I was just wondering, you all know about the Red Sea story in the Bible where the Pharaoh's Army was swallowed up right? Well I was thinking, his army must of been pretty big if it was an army of the Pharaoh. Probably there were like several hundred thousand men and horses. So anyways, they all get swallowed up by the Red Sea, and sink to the bottom, etc. They get buried in mud, etc., and one of two things happen. They become well preserved in all the silk and mud, or else, they eventually get fossilized and become oil like a lot of the dinos. So just think, a couple of the Pharaoh's armys men and horses could be in your gas tank right now. Or eventually the Pharaoh's army will all end up in the atmosphere, gaining their revenge against the god that killed them by creating Global Warming and depleting the Ozone Layer.

Just some random thoughts from a wandering mind. :D

No, the bible later says they were washed ashore.

Of course the exodus never really happened, but still.

The bible is most definately and certainly not meant to be taken literally like that.

Hypothetically though, it's very interesting that you bothered to think about that!

Oh, nevermind then. I guess they were either buried or just left to rot whereever they came ashore then. But it'd be fun to go on a artifact digging mission then in that case.

There is scientific proof that the exodist did occur. *relapse of too much Discovery and History Channel*

What Sam, don't believe in God? Or is it only the Bible that you doubt?

I believe I saw a similiar doc to what Jiro saw about the red sea crossing: they found unusual coral formations that were in the shape of the axle and wheels of the chariots the eqyptians used during that time period at the shallowest point of the Red Sea.

Well, there is no scientific evidence that supports that the 'Exodus via the Bible' happened. A Jewish slave revolt happened in Egypt and they fled to what is today Isreal. Up to that point, the Jewish people had really been nomadic (before being enslaved). The whole 'closing the dead sea on the Pharoah's army' thing has not been proven but who knows? It might have been causing a damn or levvy to break as an ingenious strategy by the Jews.

As for the events that happened of the Plagues, there is scientific evidence that explains it since many sides reported such a think happening. Basically, it was a series of really unfortunate events that the Jewish people took claim for. And this I saw upon National Geographic Channel so I'm not saying it's guaranteed right, just something that I've heard. Since it's made by the same people who claimed they had scientific evidence that Iraq had nuclear weapons.

As I just posted in the other thread:

Actually they've talked about a theory that is unique to that area of water where it does that regularly in a sense. Seasonal rains and droughts routinely reveal then cover up long stretches of sandbars that would have been more than enough for Moses and his people to cross but would have caused the soldiers to sink and flounder in the soft soil. Plus, as the theory says, it was all down to timing.

They've documented it happening and shown it on time lapsed camera. Of course the water level had dropped over time due to drought but to a group of people escaping and suddenly coming across a stretch of land where they had never seen one before it would be a miracle. But, on the film, it took only a period of a few hours for the water to rush back in and swallow that strip of land back up. The theory is that Moses and his people just happened to cross right before the water came pouring back in and caught it catching the Pharoh's army as they attempted to follow.
