The child sat at a white desk, screen in front of him with characters scrolling across it. It was short story that he was supposed to read for an assignment, but Lono wasn't even paying attention to it.
He was concentrating on the bad feeling he was getting, trying to find a link to his mother to 'speak' with her. It was a skill that had developed quickly because of the bond a child shares with its parents; Lono wasn't adept enough yet in the Force to use it with strangers or those who did not have much meaning to him. To the child's confusion, he was unable to contact his mother, though he definately sensed her presence far off. It was as though a mental door had been closed, blocking him off.
It scared the 8-year-old, because he had never felt so cut-off, without protection. Events in his early years had caused Lono to cling to his bond to his mother, as other children carried blankets or teddy bears for comfort. When he woke up with a bad dream at night, Lono would reach out for that mental link, and be comforted by feeling his mother's presence so near to him.
Without warning, Lono felt another voice enter his mind. It was one that he knew, but had not felt for some time. Jumping up from his seat, the boy eagerly ran out the door, the teacher staring open-mouthed.
"Daddy, daddy, daddy!"
Lono fairly lept into his fathers arms, his tears springing up once more. Glad to have someone he could trust (at least, he thought he could) the boy let his emotions go once more, sobbing as he remembered how terrible the feeling had been.
"Daddy, someone hurt Mommy! Something's wrong with her!"

OOC: Arg, I miss the edit button. Malice, why don't you start up a thread for the two so that this one doesn't get clogged too much? Also, I was under the impression that Lono would attend a more neutral school, for basic learning (whatever that was in the SW universe), since Amalia wanted him to choose on his own about whether to become a Jedi.

Ky-Vin had only an instant to react.
He tried to pull his blade back down in time to deflect the oncoming blade but couldn't do so in time.
Instead of plunging into his chest, the knife glanced off his left forearm and was flung away. Ky-Vin grunted from the impact, and the Sith's powerful kick knocked him away.
Ky-Vin nearly toppled over onto his back but moved with the momentum of his opponent's kick. He rolled over and got back up.
The sleeve of his tunic was heavily stained with blood. The wound was probably deep. He took a deep breath and tried to maintain his calm and concentration.
Ky-Vin drew strength from the Force and moved in again to attack. His lightsaber was a blur of green energy that threatened to sever the Sith's hand.

As the Jedi slashed in towards Chikami, Lupercus outstretched his hand, throwing all his power into the attack. With satisfaction the Sith Knight saw the padawan fly off away from him, his sabre slash going high over Chikamis head.
"I do wonder how likely it is for a padawan to challenge a Sith of any calibre, let alone two Knights!"
With a snarl, Lupercus lept forward unleashing a volley of force sped slashes to the padawans arms and legs. Meanwhile Chikami began to conjure more Sith Fire.

The sounds of battle reached the Jedi Master as he climbed a hilltop overlooking the Academy. Sabers clashed with one another, entangling for a moment before they were pulled apart. The smell of singed flesh and hair melded with the iron aroma of spilled blood. The Jedi Academy had not seen battle in some time, but that time of peace had passed now. The Dark Side cast a shadow on everything as the minions of Dark battled the defenders of Light.
Kahn cloaked his Force presence, as he himself was unarmed. Amalia had taken his saber, leaving him virtually weaponless. Of course, the Jedi Master knew that the Force was a Jedi's only true weapon; the saber was merely a tool. Still, it was folly to go into battle with nothing to counter a lightsaber when handled by experienced Sith. So, the Jedi Master made his way into the Academy building, the hallways eerily empty as battle raged outside.
Stopping outside of Amalia's room, Kahn entered the code sequence to unlock her door. As he stepped inside, he found himself surprised at the way the room was so clean, everything in its place, just as it always had been. For a fleeting moment, he wondered if perhaps it had all been a dream, and now he had woken up.
Then the clash of sabers brought him back to reality, and he moved forward, selecting a saber of Amalia's that gave forth an ice-blue blade. Holding it in his hands, it felt alien and unfamiliar, after he had grown so used to his own lightsaber. Kahn's thumb lightly pressed a switch, and as the hum of the energy blade filled the room, the Jedi Master was reassured. Taking a few experimental swings with it, he felt the Light Side surge through him. The weapon would do just fine.
Exiting Amalia's room, Kahn was careful to lock the doors once more. He knew that she would be back, someday, to return home, and he had no intentions of allowing her belongings to be destroyed.
Stepping under a stone doorway, the Jedi Master watched as the different colors of lightsabers flashed in blurs in their own separate battles. He had gone unnoticed so far, as it seemed everyone was occupied with their own survival. Now it was time for him to join the fray.
Uncloaking his presence, Kahn let his Force signature grow glaringly obvious. His hope was that it would draw some Sith away from battle to him, lightening the load for one of his brethren.

