Wild Space - Outside Almania system

Ghost

The hum of the ship rose and fell. Just as it had done for hours. The trip from Dameo should not have taken so long, but the Black Dragon Empire's fleet had moved throughout the galaxy in complete secrecy on it's mission to the Almania system.

The Dameo soldier. Tsun Zarrin, sat in a chair in a small room on one of the Ghost vessels. He sat crosslegged as he directed his fleet. He was alone in the room with his eyes closed.

The feeling of the MindDrive was an interesting one at best. When he had first tried it, he felt as if his mind was being picked apart and laid bare, for all to see. But after working with it more in mock-battles, Tsun had come tos ee the neccessity of it. And he had come to see the advantage of it.

It allowed him to contact his ships without comm systems. And it allowed him to see the battle through the eyes of the sensors. It was something no commander in the history of warfare had at his disposal. Which gave Zarrin another advantage - the enemy would never see it coming.

With a thought he requested the status of the small force. One voice answered him in his own mind.

All ready.

With another thought, all of the Dameun ships executed a short hyperdspace jump, and entered the Almania system.

The ships came out in perfect formation, thanks to the MindDrive that allowed Zarrin to coordinate with his fleet into a layered formation. The force of Reaper vessels went out in front, followed closely by the Ghosts, then the Banshees, then the Ghouls.

All of the weapons were loaded and ready.

With a thought, Zarrin halted his forces just outside the range of the enemy's planetary weapons.

With his mind, he called up the fleet's sensor readings, which he was able to view with his mind.

No message was sent to the Observers. None at all.

( Charecter post one of three. I am going to post two more time on two more accounts. So do not post yet.)

It was a day of celebration on the planet of Almania.

The years since the New Alliance fell and the Rogue Orders rule had passed. Peace had settled on the planet.

The government system was quite well made.

The civilian government had their say on matters in the civilian quarters of Almania and the inhabited moons. While they had their freedoms the military arm of the planetary government, The Alderaanian Guard, held equal say in planetary government. Giving them a system that balanced both the military defense needs of the planet with the need for freedom of speech and other such freedoms. Just as they had on Alderaan so long ago.

The only difference here was that the Guard named after his home planet keep its armaments. He was determined to be a force for defense of his planetary system.

He was not without military strength to strike back. But his first priority was Almania.

The drills have been going on constantly with the constant warring happening in the galaxy at large. The empire was growing that much larger in size.

He did not like how things were going.

He looks out at the Almanian crowds gathered at the Guards above ground Home base. There were civilians touring several military installations. The less classified ones. And a few that were normally off limits to the public. They were getting a rare chance to see the inside of what much of their tax dollars go towards. It was only fair to them.

Tours were going through several fighter bases, turbo-laser facilities and shield generators.

Each person went through heavy amounts of security. Scanning for contraband. Only citizens were accorded this special tour. Off worlders were exempt.

It went aganst his gut to hold something like this. But it was necessary for public relations.

All forces were on stand by. Additional reserves had been called out to handle the crowds. But it was nothing that was beyond their control.

There were even some tours of the Observer Order temple going on as he had heard.

The people had been as fascinated with the jedi that Vonta was bringing to the planet as they were in the Alderaanian guard.

Those that worked with the guard were hard working and as willing to fight for Almania as any person in the Guard.

He only hoped that it would not come to that.

Immediately he heard siryns blairing.

That was the invasion alert system.

Grey turns to find the nearest communications counsil.

Entering his command codes he gains a direct link to the Guard information system.

“Report.” Greyy states to an officer aboard one of the orbiting Defender star destroyers.

“Sir, a fleet of nineteen ships just dropped out of hyper space just out side of Drewwan defense range.” There was no time for pausing they had been preparing for just such an attack for months now. Training was taking over for them.

“Identification?” first rule of battle Know thy enemy.

“Intel is working on it…yes. The ships fit the style of a vessel seen at the brak sector delivering scientist to study an Ion Storm in the area. The ship was reported to belong too the Daemun members of the Black Dragon Empire. Reports indicate that one of them became ill from the effects of the Ion storm. Picture analysis shows that they have some sort of cyborg technology on their persons. No information reguarding their biology other then that sir. Home planet of origin Dameo.” The Alderaanian guard intelligence department had not been lax then. Monitoring Holo-net transmissions was part of their job descriptions. Pulling what data that they could from the net and gaining further intel.

“Acknowledged. Inform Sabreen that I well be in touch shortly.” He cut off the communications.

The alert was sending all people to the nearest bunkers. Greyy just wondered if they could evacuate the civilians from the military installations in time.

A small gray skinned being sat in mediation.

All at once things began to twist around him.

There was a shadow lumming in over an image of the Almanian system.

The Shadow spread to take on a metallic look. Yet strangely it seemed to have a force signature of it’s own.

The shadow opens its mouth seeming to scream at a fleet of Guard ships that go to meet it’s challenge. Several fall to the wayside. Many more fall to many hands that reach out and swat many ships with flashes of light.

Fire flies from the planetary defenses. The shadow is given pause. The battle goes back and forth. There is no clear victor.

Irmans eyelids suddenly open. Lifting without blinking.

Around him he heard a sound blairing.

The defense siryns?

The Nohgri went to check the news channels. There, Over Drewwa was a fleet of 19 vessels. The news indicates that the ships carry no signs of identification.

