Tobal nodded in response to the blunt question. He winced as a stab of pain from his side reminded him of his injuries. The doctor stepped forward syringe in hand, but Tobal waved him off.

"Bacta allergy," he said shortly. Life aboard the Corruptor had been unpleasant before the doctors had figured that one out. Even the sudden movement of waving a hand made him dizzy. He blinked his eyes repeatedly, and then looked around the room again.

"Naboo..."

He trailed off. Thinking of nothing better to do, and seeing no one reaching out to stop him, he slid off of the table to his feet. The last scraps of his now very thoroughly cut and removed clothing fell away revealing a body taut and hard from a life of physical activity and years of violent training. The wound in his side, now freshly bandaged, would not become the largest of his very numerous scars either.

Tobal looked at the Jedi about him. Though they probably did not mean for it to show, but they were all standing too casually. All except for one who was obviously an apprentice; he held his feelings on his sleeve and stood openly wary, unlike his peers who tried to hide it. Tobal smiled inside. As if he would attack like this, wounded, naked, and deep within enemy territory.

Tobal did not know the official status of relations between the Shadow Jedi and those of the pure Order, but he was familiar enough with the general principles of the Jedi Order to know that they would be very, very careful if not openly hostile toward anyone who knowingly and willingly used what they called the Dark Side of the Force.

Steadying himself against the medical table, Tobal looked at the Jedi who appeared to be in charge -- the short alien who held his lightsabre in his hand.

"Am I under arrest?"

Vodo drew his brown Jedi robe more tightly around himself. He wasn't very cold, but he could feel lingering traces of the Dark Side coming from this newcomer... this...Shadow Jedi.

Vodo personally never really believed in a balance between Light and Dark. He saw the Force in black and white. But also, he never really worried about it... he thought of himself as a servant of the light, and nothing more.

"Am I under arrest?"

Vodo shook his head, stepping out in front of the other Jedi, taking charge. it would not do to show any form of hesitancy in front of this man.

"Not at all. But please forgive us for being..." He searched for the right word, "... wary. Would you mind telling us what happened to you?"

He inclined his head slightly and leaned heavily on his walking stick.

Tobal opened his mouth to reply, but stopped. He looked at the people gathered about. He could see eagerness, pension, and plain old-fashioned curiosity. And then, the enormity of what he had to tell hit him.

"Is there somewhere private where we could speak?" he asked softly, speaking to the alien. He added, "and might I have a change of clothing, please?"

He glanced at his lightsabre, still grasped in the alien's hand, but decided against requesting it. It wasn't as if he was in much of a condition to use it if the situation arose, anyway.

Vodo smiled slightly and turned to Irtar, "Would you get him some robes, Irtar?" He asked. The padawan immediately set off to do so.

Vodo withdrew the lightsaber within his own robes and attached it firmly to his belt. He would, under no circumstances, hand over a weapon to someone who might be a threat. True, Tobal was in no condition to fight, but Vodo wanted to be sure before handing over the saber.

Irtar returned with the robes (ironically, for Tobal at least, the same brown robes the other Jedi wore), and helped Tobal put them on.

As they did so, Vodo leaned into Kenshin and Silus, "Go to his ship and secure it. No doubt Royal Security is already there, but the ship is on Jedi grounds, and I want Jedi there. It wouldn't do to have people snooping about... so do not let anybody in. Once it is secure and locked down, come back here. We need to discuss this new... matter." He said, waving in Tobal's direction.

Silus and Kenshin set off, and Tobal was now completely dressed in Jedi robes.

"Let's go somewhere else..." He said, moving to help Tobal out.

Dr. Tekis looked dismayed, and was not about ready to have her patient be swept away so soon after arriving, "Master Baas... I need to run a few more-"

One look from Vodo silenced her. Tobal was probably feeling extremely overwhelmed, and needed to get out of the crowded infirmary. Vodo knew just where to take him.

The Fountain Room was a huge room deep within the Temple, filled with dense jungle foilage and tall waterfalls. Dozens of deep, blue pools along with an artificial sun overhead gave the entire room a sense of serenity.

Vodo sat down on a rock and looked at Tobal. The two were now alone (at least until Silus and Kenshin returned), and Vodo had several questions to ask.

But he remained silent, trusting the other man would give his own answers in due time...