OOC: Malice I need to write out my Nohgri Master Nogar of the Aiki. If you would humor me I would like to write him out of this RP with some some dignity.
If a new Rp is started I would like to join. Promising limited action on the masters part. His is a way of non-interference to the extreme. So long as no one gets cut down of course.
IC:
The Aiki were one of the oldest of the force sects. And Irman was the last of them.
Vonta Horn was his last disciple. His last and, he had thought, perhaps the first of many. Her presence in the darkness was unmistakable. She flared in the light for a time. Sending out her hope to all on the planet. TO give them a answer to what it was that they fought for. Seemingly as her last act. For as quickly as it came he lost all connection to her in the force on the planetoid. As if she had ceased to exist in this world.
He leaped through the city of theed. The force lending him urgently needed speed. The light was about him. Small lights standing in the wake of darkness.
'Padawans in dire confrontations.' he thinks to himself.
He wishes them well. He did not wish to fight that was not the way of the Aiki. He sought to understand and through that understanding find a solution that did not have to involve death or destruction.
His pace leads towards the jedi temple. He passed a conflict light and darkness intertwined in a way that he had only read about in the secreted Aiki librairies on Obrai-Skai. Souls that once share the same essence now opposites in the force. One of the dark the other of the light. Both masters in their arts.
A dangerous proposition in any time. But in his studies the bond that the lovers and soul mates shared almost always lead to either one or the other turning to the dark. Sure enough the Light that he monitored faltered. Lessened and finally succumb to the dark.
The light extinguished. He was too late to help there but...There was another bond that he felt similar to the first. Yet different.
The source of the darkness was more then apparent. The figure of a running man. Powerful in the darkside. And traveling to a second light.
'So the light sider that fell was a woman' , He made a note to him self on that remark.
Traveling beside him not slowing his pace. The two change directions. Towards places unknown
'So this is one half of the pair of star crossed lovers that I felt in the force.' He thinks to him self. The man entering a building one that had the smell of youth about it. A school perhaps? He felt now the force signature that had felt familiar to the bond of the first.
It was an off spring. A love child of dire circumstances.
entering the school he followed closely behind the dark man. One who's name he does not yet know. The school was alive even as the drama of the force played out around them. Obviously the teachers thought that this was a safer place for their charges. The sith traveled through the hall ways with out words to any one the students stared at him. either sobbing in terror or staring in wonder at this frightening man with the powerful presence.
The Darkman pushes open a door and walks into a school room.
Where before he finished his first step in a child leaped into his arms. Tears forming in his eyes.
Crying out,"Daddy, daddy, daddy!"
As if some unknown fear had sprung up to meet him and he needed comforting arms to ward it off.
The child continues, "Daddy, someone hurt Mommy! Something's wrong with her!"
It was then that the Diminutive Nohgri made his force presence known to the Dark sider. Standing at only five feet tall the alien face of a Nohgri combined with the calmness of a master of the light
He made no move that could be construed as aggressive.
-Avoid confrontation at all costs.- it was one of the most important tenants to the Aiki. His was the way of a diplomat not the fighter. As unusual as that was to his species, the NOhgri, he had grown used to it over the last thirty or so years of Aiki training.
especially not here. Too many innocents were in danger to risk any sort of confrontation except that of words.
"Yes dark one I am most anxious to hear what has befallen this young ones rather unique mother." he spoke of the female that he felt turning to the darkness. His power though formidable was obviously in check his concern for the innocent the obvious cuase. This was a war of words now.
He stands with his double bladed light bo strapped to his back.
he looks the sith in the eye, awaiting the answer with interest, "What has happened to the mother that has distraut the child so much."
He wondered how the dark one would react to his concern in what was obviously a family affair.

