The Cartoon Network's Clone Wars cartoon has kicked off on the 21st of March and will continue until the 27th, airing each episode at 7pm EST.

Star Wars: Clone Wars

This new series take place after the last batch of cartoons from last year and will start with Chapter 21-27.

I just watched today's and missed the first three.

Anyway, has anyone been seeing them? What do you think of it?

Its not bad. The animation is pretty decent, and the lightsaber battles (Such as the one between Luminara, a Mon Cal Jedi, and Grevious) are enjoyable.

Unfortnately the entire cartoon only runs about thirteen minutes total.

The first volume had 3 minute episodes. This here second one, a God like 13-15 minute episodes. My drool has increased 10-fold since Monday.

I am saddened by the reaction of the general public to these so called cartoons. They suck. They are way too flashy, it's a wonder they don't induce seizures. The animation style sucks, it's in cartoon network's anime USA mesh style, and I hate it. Mostly because it has the feel of anime to me, and after being very open to suggestions and arguments saying otherwise, I have concluded that all anime is crap. It's not necessarily the drawing itself that bugs me, it's the way they present the action sequences.... the way the characters move, flashy flashes, bright blank screen with character surrounded by wildly moving lines, lots of time doing close ups of character going GRRRRRRR..... etc. All these cartoons are, are short 3 minute extremely flashy fight scenes. There isnt *really* a plot it seems, only just enough of one to give the battles at least some context. It aggravates me that in the ones I saw at least, there was virtually no dialogue and very little explanation of what was going on.

The very first episode I saw of the clone wars series (episode 1), I thought the cartoon was highly vague and I had no idea what the hell was going on. I watched it online, so I clicked on the commentary and watched it again. The guy doing the commentary sounded like a retard who had no idea what the hell he was talking about. "Yeah... we decided it would be cool to have that flashy thing there...." yup. Highly intelligent and knowledgable commentary. And after the commentary, I still have no idea what the hell was happening in that episode. It must be written in kiddie language that I dont speak anymore or something.

I don't care if I form a one woman army here, and you all cry witch and hunt me down to burn me at the stake, but I hate them and I will happily advocate their demise. Along with the rest of anime. But them first.

Yeah. I guess I am watching the Version Two then. I caught one episode earlier today, it wasn't THAT bad...

OK actually Joren I stand corrected. I caught one of the new episodes right in the middle today and at the commercial I instinctively changed the channel assuming it was over since the other ones were all 3 minutes. But apparently Snack is saying they're longer which is cool.

And OS that's cool you're entitled to your opinion, I thought the series was gonna be totally lame before I saw any of them. In fact I made a concerted effort not to watch any of them until the whole season was over. That made it a lot better. Instead of watching 20, 3 minute episodes once a week, I watched one big 60 minute episode all at once. It definitely made the whole story take shape a lot more clearly.

I just enjoy it because it gives you another perspective on the Clone Wars, one that you're not gonna find in the movies. Clone Troopers infiltrating Muunilinst, Anakin hunting down Asajj Ventress, Obi-Wan going on one with Durge. All very cool stuff in my opinion.

You are correct about the action though, it's relentless. That's one of the things that I think is very cool about the series. But if you don't like that then you're obviously not going to like the series.

Well, at least I learned how the rite of ascending from a Padawan to a Knight is now performed from this new batch.

I'm just watching this to obtain a canon point of view.

As well, I am baffled on how the Seperatists had taken a foothold on Coruscant in Chap 23, as I would assume that the capital of the Republic would at least have a very strong planetary shield to deflect any kind of invasion.

Hell, if TNO has Coruscant fortified on this board, you would think the Republic would.

Odd.
