Her First Mission....

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Her first mission.... Her first chance to prove that she was Loyal to the Hapes Consortium. Her first chance at a grasp of power....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> She stood calmly aboard the Imperial Star Destroyer <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Heir of Ratkus<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> with her hands folded nearly behind her back. The Command Bridge of an Imperial-Class Star Destroyer was much larger than she had anticipated. It’s large, gray metallic control panels, and it’s busy crew.... It was all so, delicate and powerful. She turned to the Navigations officer as she stood, overlooking the blank backdrop of space that lay before her. She had seen it once before, as a child, but never did she dream that she would see it from the view of a Command bridge on a powerful military vessel. Flanking the port, and starboard sides of the ship, were the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Formidable, Invincible, Incisor, Nova, Slicer, and Carmens Steed<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, several different classes of carriers. Patrolling the vicinity of the small Floatilla were several squadrons of TIE Phantoms.

“How close are we, Lieutenant?” Akinyelle asked as the Navigations officer saluted to her.

“We should be arriving outside of <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Maires<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> within the next hour, or so, Captain.”

She nodded her head, and turned back to the thick glass windows separating her from the darkness of space outside. The blue planet of <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Maires<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> was slowly coming into plain view, starting out as a mere speck among the glowing dots, and then gradually growing in size as the Floatilla approached it.

<!--EZCODE CENTER START-->
<!--EZCODE BOLD START--> The Maires System, Fifty Four Minutes Later....<!--EZCODE BOLD END-->
<!--EZCODE CENTER END-->

“Captain, we’re approaching the Planet of Maires, and we are receiving a frequency from the Planet’s governing force.”

Akinyelle nodded, moving over to the visual communications panel as a blue haze appeared in the shape of the water-breathing species, known as the <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Marians<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->, natives to the planet Maires. She smiled at the figure as a small holocam floated in front of her face, allowing the Marian to see her, as she could see him.

“Greetings from the Hapan Royal Navy, my lord.” Akinyelle said in a peaceful, inviting tone.

The fishlike creature made a strange <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> gurgle<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> sound, which she wasn’t sure if it was a word, or some sort of communication. She looked around for a moment as the crew on the Command Bridge paused, watching her as she attempted to communicate with the species. A strange musical chant began to play as the fishlike creature raised a beautiful robust shell to his fishlike mouth. She looked around once more as the enchanting music continued to play, it’s tone warming and inviting.
“Can someone please bring me a Protocal Droid? I believe he is attempting to communicate.” Akinyelle asked as two crewmembers stood from their seats, and began speaking into a ship-wide intercom. Within a few moments, a silver Protocal droid waddled up next to her.

“Greetings. I am C4-D3, Human Cyborg Relations.”

She nodded her head, and looked back at the blue haze as the music continued to play through the frail shell that the Maires held to his mouth.

“Can you translate that, C4?” she asked in a soft tone, listening to the enchanting, and divine tune of the shell.

“Yes, as you know, I am fluent in over 6 billion forms of...”

Before the droid could continue, Akinyelle looked at him, impatience in her eyes.

“Yes, of course.” the droid said.

The inviting music of the shell continued to play over the communications link as the droid stood for a moment, taking in the speech.

“He says, To what do I owe the pleasure of such a visit, Captain?”

Akinyelle smiled, and looked down at the fuzzy blue haze.

“Tell him that we wish to negotiate a possible treaty of eternal friendship between the Hapes, and the Maires.”

The Protocal droid stepped up to the visual communicator, and began to whistle the same tune as the Shell played, it’s soft tone soothing to the soul. A few minutes of communication, and the shell’s tone began to grow more dark, and less inviting.

The Protocal droid turned around, and, in a low tone, began to speak. “The Supreme Magistrate of the Council of Maires will hear no such talks of peace. He says, he remembers and the Maires remember the event of the Vergills, and their undersea ditanium mining operation outside of the Mairan consulate several years ago, and it is an unforgivable act of hostility.”

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Silence....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> A long, agonizing silence. Akinyelle stood, shocked at the message from the Supreme Magistrate, and his views of the Hapan Monarchy.

“C4, tell him that our previous relationship has been blemished, but the future holds a more powerful, and firm alliance for the Mairan people, if they so wish it.”

The droid nodded his head, and began to whistle the soft tone of the heavenly music that the Mairan people used as a language. After he finished, there was a long silence. A silence that remained unbroken. A silence that would not be forgotten.

