Blob Race 0945, on the planet of Umgul....

Imperial agent 008 moved to a position behind the person he was following, who had seated himself on the stands. The person was an associate of a high ring of smugglers charged with stealing large amounts of relief resources being shipped to Isht to provide in the relief effort on that world following massive riots, in an apparent effort of the GLF organization to incite the world to rebel against it's rulers. Only quick and efficent action by the leader of the Mid-Rim Protectorate prevented the world from throwing off it's occupationers and seceding from the grip of the Empire. Following sour negotiations between the Empire and the Vinda Corporation, smugglers and private contractors were hired to help ship in relief supplies to the world while a new shipper was contracted in the meantime. But one organization had never delievered about five hundred metric tonnes of materiel to the planet, nor has offered an explanation of what happened to it. When the Imperial Inquisitorate followed up with an investigation, the smugglers uprooted and left Imperial space. Agents of the Empire were sent in pursuit, and had followed up leads to the planet of the Blob races, Umgul. From this planet the Empire would attempt to root out the seeds of deception and betrayal, and maybe save a planet in the process.

The subject in hand, his name, real or not, being that of Abdul Hijaz, had in hand a substantial credit wager datacard, with about half a million credits wagered on number seven. Loud cheering alerted the agent to look up as the blob races began. Not wanting to look suspicious, she had placed a substantial bet herself of ten thousand credits on number six. The blobs were racing vigiantly now, and number five, six, and seven were at a dead heat. Then numbers five and six began to slacken off as number seven took the lead, and won the race. The agent was non-too suprised at this occurence. However, when such a high wager was won, precautions were always taken to ensure that the winner(s) had not benefitted from the race. The winning blob was examined closely for signs that it had been drugged. However, in the end it turned out that it was not, and so the smuggler walked away with one million credits in his pocket. He was met outside in the same hoverlimo that had dropped him off at the races to begin with. It then zoomed around the corner, disappearing out of sight quickly. A man walked up to the agent, another agent in disguise. He held up what appeared to be the case of a datapad, but what was actually a tracking device. While Agent 008 had tailed the suspect, Agent 009 had planted a homing beacon on the hoverlimo. She ordered Agent 009 to team up with Agent 010 before tracking the enemy smuggler to his hideout, and to set up reconissance when they arrived. She herself had something to investiage, something strange she had noticed at the races. He sent out two comlink messages while walking back into the stadium, one directed to the head security official of the Umgul Planetery Authority, and another directed to an Imperial forensics inspection team that had taken up station in the capital city. When those calls had been completed she proceeded to the pens where the blobs were kept.

Thirty minutes later....

Two standard Imperial speeder bikes pulled up to the pens and then stalled to a halt, before settling to the ground on their skids. Four figures stood up from their crouching positions on the bikes. This would be the forensics team then, the agent had decided. This would be her first meeting with them. The team proceeded into the pen, and glanced at the winning blob, number seven. The agent shook their head, and then pointed to the cages numbered five and six. The team looked at her, and then at the head security marshal, who just nodded his ascent. The team moved to the blobs, two each, and using their careful prodding tools, went to work on the blobs, inspecting them for any signs of tamperment or drugs. Then, one team discovered what they were looking for. They showed their results to the agent, who questioned what it was. They explained that it was a drug that was normally used to help deprave energy rather than energize it. This type of drug was normal for aliens with diseases that caused twitching of muscles, or any other number of illnesses. The agent turned her back the group and pulled out her comlink. She was about to activate it when a humming noise behind her caused her to turn around. As she did so the point of something sharp stabbed into her stomach, causing her to gasp in pain as she dropped the comlink. She started downward at the sharp serrated end of a vibro-blade, and followed it's blade to the hilt, and the hand holding it. She looked up into the empty face of the Head Security Marshal, her face registering shock and betrayal. He let a small smile tug at the corner of his lips, and then let it fade into a sneer as he lifted upwards on the blade, dragging it through her intestines and organs until he reached the bottom of her rib cage, at which point he withdrew the sword, letting a spray of gore and organs erupt from her body cavity. She collapsed backwards onto the floor, and lay there for a few minutes, spasming in pain, before she lay still. Behind the Security Marshal, the four Imperial inspectors took off their uniforms, revealing their black jumpsuites. The security marshal turned to them.

