Finale

Utropollus System

Theren Gevel stared out the windows of his flagship at the floating mass of metal and flesh, the fight to crack the fortress of Macbeth both costly and bitter.

In the end, a test of wills as the nightmares of the dead came back to haunt Macbeth as anger turned to desperation, Gevel willing to feed the numbers of those dead with assault after assault.

Macbeth demanded the price and Gevel bitterly paid it but not without return.

Utropollus Major and Minor would fall into his hands and it would be years as scientists poured over the technology unleashed upon this world.

The accounts of the few remaining databanks and holorecorders gave the leader of the Bastion Conclave an idea as to the horrors visited upon the planet.

He turned to his second in command handing the man new orders.

The dissolution of the Bastion Conclave as a Protectorate would serve to allow Gevel to focus his available funds to setting up his 'inner Empire'. The Conclave would live as an organization but would now encompass the New Order in it's entirety.

Perhaps Kaine was more paranoid than Gevel after all.

"This is a list of those ships we could identify that seemed to leave just before the outbreak. As you can see, it's not many. Utropollus is not a system that could develop this technology, Commander. Not without outside help. Someone brought it here and these ships are suspect. I want them all found and arrested. Someone will pay for this!"

Then again, perhaps not.

On the pad was a picture taken of a nondescript freighter pilot whose whereabouts where unknown.

The Former Grand Marshall, Simon Kaine, now simply the Commander of the Imperial Armed Forces walked into the chamber from his interviews. The Empire had breathed a collected sigh of relief at the information that Hyfe had survived.

And, as Daemon Hyfe healed, the birth of policies and organizations transpired to integrate the society of the Empire into a tighter knit entity that would perhaps prove to be impervioius to any threat of rebellion, whether external or internal.

The New Order's Mandatory Initiatives.

The Jedi Corps.

He stopped as the door to the chambers opened and Daemon Hyfe stood before him dressed in white.

Kaine knelt. "My Lord, it is time."

Hyfe nodded and motioned Kaine to rise. "I will not forget your contributions to my Empire, Commander."

Simon Kaine silently rose as Hyfe began to walk towards the bright light in front of him.

Hyfe murmured, "The state of our Empire is strong." A smile appeared. "I liked that phrase."

And I will not forget your treachery, orphan!

Daemon Hyfe walked into the light and into focus came hundreds of thousands of voices.

"Citizens of the Empire!" came the voice of the Royal announcer. "Daemon Hyfe, Emperor of the New Order!"

The rows upon rows of soldiers and officers stood at attention as the 2nd Emperor of the Galactic Empire advanced to take his place in the annals of Imperial History.

But to what future?