Everyone stared at the glowing blue haze, as it continued to fizzle, the shape of the Supreme Magistrate of the planet Maires, his tentacles shifting from left to right, stood silent. Not a word, or gurgle. Not a mystical, musical hum. Nothing.

After several minutes of Silence, the blue haze cut off, and the I.S.D. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Heir of Ratkus<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> shook, throwing Akinyelle to the floor, and the droid against the hard metallic blue wall. The crew on the command bridge rushed around as the ‘Red Alert’ buttons began to flash, and the warning sirens began to go off.

“We’re under attack!” cried one of the weapons officers.

“Man your battle stations! Raise shields!” cried another.

Akinyelle stood quickly, running over to the command bridge’s view ports.

“Get me the status of there planetary defenses!” Akinyelle yelled as the ship rocked once more. “And get the shields up!”

OOC: Um, this is my first IC post. I recently joined the Hapes Consortium, and the names of the ship are not my decision. They were simply assigned to me by the Crowned Prince of the Hapan Monarchy.

By the way, can you please minimize Out of Character posts in this thread? Thanks.

The Bombardment to the Hapan Royal Navy continued as heavy turbolasers slammed into the vessels shields. Carriers had begun launching fighters, to avoid the possible damage that could be done to them, if the ship were rocked enough to turn them over.

“Captain Daala, the Planet is guarded by only <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> KDY Advanced Turbolaser Emplacements<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> on several small islands on the planet’s oceanous terrain. If you were to launch every squadron we have to the surface to scout, and destroy these turbolasers, the planet would surely have no chance of defending themselves against our fleet.”

Akinyelle shifted as the I.S.D. rocked underneath her.

“Shields holding firm at 98.26%, Captain.”

Akinyelle was faced with a dilemma. One that could destroy, or vastly advance her military career, as well as political standing. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> One: Dispatch the Fighter Squadrons, and lead the Hapes Consortium into a possible war, if she fails. Two: Withdraw, and report back to the crowned prince that she had failed in her mission.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Or, she could fight this one out.... Till the death if need be. She’d rather die than have to return a partially destroyed fleet to the Hapes, and report failure, anyway.

“Order the fighters to the surface of the planet. Tell them to destroy any type of defense they see, weather it be turbolasers, or an entire fleet of capital ships. I want this ended now!”

She walked to the view ports of the I.S.D. as the fighters quickly, and efficiently carried out there orders. She stared at them, amazed at there skill and training. The Hapan Consortium obviously took a great deal of pride in there Military. The Fighters flew with such grace, and skill.... There style was almost like an elegant dance, soft, quiet, and peaceful.

A distant look crept across her face, as memories.... distant memories cluttered her mind. Only when the I.S.D. rocked once more, did she return to her duties.

“Lieutenant, what are our shields holding at?” Akinyelle asked.

“Captain, our shields are still in good condition. 97.12%.”

Fighters began to report as they reach the surface of the planet. Akinyelle gracefully took a seat in the command chair as she listened to there conversations with anticipation. Her lip quivered as they spoke, and her frustration seemed to take over her nerves. Though the reports were good, her mind seemed somewhere else, as she softly bit her bottom lip.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Worry..... Sorrow..... Anger..... Frustration.....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> Her emotions ran wild as she felt the sensation of the force running through her once more. She couldn’t control it. She didn’t even realize it was there most of the time. Akinyelle knew nothing of the force, or it’s mysterious ways. She simply knew that she had to win this battle.... for the sake of the Royal Family, Hapes, and the Hapan Consortium.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> ”We’ve spotted a target. All wings commence attack!”<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

The radio’s loud crack of voices broke her concentration on her thoughts, once more. She looked at it, intently as the fighting below continued.

“Captain, we’ve had a request from several wing commanders to perform a planetary bombardment on three locations, scattered across the planet’s surface. I assume that they are Turbolaser emplacements.”

She listened to the report of the Tactical Officer as he stood next to her. Her soft, blue eyes looked up at him as she sat in her chair, listening to the men and women below her fighting on the planet’s surface.

“Do what you have to do to ensure that you minimize Hapan casualties, major.” she said softly. The major gave her a bow, and walked off.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Victory is so close, yet so far away....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> she thought to herself as she turned, and looked out of the I.S.D. view ports at the beautiful blue planet that lay before her, which would soon be under a Planetary Bombardment.

OOC: This is as Akinyelle Daala. Sorry, I forgot to switch names.

The Planet's surface was silent, and eerie. A thick mist cpvered the planets deep, serene oceans as the cool, crisp morning air flowed through the invading Fighters' engines. Water creatures were silent as the fighters flew over them, determined to defend the Royal Hapan fleet in orbit of the planet.

