Yeah... yeah I'd say it pretty much is. That would be the nature of sentient beings -- moving forward, gaining knowledge and learning from mistakes. Mistakes like segregation and apartheid, mistakes like a nation run by a church preaching sin-and-damnation-forever politics.
That's called "adoption", Kas. Isn't that what you Christians support as apposed to abortion? But then a woman's place is in the home, right, Kas? Barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen. And white, most of all. If you ain't white, you ain't right.
Well, Kas, given that "Christ-followers" are pretty much the only faith group which attempts to foist its religious values into the America's systems of government and education... yeah, I'd say that type of behavior is pretty much shunned by a general public which has witnessed the injustice of theocracy a thousand times in history. Aren't you the country that's dedicated to taking down corrupt, theocratic regimes like Iran? You've watched people raised, educated, and indoctrinated by nations where religion is law blow up your buildings. Have you still not made the connection?
It is a most grievous error to associate treating everyone the same with equality, and I know that this is about affirmative action. You brought the Africans to America. They didn't want to come. You made them stay in a segregated portion of the country. You treated them like dirt. And now you're making it up to them. That's just how it goes. And don't try and tell me that "it's all in the past and we should all just forget about it". Holy Christmas, man, you're still reaping the benefits of having kidnapped and enslaved an entire racial group.
(I would also note that segregation was a FAR more serious thing and also supported by the federal government.)
Republicans who stomp their feet and scream about commercialization should be slapped in the face. Who do you think runs your party? Don't half of your initiatives have to do with letting businesses do whatever the hell they want?
An absolutely amazing phrase coming from a member of a religion which has founded itself based on the entire principle of indoctrination through the indimidation of hell.
Yeah... uh, Kas, I don't know about you, but I think I'd rather have a country where black people are, y'know, people, than one where we're all nice to each other. Even when the occasional stupid white kid with a 78% average doesn't get to go to the university he wants to.
I mean, come on man, what sort of argument is that?
"Well, I want gender equality, a non-segregated society, and fair treatment for people of all religions, not just Christianity."
"Well... I want everyone to be really... nice! Yeah, nice, that's it."