"You have properly disposed of the bodies correct?" inquired the Marshal.

"Yes, it has been taken care of. Imperial reports will show that the four men died in a hover car accident at the intersection of fifth and janguine." said the first man.

"Good. Her body will not present a problem, and I already have a cover story in mind for this one. Go ahead and proceed to the Jay-Alpha rendezvous point, I will be with you shortly. I have to go feed the neks." the marshal smiled.

As the four agents left the area, the marshal looked down the body of the woman one last time before heading into a nearby control room and closing of all entrances and exits to the blob shed, and securing the blob cages. Then he hit a switch that activated a set of cages to open, releasing four hungry battle dogs. Then he watched as they enjoyed a feast of Imperial swine.

Fifteen minutes later, near the warehouse that the signal was tracked to...

Agent 009 and agent 010 had tracked the homing beacon to this warehouse, and they had parked their hovercar on the street next to a hotel. Proceeding to the room they had just rented, they set up shop. A holoscope pointed out the window, and a complex set of communications gear was set up in the apartment as well. Once they had set up shop, they radioed in their report to agent 005. Agent 005 sent that he had recieved their location, and the fact that they had set up shop, and then logged off. The two agents went to work monitoring the warehouse for any suspicious signs of activity. Meanwhile, Agent 005 lay dead on the ground in his own office, the man having just recieved the report of the two agents now on his own comlink, updating his boss on the current situation, the desk secretary in the office preparing two cups of coffee for both the agent and the official liasion between Imperial Intelligence and the Umgul Planetery Authority, having just arrived to the office. The man sent off his report, and then withdrew his vibro-knife as the sound of approaching footsteps. The agent waited until the secretary was at the office door, and then struck. He leapt out into the corridor and sent the knife straight at the throat of the woman. Then the agent gawked in suprise. Where the secretary was supposed to be, was a man dressed in all black. The man caught the knife, and sent it right back at the liasion, lodging the knife in his throat and killing him before he hit the ground. Agent 007 then walked into the room, and looked at the dead Agent 005. He then picked up his comlink, and signaled a squak button, warning the other agents that they were to evacuate the planet immediatley. The two agents in the hotel rushed down to their hovercar, and packed up in a hurry. Agent 009 got inside the cab, and put his key in the ignition. The explosion of the hovercar could be seen for blocks away, Agent 009 incinerated, Agent 010, working outside the car, being killed by the force of the blast, his body being throw through the second story window of the hotel.

One hour after the start of the trouble...

Agent 007 had made his way to the spaceport, where his private shuttle awaited him. He keyed the start up sequence without asking for permission from the spaceport authorities, and lifted off from the space port, headed torwards the atmosphere. The security marshal, alerted to the escaping agent from a betrayer from within the team, agent 006, sent six fighters in pursuit of the shuttle. It was shot down before reaching space, it's remains crashing into the ocean. Later the agent 006, the security marshal, and members of the smuggling organization met in a private ceremony, celebrating the elimination of the troublesome Imperial elite spy team, and of their good fortune in general. Meanwhile, unknown to them, one agent did in fact escape. Agent 000, the unknown agent sent along as an observer, made his report and sent it off to the offices of Commodore Brand, director of Mid-Rim Intelligence. In it included the corruption of the planetery officials, the betrayal of 006, and the smuggling organization, which if the logos on their jumpsuites were anything to go by, were members of the Black Sun criminal orginazation. Then the agent faded into the night.....

Aboard the Allegiance class Star Destroyer Ancheron, orbiting the planet of Sullust...

