If Maggie Gyllenhaal does indeed appear in this sequel, I will cry.

get your tissues out, she's in it... she took over the role Katie Holmes had.. it's like they traded a pretty girl who can't act for an average looker who can act..

I wish they'd choose another love interest for Batman other than that one and Vicki Vale... I mean he had a ton of gf's over the years, with most of them having ten times more interesting stories involving them

I agree Damalis, especially considering Katie Holmes didn't sign on for the sequel. It would have been a good opportunity to go in a new direction. The way things were left it wasn't like they were about to get married at the end of the first one anyway...

by the time the Joker has reached the age of when Jack Nicholson played him, he has spent millions and decades trying to fix his face

Considering that, when Jack played the Joker, it was Jack playing Jack who went in to the goop, not some younger version of himself. So that's not exactly accurate.

This, as with Begins, is like... a total retcon for the franchise.

Batman Begins rebooted the whole franchise, like Casino Royal does for James Bond - this is a sequel to Batman Begins. None of the previous continuity holds.

Just in case anyone was confused. :)

Batman Begins = good, great even.

Casino Royale = not to much...

Also, Casino Royale was actually a remake of a very early James Bond film, of the same name.

That film was not produced by the makers of the main James Bond film license, the plots do not resemble each other at all, and besides that, the original was garbage. Seriously, this is usually thrown around as a normative appraisal of a film's worth in the eyes of the beholder, but despite fielding some of the best talent of the day and a huge budget, this movie was beyond shit.

Seriously, you actually have to rent and watch the original for the jaw-droppingly low quality. The editing is poor, the plot is nonsensical, there are critical scenes just entirely missing, the storyline segues frequently to minor characters fighting for screentime... it's madness!

You ARE aware that the original Casino Royale was a spoof, right...?

I didn't like the new one; and by the sounds of it wouldn't like the old one.