Irman heads to the temple’s hyper portal. He flashes to The Guard home base on Drewwa.

Meeting with Greyy just as he was heading for a shuttle craft.

They say nothing as they take off into space together.

The alert came one moment and the fleet was mobilizing the next.

A planetary alert signal went out to all forces. Including those that were stationed just out side of the System.

One fleet was obviously in front of Almania the center of the planetary system.

He sent a signal to the forces on the opposite side of Drewwa to engage their Sensor mask systems to cloak them from sensors.

Like wise did a group of Vibres in the main fleet. Making sure to do so out side of visual and sensor data on the back side of the Defender star destroyer.

He ordered all fighters to launch. Even the reserves on Auyumesh. This was an invasion force if he had ever seen one.

One lone Tie phantom left with it’s cloak engaged. It headed to the edge of it’s sensor range before decloaking. Setting up to observer events as they transpire.

This was one hell of a time for an enemy to strike. The celebration tours were taking place and there was no way that they would evacuate the civilians in time if this new force strikes out soon.

The local Holo-news systems send out a general alert of the incursion into Almanian space. This was to be a reported event apparently. For some reason the attackers had not even bothered to jam transmissions.

This was not a friendly group coming to make contact.

Contact does not involve sending a small armada to a peaceful system.

He sends out a transmission.

“Alien forces State your intentions and reason for entering Almanian space ignoring this communique well leave us with no option but to consider you hostile.” He made the statement and had it repeated over the communications systems.

A data file came to his command chair.

It had an intelligence file indicating that these forces were members of the Black dragon empire. He looked at the source.

Gleaned from Anthos Holo-news coverage. One of the ships that dropped off some of their scientists matches one of the ships before them now.

The guard had not made any moves towards this relatively unknown group so what were they up too? And more importantly what did they want?

This was a hell of a time for Vonta to be out on a diplomatic mission.

He sends out a communication to her. Force indicating the intelligence and what they had so far.

Greyy trespe and Irman Nogar would arrive within a few minutes.

Now he turned to work out a strategy with his advisors.

Looking over initial data on ship types and capabilities.

1)700 meters- 14 weapons emplacements
2)1000 meters- no weapons detected
3) 800 meters- 14 weapons emplacements- 1 launch tube
4) 800 meters- 47 weapons emplacements

All planetary defenses charging, weapons bays are loaded and shields are up.

The form of Cardinal Zarrin stiffend for a moment before going limp in his chair. His hand moving unaturally at first to grip the edge of his chair, before his back straightened once more and he saw out of new eyes. The Cardinal once known as Zarrin was no more, the Mystery removed from his body and replaced with a copy of that of his God itself. The Taj viewed this battle now in personal attachment. The fleet was arranged poorly, he corrected this immediatly.

The Ghosts moved slantways around his vessel, remaining in the center of formation as they orbed about him, forming a perfect three dimensional figure, each facing outwards. The two Banshees flanked his sides, one per side as if his personal bodyguards. Each Reaper took up an angle of maximum effectiveness for their DMB's to accuratly cover every portion of space inside and around the newly formed formation of vessels. When activated the DMB's would bathe the entire ORB in its effect and protect those inside. One Reaper remained unattached, facing in system ready to be used as was neccesary. The Ghouls formed a three dimensional triangle around him facing the planet. It was a tight formation intended for immediate defense rather than foolish offensives.

He began to feel his ships humms more clearly as the shields began to raise fully, the armors becoming fully active. Weapons were being held on standby power as to not read as being charged by any sensor that might penetrate so far, but still in a useable mode for if the case might arise. He powered up the interdictors of five of the Ghost vessels without activating them, the Banshees also began their charge up cycles.

Flicking a finger the comm came to life, overwhelming the system with a high powered broadband holocom transmission. He returned the call they had sent in the language of the ancient Dameun.

"Yade dartos Tajan, ricani horen. Kugh mei levole Mici bup ooto Ampi. Mei lemas sual ibal. cintu."

The fleet, in formation turned back away from the system, hyperspacing out of system while powering down their other systems. The fleet was gone, leaving the a small pod behind.

Cassandra raised her eyebrows and glanced at the locked door dubiously. "This isn't going to work," she said to no one in particular. "I won't be able to escape from this ship, let alone be rescued by another."

Crossing the room, she cast her eyes all over the escape pod that was her only chance at freedom from the BDE. The thing was ripped from some corvette somewhere and looked like it could hardly sustain life. But...what choice had she?

There was a knock at the door - the door that was actually the second part of an airlock. Cassandra swallowed her inhibitions and climbed into the one-room escape pod. "Okay...now or never." She punched the controls to open the bay, and fired the thrusters. They coughed a bit, and then they were steady. She rocketed out of the bay, zooming undetected by the BDE fleet towards the opposing fleet...and presumed salvation.

Seeing how the ships that were in system suddenly turned tail and run the Alamanian fleet made many strafing runs with 10 defender squadrons to search for cloaked vessels. There was a single pod left behind on the strafing run one pilot fired off a torpedo at the craft. It had giving no signature and had not given any means by witch to identify itself.

The pod was heavily damaged without power and sent spiraling on a course that would send it directly into the planets sun in a matter of days. Although the radiation would kill the occupant hours before hand.

As the fleet left a single tie phantom left on reconsaasaince to follow them on a hyperspace route. The pilot was a force user. Trained to fly blind and for days on end.
