Reminding us of our own history and attempting to tell us what, by your measure of gull, we can and cannot do with ourselves and our own nation is completely misguided and ultimately wrong. Perhaps if your reasoning weren't so much like that of a sterotypical jewish mother telling her offspring how good they have it for all the bad they've done, like some sort of runaway guilt trip, and more of a well reasoned arguement against the folly of such a system it could be more intelligently discussed.

You'll also note I never told you or anyone else what they could or could not, I simply highlighted the irony of trying to isolate a country whose history is based entirely on immigration from further immigration, under the pretense of what is legal or illegal save for preposterous claims to ownership of the land in question given that, as demonstrated throughout history, the land belongs to whomever lives upon it, legally or not making those inhabitants in question citizens of the land by the own claim in keeping with the foundation of the colonies which spawned the nation itself. Nor did I make any attempt to excuse the actions of any party based on any examples of pretense, instead punctuate the inconsistencies where, in both scenarios, disruption of "the calmness of civilized society" prevails and that "their due punishment" depends entirely on perspective. My own opinions lend themselves to supporting multiculturalism over the melting-pot and a careful observation of the nature of life, and the history there of, on the North American continent. Furthermore I find it shocking when anyone living in Canada or the United States advocates deportation or restriction of immigration based on parameters of legality when said terminology is so often abused and misused by the citizenry to advocate bigotry, racism, and various other forms of typecasting in an attempt to create smoke-screens with which further deny the inalienable human desire for a better quality of life particularly when those nations go to such lengths to involve themselves with the affairs of other nations or peoples. I am in favor of legitimate forms immigration where those options avail themselves, however; the vast majority of the South-to-North migrants are outright denied these means of legitimacy and so cannot condone the abhorrent means by which the political bodies attempt to deny entry to those who do not possess sufficient levels of education or whom are seen as being a burden on the social structure when, by comparison the situations under which the Europeans settled were not entirely dissimilar from an alternate point of view. As a Canadian I too am part of a society responsible for many of the same atrocities against the native population but key differences present themselves in the form of Multi-Culturalism Vs The Melting Pot and that Canada presently encourages immigration on such a scale that we, as a population, recognize our dependence on immigration not only to sustain our economy, but our very population - a mentality which has its roots in an acknowledgment of the very information cited above. Granted, my initial post was a gut reaction intended as much as a shock-factor soap-boxing but that changes little in regards to my opinion based, narrow-minded reaction to what I percieved to be a narrow-minded proclamation on the part of Heir. However your lack of tact in response to my lack of tact proves just one thing... and once I figure that thing out, I will let you know.

Ahem - there are those of us that immigrated legally and did not wilfully and knowinlgy contravene there territorial integrity of a sovereign nation. When I checked last, when my relatives immigrated into Russia without warning or papers it was 1941 and they fought back.

And before you go spouting off, I'm a minimum wage worker myself, or was when I started this job. I still don't make much. But I think that wages should be governed by negotiation, not government regulation.

I could go into my opinion of unions here too, but I won't.