Commodore Brand swilved away from the viewport on his command chair as the door to his private chamber opened to reveal Agent 000, the man that had escaped from Umgul, the only surviving member from the team Imperial Intelligence had dispatched there a week earlier to track down the smugglers that had defied Imperial law. Information gathered by the agent made it abundantly clear that not only were the planetery officials corrupted, but that they were working in coordination with members of Black Sun, a criminal organization associated with the GLF terroist organization. It therefore became a top priority to take alive anyone associated with the organization, as any information that could be rooted out about the dying GLF's background would be as useful as possible. One possibility would be to invade the planet and conquer it, but then rooting out the criminals could take weeks, even months, and the Empire had more important things to do in the meantime. Plus there was also the chance that the criminals would commit mass suicide or kill the ones with the most important information. With that possibility ruled out, Brand decided to go with another infiltration team. As the agents of the Ubiqtorate had proven too trusting, it was decided to send a elite Mid-Rim Intelligence team this time around. Eight men, including Agent 000, would be sent on this mission, and the man in charge, Agent 000 himself, would lead this mission. Commodore Brand gestured for his guest to sit down and make himself comfortable, and then they proceeded to discuss the plan.

"Before we begin, Agent 000, let me express condolences on the loss of your entire team." said Commodore Brand.

"Thank you Commodore. The loss of my team was terrible, although there is one member yet still alive, although not for long." 000 growled.

"Yes, well, this team is much more trustworthy. Anyways we have informed Bhindi Drayson of the betrayal of the agent, and we hope that she can help settle the matter quickly of how the agent was convinced to betray his own kind. From what we know of him, we suspect he was a plant by the smuggler organization to keep track of our tracking them. But now they have sacraficed his valuable placement. Which means they either have a more valuable plant in place, or else they have decided to throw off pursuit long enough to simply dissappear. I doubt we will apprehend them on Umgul, but stranger things have happened. Now, let's get down to buisness." said Commodore Brand.

Near the main spaceport on Umgul....

Agent 007 peered out of his telescope at the hotel, flinching as he stubbed his injured finger against the hotel wall while he was reaching for the handle to trigger the release of the blinds. He had narrowley escaped death at the hands of the Black Sun criminals, and was now seeking revenge against the betraying agent. But it appeared that the smugglers were packing up their ships, getting ready to leave. Well, 007 could not have that, now could he? He had with him a small group of people, survivors of the earlier sluaghter, mainly the secretary, and the chief weapons designer for their team, Squid. Squid was busy right now fixing up several attachable bombs that Agent 007 would attempt to fix to the engine compartments of the freighters being loaded up now, in order to destroy their engines and ensure that they would not be getting out of here anytime soon. After this was accomplished Agent 007 would pursue his goal of tracking down and killing Agen 006. Agent 007 was in bad shape right now though, having clung onto a plummeting piece of ship wreckage halfway down through the air, before deploying his jetpack and floating down the rest of the way to the sea, from which he swam to a small deserted island. His three hours of swimming had made him exhausted, battered, and bruised. He had barely survived that ordeal, but had nonetheless, and had made his way back here to the main city, where he sought to continue what his predecessors had started, mainly tracking down, monitoring, and then capturing the smuggler agents. The agent released the blinds, preventing from anyone outside looking in, and vice-versa. Then he began getting ready for his mission.

One hour later, at the spaceport open landing pad #1....

