them as well, except for the ion cannons which would fire on the Thrustships. Thousands of Proton Torpedoes, and Concussion Missiles leapt across the distance covering the two fleets, and impacted against the hulls of the fleet carriers. Detonation after Detonation occured, cofnusing sensors, and nearly blinding everyone that was staring out the viewports, including Brand. When the lights dimmed, and the dust settled, the three fleet carriers were gone, victims of mass missile strikes followed up by concentrated heavy turbolaser fire. But now the Imperials had more problems. The Carriers had managed to get off a missile salvo, followed more missiles from the Thrustships, and then the Thrustships had launched a salvo of their deadly Gravity Bombs. Commodore Braxus ordered all ships to brace for impact, and on those ships that had a missile self defence system, ordered those to become active and try to screen the target ship from the missiles and Gravity Bombs. Fortunatley, the Yevethan strike wasn't coordinated, nor was it focused upon just one or two ships, but seven or eight. The Hawk took a pair of gravity bombs to her side after she had dispatch five missiles, and took five more to her shields. Her shield power was now down to about forty percent, but due to her unique design, power was rerouted from her engines into her shields, and she was like brand new all over again, save for he decrease in maximum speed. Other ships took less severe hits, and in the end, all of them still had their shields. The Decimator, and Intimidator joined together in targeting the thrustships while the others finished off the freighters, and the transports.
Within minutes it was all over, an entire enemy fleet having been dispatched at a relativley moderate cost, the Imperial fleet losing three Modified Frigates, ten Intrepid Gunships, and one hundred starfighters of various kinds. The losses did not concern him. What did concern him was the status of Commodre Huey, injured when his flagship was damaged by a missile from a carrier. He was listed in critical condition, and hurriedly tossed into a bacta tank, with many burns and deep cuts all over his body. Commodore Braxus hoped that he would be all right. His attention turned to the planet down below. Now it was time for the stormtroopers and walkers to go in...........

Vice Admiral Kraken strode to the front viewport of the Star Destoyer he was on, an Allegiance class vessel. Due to other conflicts dividing the Empire's attention, the operations to capture and secure two other worlds of the Koornacht cluster had been cancelled, but since this operation was under way it was decided to carry on, and qucikly capture it so that operations elsewhere could be focused upon. A large operation against the Outer-Rim Sovereignty was about to begin, and Admiral Kraken wished to devote as many resources as possible to the operation. For now he turned back from the viewport, and headed down to the war room in order to breif his other commanders on the operation that was about to be launched.......
Meanwhile, above the Yevethan world of Wakiza
Commodore Braxus observed as the drop ships, and shuttles, escorted by the TIE Fighters, and Bombers, descended into the atmosphere of Wakiza. The ships were carrying the Imperial Seventh Army, the main army of the Mid-Rim, as well as several companies of the First Army from the Empire Proper, which would garrison the world after it was captured, and added to Empire Proper. The world contained nearly a million Yevetha, of which an estimated one hundred thousand formed an army, and another fifty thousand had formed a colonial militia. The Imperial Army that was being lowered to the surface consisted of four divisions totalling eight thousand men, as well as twenty All terrain armoured transports, and thirty all terrain scout transports. Although slightly outnumbered, the Imperial troops were better motivated, and much better equipped than their counterparts in the Yevethan army. As for Yevethan armour and support, numerous artillery places were noted, and should soon be flattened by TIE Bombers making their runs on the facilities. As well, reports were coming in from spies disguised with captured Ooglith Masquers that the Yevetha had Ultra Light Assault Vehicles, and numerous Hovertanks as well, of a superior type than most found throughout the galaxy. In case the Imperial Army should need help in dealing with these threats, Imperial fighters were on hand to help deal with the Ultra Lights, and all the Imperial Army had to do with the Scouts was radio up coordinates for a planetery bombardement.
The Imperial Army had reached their destined landing field, in a forest not far from a Yevethan city of moderate size. Already four Ultra Lights had been detected moving out from the city and over the forests, heading for the landing field, while numerous groups of Yevethan Commandoes were deploying into the forests. A squadron of Imperial TIE Fighters swooped in, each group of three fighters targeting a ULAV with their twin laser cannons, and blasting them as they swooped by with a resouding roar that shook the forest. Laser Artillery emplacements in the city, as well as the ULAVs, fired back at the Imperial fighters, sending two into the forest with flames and smoke trailing from their engines, and forcing a third to withdraw with wing damage. But all four ULAVs were destroyed from this assault, their remains crashing into the forest floor below. Then, a loud roar defeaned the local part of the jungle, and the town. Spotting something coming in from above, the artillery emplacements in the city swiveled upwards, but far too late, for a squadron of TIE Bombers dive bombed from above, each one releasing four concussion bombs before winging away. A large series of explosions, followed by earthquake like effects from the concussion blasts, leveled a good part of the city, and silenced the artillery emplacements forever. From a high tree near the Imperial beachhead, an Impeiral Commando that had a laser sniper rifle with a laser pointer trained on that part of the city smiled, radioing a job well done to the bombers before debarking off of the tree and joining his comrades as they advanced forwards. So far the Imperial operation was going well, but the Imperial troops could not forsee the slaughter about to occur in their ranks...........