Mortor had greatly resented being dragged away from the scene and did nothing but pout in the corner of the nursery Silonik had dragged him to. Silonik meanwhile was just content to chat with the other padawans in the room, or practice his Force skills on the various objects in the room.

"This is boring..." He heard Mortor mutter.

"Only because you are making it 'boring'." Silonik countered. "Why don't you practice your Force skills or something?"

Mortor just snorted and turned away. Silonik sighed and shook his head and resumed the conversation he was having. But it wasn't long before he got the feeling something wasn't right. When he looked around, he quickly discovered that Mortor was no longer in the room.

Oh great, where did he go? Silonik thought, trotting to the doorway. If he gets caught he'll be in big trouble for sure. He hesitated at the door, debating whether or not he should go after his friend and risk getting into just as much trouble. With the adults more then likely concentrating on the man that had come from the ship, it may be some time before any noticed them missing and who knows what sort of mischief Mortor could into during that time: he only had to think of his own brother Trissan to get an idea...

Taking a deep breath, he decided to take the risk and ran out to find him. He would bring up his 'mist vision' to help find his friend, but he had yet to learn how to distingish one white 'blob' from another in that 'vision', so it would do little good. Instead he used logic: where would Mortor most likely go? Remembering how interested he was in the crash scene, that seemed to be the most logical place his friend would go. On the way there however, he literally ran into the two Jedi Master Baas had sent out to secure the ship.

For a moment he could only stare blanking at the two older Jedi, his throat suddenly dry as their eyes turned down to regard him. Thankfully the words to say came to him. "Forgive me Masters." He blurted out in his best Basic. "I know I'm suppost to be in the nursery but Mortor had run out and I was trying to get him back before he got caught. I...I think he's nosing around the ship, but I am not sure."

(ooc: Note: Mortor is an NPC, so anyone can control him as needed)

Vodo leaned into Kenshin and Silus, "Go to his ship and secure it. No doubt Royal Security is already there, but the ship is on Jedi grounds, and I want Jedi there. It wouldn't do to have people snooping about... so do not let anybody in. Once it is secure and locked down, come back here. We need to discuss this new... matter."

Silus nodded. "Will do."

Great. He just loved dealing with Royal Security...

Someone had to do it, however, and he wasn't supposed to enjoy it. What he was supposed to do was secure the ship.

Silus let Kenshin leave the infirmary first and quickly fell in step with the man. The journey to the crash site was a quiet one. Many of the apprentices had gone back to their studies now that the excitement was over. Silence was something to be cherished; life at the Sith temple had taught him that.

Besides, what could he say? Silus didn't personally know Kenshin. Certainly, there were brief meetings between them both. No matter how large a temple, it couldn't be helped. But he had never actually introduced himself to the other Knight. It was something he would have to do. But for now, his concerns should be on the ship.

Or they were, at least, until the young Trandoshan nearly walked into them. Silus raised his eyebrows at the youngling as the Trandoshan only stared at them both.

"Forgive me Masters." He blurted out in his best Basic. "I know I'm suppost to be in the nursery but Mortor had run out and I was trying to get him back before he got caught. I...I think he's nosing around the ship, but I am not sure."

Thank the Force
, Silus thought slyly to himself.

"Missing, is he? Well, we'll just have to find him then, before he gets into any trouble," he winked.

Take care of the security guards while I help in this matter. I'll be quick as I can, Silus sent the thought to the knight next to him.

"Lead on, young Jedi."

They would be coming any moment now. The questions. The asking, the probing, the mental torture...

Sitting there, in a room so obviously designed to give a feeling of serenity and peace, Tobal found himself relaxing in a slight manner. Here he was, in the heart of the Jedi temple. Wounded, weakened, and most definitely under arrest. Sure, they weren't going to say it out loud, but they both knew it.

Maybe it wasn't an official kind of 'police arrest', perhaps more of a house arrest. These Jedi were not going to allow he, a Jedi who followed a very different path, to simply walk away. There were things they would want to know.

But where were the questions? Tobal looked at the Jedi sitting next to him, and suddenly realized that there were none but the two of them. Perhaps he had told the truth? No.

"I..." he started, even though he didn't really know where to start.

"Yes," he began again, and stopped.

There was silence as Tobal tried to think of somewhere to begin.