Barkum walked out of the padside office toting his blaster rifle on his shoulder. He looked over at the freighters which were still being loaded, crews pushing hovercarts loaded with weapons, credits, communications equipment, munitions, supplies, all the profits the smugglers had made on this planet, along with the gear that had been at their base of operations, which was now being abandoned. It was not likely that the Imperials would find it when they arrived, but Barkum had decided to take no chances none-the-less. He himself wanted to be caught even less, having betrayed the Imperials and killed several of their agents in the process. The former level three Intelligence agent signaled to two Umgul security officials that it was time to being their circuit of the patrol. Unslinging his blaster rifle from the shoulder and catching it in his arms, he began walking the perimeter of the pad. He was halfway around it when he noticed something odd in the dirt. He knelt to one foot and took out a dust brush, and sweeped the area. A light layer of sand was swept away to reveal a set of footsteps, the soles and tips of the shoes pointed from the town to the pad. Looking up, he signaled his two men to remain at this position on guard as he ascended to the top of the pad, and looked at the four large bulk freighters sitting there. From a corridor four mantinence men emerged, in order to begin fueling the freighters. Barkum headed for their ready-rooms, his neck tingling suspiciously. In the third room, the door had been left ajar. Barkum looked inside. The mantinence man, stripped bare, was lying dead on the floor, his neck having been snapped. Barkum ran to the nearest guard station and sounded the alarm, causing sirens to start blaring. Into the guard station's intercom he yelled, "Intruder alert, Intruder alert, all mantinence personnel report immediatly to the barracks." Barkum then ran outside to the pad, his blaster rifle at the ready. Three mantinence personnel reported to the barracks. The one that did not show was assigned to freighter number four. Barkum headed to that freighter at a dead run, but could not find anything wrong, any bombs attached. So he began circling the perimeter of the pad, looking for the missing mantinence man, alas, the intruder.

Ten minutes later....

Barkum had searched around the base of the pad five times now, and had found not a thing. So he went back up to the pad, and began inspecting each of the freighters. In the time since the alarm had gone off, the loader teams had quickened their pace, and had finished the loading by the time Barkum had come back up to the pad. He was searching freighter number four now, when he found the intruder. The intruder turned a corner, a man wearing a mantinence uniform. Barkum brought up his blaster rifle and stiched the man with blaster bolts. The dead man collapsed to the deck. Two minutes of searching revealed nothing, and Barkum grew suspicious. He then recieved a message from the barracks. One member from the loading crew had disappeared. Cursing, Barkum ran to a nearby guard shack. When he reached it, his curses doubled, for he found one his guards, dead, wearing the uniform of a loading crew member. He darted from the shack to the pad where he had left his two men. When he reached it, he found them both dead, another man clan in a guard suit was running for the town. Barkum brought up his blaster rifle, and fired one, two, three shots at the intruder. The intruder held high an object, a remote detonator. He pressed it, and four explosions sounded. Barkum glanced at the freighters, and saw smoke lifting from their engine spaces. Emergency teams were now tending to them. Barkum turned back around, and fired some more. The figure pressed the remote detonator again, and a camoflauged flash grenade attached to one of his dead guard's belts detonated, blinding his eyes. By the time he had cleared them, the intruder was gone.

One hour later....

The damage had been done. Barkum was in the main breifing chambers of the smugglers, and they had a hard decision to make. The four freighters had been disabled, and they could not repair them for another three days. Barkum was in favour of abandoning them, however a vote was called it was decided to stay and repair them, calling in other freighters just in case they couldn't repair them. One way or another, in three days, the smugglers would withdraw from the planet Umgul for good. Barkum feared that the Imperials would be here within that time period, but he dismissed his worries, and vowed to track down the person who had sabotaged the freighter, and kill him and his associates within that three day time period.

In the meantime, in orbit above Sullust...

A single unmarked shuttle departed from the hangar bay of the star destroyer Ancheron. The shuttle pointed it's bow torwards Umgul, and entered hyperspace. It would arrived within twelve hours. And then the real fun would begin.