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Silence....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> A strange, and utter silence filled the air. Eventhe sound of the Fighter engines seemed to be silent. The mists turned with a light breeze as the morning suns rose over the planet's oceanic horizon.

Breaking the silence, were several fighter radio communications.

"There they are! The Turbolaser Emplacements!"

"Right. This is Red three, prepared to engage."

"Dragon two, I copy that."

"All fighters engage!"

"What the hell?"

"What was that?!"

"Red three! I'm hit!"

"This is blue seven! I am going down!"

"Green six! My engines are hit!"

"This is Red two! Enemy fighters are on my tail!"

"Help! God help!"

<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Fizzle. Crack. Snap.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> "I'm going down!"<!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Splash. Crackle. Snap. Crack. Fizzle. Buzz.<!--EZCODE ITALIC END-->

Akinyelle stood quickly from her seat, a look of pure worry on her face as she stared at the communications officer.

"Captain! We're under heavy assault! Enemy fighters have appeared around several of the defense turrets. We're taking damage."

Akinyelle could only listen to the crys of the men as they engaged the enemy.

"Order a full planetary bombardment on the Turbolaser co-ordinants, and order our cruisers on the opposite side of the planet to do the same. I will not tolerate this backhanded assault on the Royal Navy!"

She walked to the viewing ports, and watched as the red warheads streamed down to the oceanic planet. The explosions could be heard over the communications link as the fighters below began to cheer, only to return to the engaging enemy fighters after the turbolaser implacement had been destroyed.

Folding her delicate hands behind her back, she looked down at the cold, blueish grey metallic flood of the Imperial class Star destroyer's command bridge, saying a soft word of comfort. <!--EZCODE ITALIC START--> Casualties....<!--EZCODE ITALIC END--> They were an obvious part of war, but how she hated to hear of them. She could almost feel the report coming as a tactical officer walked up behind her. A soft tear rolled down her cheek as she turned to him, quickly wiping it away.

"Captain. Reports from wing commanders indiate that Enemy fighters have been given orders to stand down. Though the engagements lasted only a few moments, the planet's council is admitting defeat, and requesting that we cease planetary bombardment."

She looked at him with a look of mixed emotion on her face as he continued.

"Casualties have been kept at a minimum, and we have lost only six fighters in the incursion."

She nodded her head, indicating that that was enough information.

"I will write a personal letter of simpathy to the pilots families. Thank you, sergeant."

The man nodded his head with a smile, folded the piece of paper in his hand, and walked away.

"Captain, do we cease fire on the planet?" another younger, anxious looking officer asked.

"Not until every planetary defense turrent has been neutralized."

On any given day the private office of the Queen Mother was thriving with people wanting a piece of her time, or her signature on any number of documents. Today was no different. People were scrambling in and out of the large room, no less than a dozen inside the room at one time.

Sorsha, as always, stood to the left of the Queen's chair ready at hand should her mistress need her. As it was, Vessana seemed to be handling everything very well, considering. A soft smile formed on her lips, remembering that morning when she had been helping Vessana prepare for the day. The light in the Queens eyes, the spring in her step... Today was going to be a good day.

A heavy hand fell onto the aide's shoulder and she turned to the Naval Advisor that stood beside her. " Initial reports from Maires."

She nodded, and in turn place a soft hand on the queens shoulder and whispered in her ear. " The reports you requested from Maireshave begun to come in, Highness."

Vessana's smile grew even wider if it were possible and she took the datapad from the Advisor. She scanned over them. " Six fighters. A shame for her first mission, but commendable given the circumstances. Things could have been much worse.

" Send my personal condolenses to the families of those lost on Mirian, and keep me informed."

Hapes, An hour and a half before the assualt on Mirian

Today, began just like any other day, Ren got up, looked in the mirror and wondered who this faceless soul was staring back at him.

He hadn't got too much sleep lately, what with the staff problems at the Queens palace and all. Several of Queen Dionysus' guards had fallen ill due to the flu, and in order to beef up the queen's security, Ren had been assigned temporary Guard Duty to the throne room.

His shift consisted of lovely bouts of standing still for hours on end which he thoroughly enjoyed . . . of course who wouldn't enjoy getting cramp in their leg every 5 minutes.

Nevertheless, Ren dragged himself to work.

The Queen's throne room;1 Hour Later

And there he was, standing in full military Guard regalia flanking the Queen's throne. You see, it didnt seem to matter to most that the Queen wasn't actually in the throne room at this point in time, neither did it matter if she was even in the palace.

