Jens got pwnd! Looked to me like BJ had him done in more then once, first with the arm bar he released then holding the choke after the tap, but just wasn't willing to do anything less then dismantle Jens from the ground down.
That arm bar was an over under cross armbreaker, and you can very easily hyper extend an elbow and separate a shoulder in the same motion, both of which can cause permanent, serious damage to the joint ligaments. Jens is very fortunate that BJ saying he wanted to retire him was just smoke and mirrors; he could have seriously fucked him the fuck up.
Also, Manny screwed Manny. Unfortunate, since he's a fucking beast and Diaz is a punk with a sour attitude. Good fighter, lousy person.
I'm a fan of UFC but my cable is iffy here (I can't complain too much since I'm not paying for it it just comes in and out in my barracks) so I don't get to watch that show. I'd rather just watch the fights than that soap opera bullshit anyways.
I still don't think that Maynard was truly unconscious. If you pay careful attention you'll see his left leg remains fully flexed until he rolls off of Emmerson. I have no doubt that he was in no position to continue the fight, neither of them were, and so the No Contest result was easily the most 'fair' outcome but all the same, I think that Maynard was heavily favored throughout. That heavy knee and the blow when Emmerson was prone on his back.... He had nothing left. I never liked Emmerson, mind you, and I hoped to hell he would redeem himself (in my eyes) and admit that Maynard had him beat when Joe did the post fight... but whatever, that never happens.
Manny Gamburyan is a monster, a tiny monster. I'm glad he beat himself because I never liked the guy. Hell, I don't like Nate Diaz much better but, if you bring it down to family on family, I'm glad Nate won... it was something of a revenge against his brother Nick's loss to Manny's cousin Karo Parisyan.
He's working on stuff for Pride, last I heard. That was before the Pride purchase by UFC, and I don't know if UFC wants anything to do with Lesnar given how pro-wrestlers (Sean O'Haire being a key example) have done in MMA.
I don't track Pride either... I barely track UFC, but yeah, both Brock Lesnar and fellow fake but sort of as real wrestler Kurt Angle want to fight in the MMA some day.