Some days later, above the planet of Umgul

The endgame was now at hand. The unmarked shuttle arrived within the system, and attempted to infiltrate the planet's orbit. It was intercepted, however, by two X-wing class snubfighters, old craft salvaged from battles long ago forgotten, and completley rebuilt. A short firefight ensued in which the shuttle crashed into the forest floor below. One of the X-wings fired a proton torpedo into the wreckage, resulting in a massive explosion that sent pieces of the shuttle crashing over the forest floor, with some trees and shrubbery catching afire in the process. A large black cloud rose up over the landscape, visible by a nearby village, which promplty dispatched a volunteer fire rescue team to the area. From the nearest local docking port three chariot LAVs were dispatched by the planetery authority to investigate the remains of the shuttle. Meanwhile, at the site of the shuttle wreckage, there was an modified escape pod relativley intact. The infiltration team had anicipated getting shot down upon insertion, and so had decided to divide their team into two groups. Four commandoes and two agents would cram into the escape pod, while two commandoes and two pilots would fly the shuttle in. The four latter ones were all dead of course, the remains of their bodies scattered and strewn widely about, but the former six all survived, although they were knocked out when the volunteer fire rescue team arrived. The team radioed that they have recovered six survivors, and were proceeding to the main capital city, where the hospital facilites were more suited to treating the injured patients.

Some hours later, the investigators had reached the crashed shuttle site, and carefully combed through it's wreckage. In the process they found a transmitting beacon, and deactivated it, as it's source was determined to be a holo routing station in the main city. From there it would lead to someplace off planet. What the investigators did not know, unfortunatley for them, was that if the beacon was deactivated, the Imperial fleet was tasked to jump in and attack the planet. It would arrive in approximatley eight hours from now. Having completed their work, the investigation team called in an salvage crew to remove the remaining bodies and shuttle wreckage.

Main spaceport city, location: Hospital

The hoverscout containing the six wounded men and women arrived at the hospital. Some of the men and women were battered and bruised, and others contained burn marks, while one contained what appeared to be a blaster wound to his side. When asked about how this happened, the lead volunteer firefighter merely shrugged and reported that this was how they found the victims. So the six wounded people were transferred into the restrainment portion of the hospital were wounded criminals and suspects were often treated at, and the six volunteer firefighters were allowed to be on their way. They stopped off at a local hotel to reserve some rooms, and then the four commandoes and two agents took off their firefighting uniforms and dressed into proper evening clothes. The female agent donned a large tote bag that contained the spy equipment that will be used in scouting the spaceport. Then the agents realised that the beacon was missing, and automatically assumed the worse, which meant that they had about six hours, tops, to carry out their mission. Therefore, they decided that a reconissance in force was in order.

Main spaceport city, location: Apartment building complex

Agent 007 was alive, and by now had recovered from his injuries, and was well rested. He knew that standard Imperial protocol was to either jump in and take the system, or else try for another infiltration team. He decided that with a Commodore commanding, that the latter was more likely, and so he would set up a support position for the team. He had scouted out a good location for a mortar to be hidden at until the time for it to be needed would be at hand, and of course he had retrieved the Xerrol Nightstinger MkIII sniper rifle that was issued to the team before it's depature. His apartment offered up a good view of the spaceport, and was a perfect sniping position. He merely awaited for the recon team to arrive, and then he would be ready for some sweet revenge.

In the orbit of Sullust...

The Imperial fleet was underway. Commodore Brand had recieved word that the automated beacon was no longer transmitting, and so he had to assume the worst, that the entire team was incapacitated, their mission no longer being able to be carried out. Therefore he had decided to go ahead and launch a full scale attack. His taskforce consisted of three vessels, a Dominator class Star Destroyer, a Liberty Frontline destroyer, and an Aegis star carrier. Other vehicle complements included ten squadrons of TIE Interceptors, and six squadrons of TIE Bombers, along with numerous shuttles and two full divisions of stormtroopers. The smugglers will be punished one way or another. The ships had now formed into an assault wedge, the Archangel class destroyer in the lead, the Dominator following behind, and the star carrier in the rear position. Commodore Brand looked down at his navigator, who looked up and nodded his head indicating that all the systems were ready to go, and that lightspeed could be initiated at any time. Brand nodded his head, and then leaned back in his seat as the taskforce accelerated into lightspeed.