Ren puffed out an audible sigh of boredom. The guard next to him turned slightly and stared him. Ren looked back at him.

<font color=lime>"What?!" <font color=white> Ren exclaimed, showing his oh so obvious innocence.

Ren felt a sneeze coming on, he thought to himself how the Gaurd would react if he let out one of his famous Janggar Thunder sneezes.

He felt the tension build in his nose, his nostrils flared, but suddenly out of nowhere, a blinding flash of energy bolted through his mind from the force. Ren whinced in pain before stumbling over the Queen's throne.

He then fell to the floor, drooping his staff while simultaneously clutching the sides off his head. Jolts of power surged through his brain, images of Star Destroyers being pummelled into submission, fighter pilots dying and crashing into the ground, and then it was gone.

The pain had disappeared. Ren opened his eyes and saw the other Guards looking at him, concern in there eyes.

<font color=blue>" Hey, are you alright?"

<font color=lime>"No," <font color=white>mumbled Ren <font color=lime>",no, I'm sure as hell am not!"

<font color=white> Ren scrambled to his feet tearing off his cloak and armour, revealing his normal Jedi attire, and strode out of the palace.

Ren took the nearest Air taxi straight to the Hanger bays where his ship, the GreyHawk lay waiting for him.

The engines of the GreyHawk hummed into life, glowing a deep red, then boosting into a bright yellow as the ship blasted into the atmosphere.

There was silence. Silence among the crew, and the fleet's radio transmissions. Even the fighters communicators were dead silent. She had called a moment of silence out of respect for those that were killed in the battle for Maires.

"Admiral, all fighters have returned from the planet's surface, and are docking with our carriers."

She nodded her head, still distraught over the whole incident. Another tear escaped the corner of her eye, as she turned back to the viewing port, overlooking the blue planet with a nod. "Thank you Corporal." she said in a soft, distraught tone. The man nodded his head, and returned to work as another approached her as she whipped the rogue tear from her cheek.

"Admiral Daala, we are prepared to enter hyperspace. The Mairian Council has signed a forbearance treaty, and the planet is now under the control of the Hapes Consortium."

"Thank you Captain. You may enter hyperspace when ready."

The Captain nodded his head, and folded a document he held in his hand, hesitating for a moment before handing it to her.

"These are the files of the men killed in combat."

Akinyelle looked at him for a moment, before nodding, and accepting the files.

Within a few moments, the Fleet was in hyperspace, and on it's way back to The Hapes Consortium.

Ren arrived at the Hapes Marshall outpost at the outskirts of royal grounds as fast as he could go.

Puffing and panting and still in obvious pain from the imprint the vision had left him, Ren stumbled through the main doors of the facility.

Officials gathered around him, helping him to his feet.

<font color=lime>"Got to . . . get . . .to . . .Maires!" <font color=white> Blurted Ren, halfheartedly. <font color=lime>" The betrayer . . . she plans to destroy the monarchy!!!!.

<font color=yellow>The Disruptor Super Star Destroyer "Neutrality", Maires

<font color=white> The bridge of the Neutrality was all a bustle with life. Rodian Police officers zoomed around the control consoles, while Ren stood in full Hapes military regalia, flanking the Captain.

<font color=blue>" Move in closer, open a priority one subspace channel to all ships in the group. This is Captain Meridor of the Star Destroyer Neutrality. By the order of the Crown Prince you are to cease all military action pending further Investigation. Heir of Ratkus, stand down and prepare to be boarded."

<font color=white> The captain gave the signal for the channel to be closed.

<font color=blue> "Master Jedi, the shuttle Koriss, is awaiting your command in shuttle bay one, you may proceed with the retrieval of the Admiral Dalla. Bring her in.

<font color=lime>"Yes Captain."

<font color=white> A snap of his fingers and a squad of Rodians followed Ren to the turbolift.

<font color=yellow>The Shuttle Koriss

<font color=white> Ren stood, arms folded, inside the cockpit. <font color=red>"All systems reporting, we are cleared to depart Sir."

<font color=lime>" Engage engines, send an encoded transmission to all the ships in the fleet, except the Heir, instruct them that if the Ratkus makes any attempt to flee, they are to disable it. Repeat that it has not to leave this area. And take note that total destruction is our last option."

"Regicided is not a crime taken lightely by the Consortium, Admiral, I am extremely disappointed with you. . ."

This post is dead. I left, and I won't have people benifiting off of my work. If you want Maires, take it yourself, and don't use my wording or word count.
