Bush would be the first to shove a dime up his nose.
Ugh....
As long as it kills him.
Am I the only one who reads TSA? It's almost monthly, and is filled with cases that take advantage of America's legal system. http://www.truestellaawards.com
Hahahahahahahahahaha.
What exactly makes you kids think that lawsuits are the cause of western society's ills? What study on the connection between litigation and the imaginary moral decline America has been on do you have access to that no one else in the free world does? As if people, before baking cookies for one another will now go, "Hmm, I might get sued". Give me a break.
If you want to do a review of American history, the past 100 or so years have marked a dramatic increase in the amount of civil litigation. The past 100 or so years have also seen the end of segregation, the success of the women's rights movement and a decrease in spousal abuse, and a dramatic decrease in the level of white supremacy and anti-Semitism in North America. So using the logic of the people on this board you might say that civil litigation has led to a more moral America. Of course, that would be untrue, but then lawsuits aren't responsible for people "not doing nice things for one another" either.
Honestly, give me a break and stop saying things like "people never do anything nice for each other anymore" and "today's youth". I really would like to know when this golden age of happiness and light was that happened while the rest of us blinked. Maybe it was when black people had to go to different schools than white people or when everyone was turning each other in for being communist.

Well it's only one of the many causes. But since this thread is about only this one thing, I failed to mention any of the other things that piss me off about this piss hole. Or maybe it's mankind that I should be angry with because now that I think about it there are many places around the world that do really fudged up crap. Like all the wars amongst one another in Iraq... There is still segregation in Africa I believe, don't remember where I heard that from. And then there are tons of sickos that like to watch children and undress them with their eyes.
There truly is no "golden age", Theren. I know that. But there are good people in this world and many wish that more people were like those few. But that's impossible. There's always been freaks, and always will be freaks. I live in a town full of them... old people... and they're all crabby as hell. I wouldn't be shocked if one of them sued a girl scout for coming to her door. :P
I should have been born a cat. >.<

I can comment on youth today because I am one :). But I meant my comments as the judicial process. And how bloody long it takes now a days. I miss the days of public floggings! Some guy kills someone, we hung him instead of filling all our jails with these guys who have no opportunity to ever escape so we're stuck paying from them for the course of their natural life.
I'm sorry, but one year and six months worth of legal fees to write a letter of appology...it shouldn't take that long to get to that point. And I'm not bullshitting because that's how long it took the thing with me to finally get decided to write a bloody letter.
The justice system has far too many loop-holes and takes too much time. Most of it needs to be revamped.