Main Spaceport City, Location: Spaceport

Barkum had just finished reading the report delievered by the planetery authorities over what had happened with the shuttle crash located just outside a local village, and he was not at all pleased with what he had read. The shuttle was an unmarked model, obviously an infiltration team, but what made Barkum so uneasy was that the description of the criminals in custody in the hospital were not similar to that of the bodies recovered by the investigation team. Barkum suspected that there had been a mix-up and that the surviving infiltration team members were now loose in the main city, and the people being brutually interrogated in the hospital, claiming their innoncence may be just that, innocent citizens that were in the wrong place at the wrong time. He would type up a short report and have it sent to the chief magistrate of the local city authorities about what to look for to see if his theory was correct. In the meantime though he had more important work to attend to. That rogue agent was still out there, and the freighters were still not fully repaired. Other freighters had arrived to take their place, but the spaceport did not have many large bays, and so only about one fourth of the relief freighters could dock to take on supplies at any one time. So far the process was half done, and it would take another day before preparations were finally finished. The planetery authorities that were involved in this scandal would also be joining the smugglers, giving their group some much needed firepower to help deal with the Imperial threat. Barkum nodded his head and went back to work overseeing the security set up at the docks for the relief freighters.

Main Spaceport City, Location: a short distance from the spaceport

The commandoes and agents were ready for the reconissance in fire. The first phase of their plan would begin right here, right now. They had, during the course of the night, stolen four speeder bikes and two Chariots from the local police forces, and had hidden them until now. They also had made contact and recruited several rebels that had opposed the corrupt planetery officials and been forced into hiding. Having suited up into armour and readied their weapons, the commandoes, rebels, and agents slipped into their respective vehicles, and took off. The first phase was simple, to attack the main freighter site, a hit and fade strike that would either end very quickly or turn into a full scale assault if the security forces were offguard. Gunning the speeders, they hit the road, and were on their way to the spaceport.

At the spaceport....

Former Agent 006 aka Barkum heard the whine of the speeders, and glanced to the south, torwards where the old freighters were being offloaded. Then he heard the whine of blasters being fired, both small arms and large military models. Cursing, he rounded up the nearby security personnel and headed at a dead run to the main docking bay, as the loud blaring of alarm klaxons began to resonate all over the spaceport.

In the meantime, the two agents landed their respective Chariots on the spaceport platform, and disembarked each ten rebel fighters, armed with standard issue stormtrooper blaster rifles, which proceeded to fire upon the spaceport security officers now emerging from the several corridors leading to the main docking bay. The two agents proceeded to the rear of their respected Chariots and activated a switch that revealed a small laser turret. Donning goggles, they proceeded to activate the turrets, and added their fire to that of the rebels, while the four commandoes on their speeder bikes continued to harass the personnel from the sides. This lasted for about five minutes until several factors occured that prove a turning point in the skirmish. First, A Y-wing bomber arrived, and dropped a series of proton bombs that turned both Chariots into large pieces of scrap metal, killing one of the agents, and wounding the other one who had managed to leap clear, and secondly, a flood of security personnel arrived and launched a serious counter-attack that immediatly killed several of the rebels. One of the commandoes bravely sarcraficed himself, driving his speeder from a sideways angle into the midst of the officers, impaling several and killing some more before another arriving marksmen, the former agent Barkum, shot him off the speeder bike with his newly-scoped blaster rifle.

At the apartment complex...