"Gash Jiren," he said finally, "is dead." Without pausing for effect he plunged in. "We were hunting a ... a ... a demon. A creature completely succumbed to the Dark Side. We caught it, and fought with it, in the Valley of the Jedi."

"How I got here I do not know. I think Jiren programmed my craft to automatically come here."

"I think he saw it coming."

Tobal looked at the Jedi next to him, wondering what the reaction would be. Jiren, a man so legendary everyone knew of him, was dead. Sure, there had been rumors; there were always rumors of this sort. But this time, it was real.

When Vodo asked for Irtar to fetch some robes, the padawan quickly went to what was requested of him. Fetching the necessary garb from his bag that was still sitting in the trainning grounds before running back. Tobal seemed a close fit... and Irtar always had a couple of changes while doing his trainning. After all, one set normally ended up bloodied and sweat stained. Most thought the Padawan's clumsiness would get him killed some day. But as of this point, it only got him with cuts and bruises.

Upon his return into the infirmary, Irtar had given the robes to Tobal then returned to his place against the wall, averting his eyes from Tobal until the Shadow Jedi was clothed. But he made sure to pay attention to find out more. That's when the crowd in the infirmary began to clean out to do their assigned duties.

Irtar followed Vodo and Tobal out of the infirmary since Vodo gave no other request and the Padawan was deeply curious. Irtar gave a quick nod to the annoyed physician who obviously thought he'd have to clean up the mess. Irtar knew that just letting this 'Shadow Jedi' out wasn't healthy. The man was just in a nasty crash, and if he really did have a bacta alergy then things will only get worse thanks to the treatments.

Irtar's mind was on fire with questions of this 'Tobal'. He had been taught there was a light-side and dark-side but this man walked the thin line inbetween he never even knew existed. Were there more of them? Where did he come from?

The thing that stired Irtar from his thoughts was the shutting of the doors to the Jungle Room as Irtar came to call it. It seemed Vodo and Tobal didn't want to be disturbed... Well, Irtar wouldn't want to bother them. So Irtar instead stood next to the entrance to the chamber to make sure none bothered the pair.

That's when Irtar heard the hissing voice of a Trandoshan. "Weren't you the one to help the man from the crash?"

Irtar nearly jumped when he heard it, thanks to the Trandoshan reputation in the galaxy. Most were brutes, slavers, and just generally bad people (or so was their reputation). Irtar turned his eyes to see the small Trandoshan child dressed in robes. Irtar gave a sigh of relief and his face turned slightly red, embarassed by the fact he was scared by a child, Trandoshan or otherwise.

Vodo listened quietly to Tobal as the Shadow Jedi spoke. Outwardly, he remained his serene, calm persona. He was ever the Jedi Master.

But on the inside, he was on fire.

Gash Jiren, the legendary Jedi, was dead. Vodo remembered hearing great stories about the man, and what he had accomplished: his victory over Darth Poreon and the Naboo Sith Order, the founding of the Rogue Jedi...

Vodo regained control of himself and banished the shock from his mind as he stared at Hadul. For a minute he did not know what else to say but, "You went to Ruusan?"

It was a hollow question of course, but Vodo did not know what else to say. He felt a great urge to go and meditate on this new information, he needed to calm his mind in order to deal with it.

He shook his head, "This is... disturbing news... very disturbing indeed. What exactly was this... dark side creature?"

Nubian Royal Security. How fun. Kenshin wasn’t one good with nobility and he frowned upon the entourage even more. He supposed security was essential to the leaders of a planet but, according to his personal experience with them, they proved to be more of a hassle than help. But the ship was apparently quite important to the stranger and so he would do what he could to keep in one piece. <o =""></o>

Bowing to Master Baas before taking his leave, the Jedi Knight had barely left the door when he and the Padawan that accompanied him, who’s name he wasn’t too sure of, practically ran head on into one of the younglings. Looking down he recognized the trandoshan to be Silonik, one of the students of the wolf clan he had been instructing only mere hours before. Both Jedi listened to the child’s story with a somewhat amused dread. Curiosity was going to merit in some sort of grave punishment one day for these kids.<o =""></o>

The Apprentice beside him offered to check out the runaway and Kenshin nodded, signaling that both of them should be off if they were to catch this youngling. Watching them get a head start to do so, he then turned and walked off in the direction of the hangar bay. He could only pray that there would be little, if any, paperwork involved. He loathed paperwork…
