With the imprudency called warfare there was always a casualty that came unwanted. With the chaos of open battle someone always got lost, and with the berzerker rage known as combat, ther were always awful memories to be relived by those involved. Thousands of men were plummeted into battle by their commanders who's only purpose was to serve their orders and die. This was the way of the Empire:
Fight for us, hope you don't get killed, and do it all over again.
With the becoming conflicts, it was easy to loose focus on morals...the morals the Rogue Empire clung so desperately onto. They had tried hard to uphold truth and justice, to maintane freedom instead of oppression, rights instead of tyranny. At times it became hard, while at other times it came as natural as the wind.
With recent terrorist involvements and the threats of destruction of military and civilian installations alike by the Imperialistic New Order, the emperor was left with very little choice but to retaliate as he had promised on the news.
Carida
It was literally crawling with Imperial soldiers everywhere. Freedom was a thing of the past there, and instead it resided a major military garrison for what was left of the "Empire".
Emperor Fearsons had made a promise to hit them there, and that was indeed where they were going to be hit. As he clung onto his morals, he knew he had to keep his word.
Carida will be hit today...

The smell of soap was tingling Admiral Seledak's senses and crunched up his nose as he ran his fingers through his dripping wet hair. The hot beads of water from the shower beat onto his tense body and relaxed his muscles, which he needed ever so badly. Ever since the breakout of the Republic-Imperial War, he'd been thrown all over the galaxy to defend possible perimeters and locations where the Empire may counter, but not at one place did they really do so.
A hot shower was perfect for soothing those tense muscles. He dabbed himself with the soap and continued to finish washing up, taking his time a bit. This was also a good way to clear his mind and let him focus on his objective, which he also needed. He was ordered to hit Carida with the his task force. These were direct orders from the emperor himself...unfortunately he was a bit...occupied in the Halowan system with the Chimeran Syndicate trying desperately to subdue his majesty, but from reports...they were failing miserably.
He reached over and spun the nobs, turning off the spraying water the Defiance offered him and then grabbed a towel waiting for him just outside. Wrapping it around his body, he then proceeded to shave and get dressed in his keenest military uniform.
In his quarters he thought long and hard about the objective, he had gone over several simulations and pre plans hundreds of times, but nothing could prevent pre-battle stress or tenseness.
Seledak sat on his bed for a few moments pondering and trying to make sure he knew all aspects of the battle. Carida had three shipyards, and therefore it was a potential threat, being able to produce a vast array of ships relatively quickly and send them out mercilessly against the Rogue Empire and New Republic.
Finally he reached over to his dresser and grabbed his cover, placing it on his head and then leaving toward the bridge. As he patrolled through the Defiance, several stopped and saluted him or stood out of the way in respect of actually seeing an admiral...so few managed to attain such a feat with the rapidly growing empire and all.
When he finally reached the spectacled bridge of the Bulwark-Class Heavy Battlecruiser, he let out a brief sigh. He'd been there hundreds of times and the wonder of it all simply...went away.
His vice, Captain Eorover, made his way from the command deck to the admiral with a full report laid out on his data pad. Seledak simply waited.
"Sir, my report?" Eorover asked with a charming smile. Seledak merely nodded. "Well sir all is good to go, we gave a preliminary scan of Carida, and scouts indicate they're only building TIE Devils. If we can hit them fast, we can get our objective done and be out of there in no time."
"I see, thank you for your report Captain," Seledak said uncheerfully and proceeded away from him, toward his command seat.
When he finally sat down, he said, "Ok what is the time to hyperspace? We need to get this done quickly?"
"The other ships are aligned with us, we will be out in two minutes," Eorover responded as he checked the fleet status.
It took them two minutes...and then they were off.

Surprisingly enough, it was not the Star Destroyers, or the Defiance, or even the starfighters to come out of hyperspace first in the Carida system. First, it was the several Assault Tranpsports and Gamma Shuttles. Over 168 gamma shuttles, all with a full compliment of space troopers with over 200 assault transports were ready for battle.
TIE Devils immediately were launched to assist, and the space troopers began spilling out of the Rogue Imperial craft, one after another after another until the entire whole of space was filled with space troopers and transports. Already however the Assault Transports were fighting their way down to the atmosphere.
Spacetroopers had been found to be a perfect combat to the TIE Devil's weak hull, as it was obviously about as big as a man, and thus the space trooper's high powered rifle could take it down in only a few shots.
Already this tactic had worked on two of the several oncoming TIE Devils. However, just to rain on their party, the Rogue Empire was not done yet. Their attack force was here, the huge attack force that was promised. They smeered out of hyperspace and began flying toward the Imperial shipyards.