Agent 007 had been awakened by the sounds of the blasters being fired, and had watched the assault. He had winced when the Y-wing bomber had made it's run, and now decided to intervene for the sake of the assaulting team. He activated his six-barrel mortar that he had hidden, removing the camoflauge and setting it to fire off ten seconds after he activated the timer. It would automatically spray it's rounds at the entrances of the corridors when fired. It did just this ten seconds later, rounds landing accuratley on target, producing huge flashes of explosions, and sending body parts and weapons flying across the spaceport. The assault team then re-intensified it's attack, picking off several more people. Agent 007 then picked up his sniper rifle, and shot four people himself. The security forces were reduced to about twenty people now, half of them wounded. Then alarms began to blare all over the city, the countryside, everywhere. From the spaceport and military base nearby lifted every single fighter and bomber, X-wings and Y-wings, and a few Z-95s, that proceeded to head spacewards. Figuring that an Imperial assault force had arrived, Agent 007 proceeded to activate a beacon that would transmit to the Imperial fleet overhead. Hopefully some support would arrive soon.

In orbit over Umgul...

The Imperial fleet shot out of hyperspace close to the planet, and on his orders, the Dominator class star destroyer Binder activated it's gravity well projectors, trapping all of the ships within the system. Fighters were then deployed from all of the ships as they swung into line and headed for a group of freighters and warships that obviously belonged to the smuggling federation. The largest vessel present here, obviously there flagship, was an old Imperial Dreadnought class heavy cruiser. Other vessels in attendance were a large number of Corellian gunships, six, and three Corellian corvettes, with about ten assorted freighters in orbit. Starfighters were detected rising from the surface, and issuing from the dreadnought's hangar. In total eighteen squadrons were rising at them, but the Imperial commanders were not afraid, being sure of the potentcy of their own fighter squadrons, which were deployed. Then they recieved a signal from the ground indicating help was needed, and as a result, a half squadron of TIE Bombers with one squadron of TIE Interceptors was detached for this duty. The remaining TIE Bombers headed for the freighters and gunships while the remaining TIE Interceptors and TIE Defenders crashed headlong into the enemy starfighters. Commodore Brand ordered his own flagship, the Ancheron, and the Binder to attack the taskforce as well, while the Aegis Star Carrier DeltaIV, headed in to help attack the starfighter squdarons. Bright lights lit up the local space as the starfighter forces engaged.

At the spaceport...

The agents and commandoes recieved a message over their comlinks. After listening in, they fired flash grenades and ordered their forces to retreat. The three commandoes on the speeder bikes came over and picked up the agent and the two remaining rebels, and lead the group off to safety, 007 picking off any security officials who tried to chase them.

Barkum watched their retreat with a feeling of satisfaction, thinking that they had retreated thanks to the superiority of his own forces. In the meantime the Y-wing bomber that had helped them earlier now swung down low in pursuit of the three speeder bikes, it's bomb bay door once again open. Inside the Y-wing, the planetery security chief smiled, aniticipating finishing his job by killing the last surviving agent of the original team. He was about to release when two shadows were cast over his Y-wing. He glanced back and gacked to see two Imperial TIE Interceptors behind him, moving into firing position. He pulled up, his final mistake. The two Interceptors fired, both hitting him with quad linked bursts, his Y-wing disappearing into a golden globe explosion, pieces raining down on the landscape below, the occupants of the speeders, cheering wildly at his demise. Barkum could not believe it, and then turned his head due north as more screeching caught his attention. There, coming out of the sky, a formation of six TIE Bombers screamed torwards the spaceport in Delta formation, their bomb bay doors already opened. Barkum ran like a madman torward the other end of the spaceport. He was almost there when the first proton bombs slammed into the spaceport. A giant explosion lifted him off his feet, and he went flying across the landspace, before he smacked into a building, killing him quite instantly. The spaceport was completley leveled, all the freighters were destroyed, and everyone was killed inside.

Back above Umgul...

After five minutes into the engagement, the fate of the smuggler's federation was sealed. Their fleet was being destroyed at a far faster rate then they could destroy Imperial ships, and the organization's supplies, food, weapons, munitions, were all just destroyed on the ground. The remaining vessels were breaking off, heading away. Commodore Brand ordered that troopships be deployed. Within days the planet was conquered, free of the tyranny of the corrupted officials. It's citizens rejoiced, and what better way to celebrate than a good old fashioned blob race?
