A Long Time in the Coming (Diete Somir)

A gentle wisp of wind bellowed at the emperor's long strands of silverish hair, his glowing red eyes pained as he watched the ground. The life that could be presented within the ground fascinated him, for it to be there, and so...plentiful, it was almost warming and exhilerating. Fearsons found himself wondering why he was here on this Force-forsaken planet. The planet of Yinchorr, the planet of the Dark Lord of the Sith. As much as he'd have liked to take down the whole order, as much as he'd like to destroy the Ancient Sith Empire whom was trying to steal his daughter from him, he could not. It was with Diete Somir he had to deal. Diete Somir whom was corrupting Arai, and it was Diete Somir who was attempting to taint Emperor Fearsons with the mesh of the Dark Side.

A Shadow Jedi knows no fear he told himself as he stood ominously over the palace of Yinchorr. It was enormous, reminding him almost of the twenty mile long Rogue Imperial Palace on Despayre, where he would have much rather done combat with the fool should it escalate to that level.

Somir reminded him of a dark plague, one with which held no true meaning other than to wipe out life, life that had done no wrong other than existed and not bowed to his whim. And even thus...sometimes when they did bow to his whim...he would punish them anyway.

As he approached the palace, the two guards confronted him immediately. They strafed the door and criss crossed their weapons to prevent the emperor from entering.

"What business have you on Yinchorr?" they barked evilly, their expressions unseen under their helms.

"I am Emperor Fearsons of the Rogue Empire, Shadow Jedi Master, and have been invited here by Diete Somir," he explained in his most demanding voice, which did little to intimidate the guards -- and after what they must put up with all the time it did not surprise him -- yet they did waver slightly.

"Yes sir," the one to the right agreed and made sure the gate was opened. He narrowed his eyes as he entered slowly.

It was like a sudden sickness washed over the emperor, he was cold...his skin tingling painfully as if a thousand needles pierced his flesh. His stomach churned with nausea, and he knew this to be the Dark Side. The true Dark Side. This was where the Dark Lord of the Sith resided.

"Come out!" he screamed, using the Force to amplify his voice throughout the great palace. There was no response to him but his echo coming back to greet him and another shot of wind bellowing at his cloak.

"Come out now!" he screamed again. He stood in silence save for the howls of the wind for several moments before he heard her mental cry.

Help me... Arai told him. This sent a new wave of grief through the man's body, her pain was ten fold in himself and he nearly dropped to one knee, but used the Force to supress his pained emotions.

I will find you Arai he assured her, and wiped away a tear.

"Where are you Somir?"

The Dark Lord rested silently within a hollowed throne in the center of the great temple. His mind reaches out to his droves of Massassi loyalists. The Massassi, dark creations of Sith Magics, live and die at the Dark Lord's command. They began to close in on the intruder's position, pushing him onwards, towards the position of the Dark Lord of the Sith himself.

As the Dark Lord slowly stood, his Sith crystal wrist gear locked into position and shimmered slightly in the dim temple lights. This place, this 'Temple of Darkness' is a focal point in the Dark Force. In this place it is as strong as anywhere in the galaxy, save perhaps the Valley of the Dark Lords.

As the 'intruder' made his way into the large central chamber, the Dark Lord's voice boomed through the halls...

"Greetings, Chadd... it is time."

The halls would send faint echoes back and forth to meet the half-chiss and the massassi as they walked. The dark presence around them was strong and full of hate...and anger...and greed. Diete Somir no doubt. he had felt the man's presence only twice, but never would he forget that deep dark feeling that made all the difference between light and dark. Fearsons clenched his teeth, preparing himself for the trials he was about to endure. Diete Somir, the Dark Lord of the Sith was going to fight to the death to see the total conversion of Emperor Fearsons.

The Massassi around him disgusted him, the smell was simply mortifying. These were trained warriors, killers for the will of their master. This was appaling and they were abominations, manifested by the evil Dark Side. The Dark Side his Arai had been seduced by.

Fearsons remained silent the whole trip, the only sounds being his breathing or their footsteps or the Massassis' grunting and growling. They would lead him to Diete Somir, whom would in turn lead to Arai. The prized jewel of the galaxy, teh only thing that really mattered any more. Arai Heishi. His daughter, his spawn, his everything rolled into a human body.

They had gone through so much already, the assassin on Tholatin, the debacle over Dakkon, the Yuuzhan Vong imprisonment, and they had come through. What could stop them from reuniting once again as father and daughter?

Diete Somir.

Why could she not have ch osen somewhere like the Naboo Sith Order? Or the Order of Eternal Darkness? Somewhere where the name Fearsons meant something. Oh it meant something here. It meant the galaxy to the Dark Lord of the Sith. Fearsons would be the apprentice the Dark Lord had always dreamed of having.

He will not have me. He will not have Arai!

As they passed the final stretches of corridor toward the end of the makeshift palace, Fearsons used the Force to calm himseld and clear his mind. He would not have the enemy dig into his thoughts, he would not have him using his emoptions and mentality against him.

The Massassi encircling him broke off and made way for the great double-doors at the end of the ever stretching corridor. As they opened the deep dark sense returned, but this time darker as if the sheer embodiment of evil had been caught in the wind and flashed into the Half-Chiss's solemn face.

"The master will see you now," one of them barked, and the emperor raised his head defiantly. He stood lingering at the doorway a moment longer before stepping in. Every second he waited he foritified his mind and emotions stronger. He had control, not Somir.