The Yevethan Commandoes stalked diligently and with deadly intent and purpose through the forest, while at the the same time, a short distance away, Imperial infantry, and machines crashed through the forest, with the same intent and purpose of that of the Yevetha. The Yevethan Commandoes were armed with old T-21s, and their own claws, wearing nothing but green pants, as they blent in well with their surronding enviorment. The Imperials, in contrast, wore contrasting colors. Most of the stormtroopers wore bright white uniforms, while some other, specialized jungle commandoes, wore green uniforms. Behind and among the Imperial Infantry formations clanked a small group of Imperial all terrain scout transports.
The first hand to hand contact between the Yevetha, and the Imperials would occur at a point in the forest five kilometers from the city. The Yevetha had set up an ambush here, with about two hundred Yevethan lined up, crouched, with their blaster rifles held at the ready, while another three hundred waited, either carefully suspened in trees, or hidden in the ground off to the sides, waited for their chance to charge the Imperial formation, and slice them up with thier deadly claws. The advance group of Imperials, some fifty strong, consisting of forty regulars, eight commandoes, and two officers, came within ten meters of the Yevethan formation before the Imperials spotted a Yevethan. As they prepared to open fire on him, all of the rifled Yevetha opened fire. Twelve Imperials dropped in the first moment alone. The Commandoes armed and threw frag grenades into the bushes as the Imperial troops dove for cover, and returned fire. The one remaining officer spread the warning on his comlink, and requested reinforcements before he was gunned down. More Imperial troops fell as the Yevetha advanced.
Then, the Yevetha faced their next challenge, for responding to the call was a whole Battalion of infantry, some four hundred troops with their accompayning commandoes, and officers. One hundred rifled Yevethan remained, a large number having been killed by the above mentioned frag grenades. But all the other Yevetha still remained, and were still in hiding. When the Imperial forces engaged, the concealed Yevetha finally made their move. They swung down from the trees, and ran in on the Imperial's flanks, cutting and slicing with their sharp claws as they went, leaving blood and body limbs scattered about in their flank.
On the heels of the Imperial Infantry Battalion came a group of fifty crack commandoes, some with Xerrol Nightstinger sniper rifles. When they saw the Imperials getting ambushed, they set up their weapons, and took precise shots, taking down Yevetha whenever they had the opprotunity to do so. The Imperial Infantry Battalion fought back bravely as well, blasting some of the Yevetha at point blank range, and using their vibroswords to fight them as well. A group of ten stormtroopers, supported by six commandoes, detached from the main fight, and carefully snuck up on and eliminated the remaining seventy five rifled Yevetha with precise blaster shots, and more frag grenades.
Five minutes later it was all over. In a little clearing in a forest, and around it too, lay the bodies of five hundred Yevetha, and three hundred Imperial soldiers. Of those, only two hundred Imperials were actually dead, the others dropped and injured either because of dislocated limbs, or deep cuts that had them paralyzed and going into shock. Corpsemen and medics were quickly brought forwards, and the remaining men in the battalion were broken up into patrol groups for the remaining duration of the battle.
A message was prepared and dispatched to Vice Admiral Kraken, informing him of the unfortunate losses, and asking for advice on how to prevent further losses of this nature. The message read, "Vice Admiral Kraken, I regret to inform you that one of our Infantry Battalions has been decimated by an Yevethan ambush. Three hundred Imperial troops are downed, in exchange for five hundred Yevethan killed. How might best we go about preventing from another such tragedy from occuring?"
Kraken stood up from his seat on his flagship, and he sent a message direct both to his Naval Commander, and Army Commander stationed at the Battle of Wakiza. "Direct the Imperial Army to deploy it's scout walkes ahead of the main force, along with a force of fifty crack commandoes armed with precision rifles, and heat detection equipment. That is the best advice I can think of at this time." said Kraken, before sealing the message, and having it sent.

The Imperial army pushed forwards, and captured the city with relative ease. The other Yevethan troops were unaccounted for, which worried the drop commander. Then, a series of frantic messages from the landing site told the drop commander where the other Yevethan troops had gone. With most of the Imperial army marching forwards, the Yevetha had moved around the army in a wide loop, and had now launched an attack on the dropships, and the garrison base that was being set up. TIE Fighters quickly zoomed in, their twin laser cannons firing repeadetly as they strafed the forest floor, blowing up multipule Yevethan tanks, and ground infantry. Elsewhere around the planet, the Imperial army was suprisingly successful, except in the captial city where much heavier resistance was being offered than originally estimated. Commdore Braxus attributes this easier time to the now realized fact that much of the Yevethan army had been loaded onto the carriers in preparation for the counter strike, and hopeful recapture of N'zoth.
Still, Imperial casualties ran high, and by the end of the first week, ten thousand Imperial personnel on the ground had met their deaths. But in the end of the first week, 74% of the planet had been conquered. Garrison bases, and starfighter pads had been set up all over the place, and reinforcements of fighters, bombers, walkers, and infantry was continually forthcoming from the Empire Proper protectorate.
Finally, on the ninth day, Wakiza was secured, and was now ready to be officially added to the Empire. Cleanup operations had now begun. Finally, the three Commodores could relax, now that they had carried out the task required by Admiral Kraken. But it wasn't long before Admiral Kraken would call for the return of the ships to use against another enemy above a planet called Af'el........
