Sarce’s wanderings had become frequent and often as he felt alone on the planet of Mimban. Constant action and communication seemed insignificant to him as he walked through the thick forestry of the planet in search of emotion and spiritual connection. He felt at home as he walked through the forests and clearings, viewing the beautiful, distant landscapes that were based on the horizon to the north. The large and rocky mountains to the west towering over the trees below it and the camps that were being set up to the south.
The landscapes seemed to ease Sarce’s pain and torment that unsettled his mind during the day and haunted his dreams during the night. He didn’t know what it was that caused the pain but he tried to ignore it, tried to tackle it and nothing but the solitude and beauty of the natural surroundings eased his pain. Thus, Sarce walked for miles constantly to ease the powerful thoughts and emotion that rushed through his body.
As it drew ever closer to the date when the construction on Mimban would begin, Sarce had become less frequent in his visiting to the camp and often wandered for hours in the landscape, muttering to himself in an ancient tongue. He completed the status reports, made several communications links and inspected the camps before heading out towards the mountains to look over onto the beauty and serenity that had become so close to his heart.
He wondered when the day would come when he would never see the beauty and serenity of the landscapes and he would see an industrial revolution before his eyes with factories and buildings pumping gases and running at maximum efficiency throughout the day. Sarce hoped that this day would be soon else he would become too attached to the planet. And so, Sarce waited in patience.