OOC: I'm back! Erm...I'll enter the Ky-Vin vs. Perrin duel with a new post. I'll edit if there are objections.
IC:
Kenshin's mind raced as a billion different thoughts and feelings gushed in as if a dam just exploded.
He noted the postion of the Force signatures around him and instantly picked up Ky-Vin's as the closest. He did not seem to be faring too well and the padawan ran with the aid of the Force; turning sharp corners and taking the shortest and least crowded path to the duel site.
Kenshin suddenly noticed a drastic change. Master Amalia's Force energy was suddenly alien...Dark. This change shocked the padawan and he resolved that he would try to help her. But he had to help Ky-Vin right now and he cleared his mind for the task at hand.
Kenshin's sky-blue blade hummed into life as he stepped into the Library Archives. His gaze instantly fell on the wounded around him. He stepped up slightly to Ky-Vin and the Sith and made sure that his position was between the duel and the wounded librarian. He then searched the battle for an opening and charged in at the Sith's side with a slash.

OOC: Ok i'll get right on that new thread. And Perrin, you are needed at TNO. Look in the thread, "The Sooner The better(Malice Draclau). I need you to reply. IT'S VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!
IC: Malice Waited for his son to come. Within moments he caught sight of Lono. The little one immediatly jumped into his arms, eyes full of tears. Many emotions were running wild within the child, Malice could sense it.
"Daddy, someone hurt Mommy! Something's wrong with her!"
Malice heard Lno cry in a frantic voice. The love for his mother sickened him. But it would give him pleasure to tell his son what had happened to his mother. Before he could answer however, another presense had made it's self known. Putting Lono down, Malice hid the child behind him. His parental instincts kicking in, wanting to protect his only child.
Upon seeing the Noghri, Malice growled. The darkside flaring up within him.
*I believe that is none of your business jedi....or whatever lightsider you are*
Malice sensed the lightside within the little being. But it also felt different, not like a pure jedi's force presense. Grabbing Lono by the hand, Malice began to back away.
* Son, your mother has left. She is no longer herself, and she went away for awhile. I have come to take you home with me. Until she returns*
He would not reveal all that had gone on with Amalia......not infront of Lono. It would be too much for the child to take in. Instead he sent the Noghri a force message.
(The jedi master is no more. Thanks to me, she has fallen to the darkside. Now all i have to do is coax our son to join us within the darkside. Revel in it's power)
Without warning, Malice picked up Lono, turned around, and began a force aided dash away from the Noghri. Malice would take Lono somewhere away from the battle, where he would be safe from the jedi and the fighting.

The young boy didn't protest as his father carried him away. Instead, he clung tightly to the Sith, burying his face in his father's cloak. It felt good to be with his father again, to be with someone he trusted. As long as 'Daddy' was around, Lono was sure that nothing too bad could happen. He still had the innocence of children, and believed that he was safe so long as his mother or father was near.
Still, there was that terrible feeling about his mother that hadn't diminished, even with his father's apparent unconcern over the situation. It made Lono uneasy, and frightened. He couldn't imagine anything that could hurt his mother like he had felt. To Lono, Amalia was invincible and untouchable; she was his mother, and she couldn't get hurt. Right?
"Daddy, who was that funny man talking to you? He...sorta reminded me of Mommy, but not all the way. And when's Mommy gonna come back? Tomorrow?"
There was the unmistakable tone of hope and longing in Lono's voice; he hadn't been without his mother for more than a few days before, and something about the whole ordeal didn't seem quite right to Lono, though the child couldn't place exactly what it was. He still trusted Malice to make the right decisions; he couldn't imagine his father wanting to hurt his mother.

Chikami dropped into a backwards roll evading any threat of the padawans lightsaber as Lupercus sent him flying. Coming out of the roll standing Chikami took a couple of breathes and surveyed the fight for a moment, seemingly lost in thought.
Chikami's fingers began to spark and crackle as lightning began to jump between them. Chikami's eyes take on a strange sadistic look as he locks on to the young jedi. Stretching his arm outward Chikami launched the lightning at the jedi.
