Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a pretty good book. It has some funny stuff that is taken from actual theories, and is rather entertaining.
Hitchiker's Guide is a brilliant series. A must for anyone who wants to know how to use a towel.
I'm not reading much these days, but I've enjoyed The Screwtape Letters and The Space Trillogy, both by CS Lewis. I'm also a big WoT fan, though we WoT fans tend to go into two-year hybernation bits.

I'm presently reading "Down and Out in Paris and London", which is an autobiography of George Orwell's early years. It's quite fascinating, definately recomend it!
Also of interest:
The Lovely Bones, by Alice Sebold
Lucky, by Alice Sebold
White Oleander (if you haven't read it)

Soooo good.
Add Time Enough for Love to the Heinlein list.
And I also happen to have The Vampire Encyclopedia.
Anything by Neil Gaiman is good.

Star Wars: Traitor
Star Wars: Rebel Stand
Star Wars: Hard Merchandise
Lots of other Star Wars books. Traitor is fucking brilliant though, I love it. It gave me some ideas about the Force and such.
The Ropemaker
Brian Boru: Emperor of the Irish
Eragon
Harry Potter (all of them)
Oh and the Children of the Earth series by Jean M. Auel. It includes: Clan of the Cave Bear, Valley of the Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, Plains of Passage, and Shelters of Stone. It's one of my personal favorite book series.
