Point being, your station to station gambit might work for a few years at best. That is if they are not sucked dry by other survivors, being used as fortified shelter or otherwise destroyed/rundown.
They have better chances swimming. They'll be crushed into pulp by water pressure if they even try to walk across the bottom of the ocean. In the former, sharks and other sea carnivores, plus ocean currents and hopefully their lack of a sense of direction will be my ally to the point that very few if any actually make it to where I am.
What'd I be more worried about would be said floating clouds of nuclear radiation and industrial chemicals that'll be crossing this and that-a-way after the reactors and plants start burning off their coolants and going haywire.
