Bridge of the Omdal.
It was as if all their christmas's had come at once, with the bridge crew erupting in cheers.
"Captain, the Star Destroyer Rapier has emerged from hyperspace with her floatilla and launched fighters. They're moving into defensive positions!"
The look of jubilation was doubled moments later as another call came out over the comms.
"Franz, this is Sparrow, we're here to lend assistance."
Karl's eyes immediately went to the holodisplay which now showed another 3 major craft appearing. At the centre of the triplet was the Matriarch Battlecruiser Chume'Dai, with the two Sword Class Battlecruisers Olanji and Charubah guarding her flanks. Above them sat an Arc shieldship and another vital triplet, some cyclone anti-starfighter cruisers.
This group was also streaming to the Omdals aid.
In the space of moments, the tide of the battle had completely changed.
Bridge of the Invincible.
The cries of shock and amazement from the crew were almost the polar opposite of that their lone enemy's crew had made at their arrival of their compatriots. General Ruudrig was stock still, his face and knuckles blanched white with terror. One question kept flooding through his mind.
"How could something so simple have turned out like this..."
But this time the internal matra of terror and disbelief a slipped audibly out of the Generals mumbling lips. Captain Farina turned to him.
"What was that sir?"
The question snapped Ruudrig momentarily from his daze, shaking his head.
"No. Nothing Captain, continue with your work."
The words were slightly louder than his previous statement, enough for Farina to hear, but were mumbled nonetheless. The Captain stepped forward and began relaying orders to shunt all weapons power to sheilds and call for assistance from the Donovia that he didn't notice that the General had disappeared from his command chair.
The bridge crews responses to Farina were less than satisfactory as laserlight and missiles finally begun breaking through the ships sheilds and slamming into the hull of the ship, the Captain realising that the ship was lost.
"Sir?"
With a grimace of sadness he turned back towards the Generals now empty chair.
"General...?"
The last word was a near squeek as Farina realised his position. A shout from the pit revealled that the hull integrity was failing just as he also saw the bridge crew escape pod doors shut. Through the flexiglass he saw Ruudrigs back as he ran unashamedly to launch the pod. Summoning all his wits Farina made one last order.
"Abandon shi..."
The silent explosion of the bridge meeting the inky void of space ended the blindly loyal mans sentance.
Bridge of the Donovia.
As their command ship was destroyed Captain Donovan couldn't help but feel melancholy, sadness at the loss of the ship but a sense of satisfaction that all those fawning sycophants had gone down with it.
"Sir, it appears a single escape pod was launched, from the bridge area."
Donovan shook his head in dsgust.
"Let me guess, one life sign on board?"
The ScanOff smiled, but with a grim disdain.
"Yup, and we all know who that is..."
Ruudrig, you scummy bastard...
"Recall all fighters and divert all available power to sheilds and engines, we need to blow this popsicle stand..."