Fearsons entered, fully prepared for what he saw; and felt. Ahead of him was the great throne of the Dark Lord, with a twisted and evil man with the look of hate. He fingered the arms of his throne before flashing a grin at the Shadow Jedi. It was a grin like that of a cat who'd finally pinned its prey. Fearsons however was no ordinary prey.

The Dark Lord rose from the chair and casted an evil stare on the emperor. The emperor of the Rogue Empire, and the founder of the shadow Jedi. He stood defiantly. Unwavering at the dark sight and feeling.

"Welcome Chadd," he boomed evilly, "it is time." Fearsons's glowing red eyes peered at him expressionless.

"Yes it is time," he said confidently. "It is time for Arai to return home with me." He then adjusted his stance and prepared for the Dark Lord's tricks. He was ready.

The reigning Dark Lord of the Sith grinned, if slightly. He relaxed now, knowing that his position had already been won. Stepping backwards, he stood before his vaunted throne. Shrugging off a dark cloak, Sith crystal amulets begin to glow slightly on the backs of each hand, held within bracers which swirl his hands and wrists, extending up his forearm. Beautifully the bracers are adorn with not only the Sith Amulets, but with gold and other precious metals.

The Dark Lord spoke once more.

"You have already sealed your fate, Fearsons. By coming here, you make yourself mine. Your choice is simple.. join me of your free will, or be forced. However, resistance is futile.. You will join me."

The Lady Athena. Sith Lord and apprentice of the Dark Lord of the Sith. She had trained hard under him. One of the main reason she was not a girl to toy with ever. She was standing with in the shadows as the Massassi brought him in. She looked at the one her apprentice had called Father.

Odd Athena always thought he would look stronger, or at least bigger. Jiren was bigger....

She watched as the two spoke, knowing her role here she would not speak until spoken too. Her evil eyes danced and played in the darkness. Her twisted and evil ways radiated from her.

Fearson was no long in his play zone but stood on the grounds of her beloved husband...

It was all to true as the Dark Lords apprentice they bonded, he took her for his wife, yet few knew of such things. Unless they were told. He treated her like the other few he had ever trained. He gave her no breaks. Hell at times he even pushed her harder. Much like she pushes her own apprentice's.

He eyed Athena, she was a pretty one indeed, another diamond in the rough. Unfortunately he did not come properly equipped for mining more than one diamond...his Arai.

He could feel the Dark Lord attempting to already probe his thoughts...but the Shadow Jedi forced them back. Fearsons stood tall...and confidently. Strong and defiant against Diete Somir's anger and hatred. For none of these things plagued the thoughts of Emperor Fearsons. The only thing he had was desire...desire for his Arai.

"You take me so easily," he said, stepping closer to his throne. There was no hesitation, no falter in his steps as would normally be expected. "I will not be turned. I will not be manifested into my former master."

Those glowing red eyes...so Thrawn-like...the eyes of his old friend...they narrowed to tiny slits as he took another confident step toward the great throne.

"Return her to me, then perhaps...just perhaps you shall have what you are so keenly desiring Dark Lord of the Sith."

The Dark Lord watched the eyes of this 'Shadow Jedi' upon his wife. It did not take the Force to tell him the thoughts of the man, and this only served to make the Dark Lord's resolve stronger. His hatred burned hotter, and his form raged with power.

"Your eyes will stay with me, Fearsons."

The Dark Lord grinned, even if slightly, upon making his next statement.

".. As will your daughter."

The Dark Lord of the Sith, Diete Somir, known as Maim, looked to his wife, Athena ,with a slow nod.

"Bring in Arai."

Diete's eyes fell upon Fearsons once more.

"You will turn, completely and permanently, or your daughter will die. The choice should be an easy one, if you care half as much as you pretend to."

Athena only glared as the man looked at her. She was not something one could just look at. She noticed The Dark Lord and felt his anger starting to increase.

He spoke to the man and then looking at her told her to bring Arai into the room. With nothing more then a nod. Athena turned and departed down a hallway. A few moments later she returned with her apprentice at her side. She wondered if her apprentice knew better to speak now or not. Either way she would learn.

Standing there Athena looked to her right at Arai and then to the man standing out in front of the Dark Lord.

Her confusion was evident when her Master, the Lady Athena, came for her but she did not voice her questions when she was bid to follow. With a simple 'yes Master', Arai walked behind Athena as she was led to the throne of the Dark Lord.

She noticed the Dark Lord first only to have her attention drawn to the other man standing before the Sith Lord. Her brown eyes met with the Emperor's and she fought to control the sudden assult of emotions within herself.

She could feel them all looking at her, and she forced her gaze back to the Dark Lord. Her eyes lowered to the floor, her head bowing in respect to the one she now called Lord.

Arai held her head high again, and waited.

At the sight of Arai he began to move forward, but the snarls of the Massassi and sudden appeasement of Maim stopped him dead in his tracks. Tears welled in the emperor's eyes as he gazed at his daughter, mutedly his lips could be seen saying "I love you Arai".

Finally, he bit back his tears and turned to Maim, glaring at him for all he was worth. This was not fair...this was not using the Force, this was dictating one's reality for the sake of personal preserverance. He bit back the pain and blew out a sigh of pain.

"Let her go...let her go and we will discuss my servatude to you Diete Somir."
