Why in God's name are we talking about shooting disaster survivours? Don't you think that enough people have been killed already as a result of this disaster? Any government force that is making an effort to prevent looting is wasting its time.

While there are still human beings to be saved, who cares about posessions? Looters? Let them have it. If it means one person dies because, "sorry, we were busy guarding a store full of broken elecontrics", that's not right.

Never mind shooting them.

Seriously, what the fuck?

I return to my revised suggestion - do not rescue those caught looting.

Is it right during regular times, no - it is known as theft. Should theives be shot, again no simply because they are what I consider to be on a lesser tier of criminal activity - those not beyond redemption. However, in this situation, they ARE beyond redemption because they are aware of their surroundings, their needs, the needs of others, and they still chose to defy the law.

WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE DEFENDING CRIMINALS?????

This to me, makes me quiver - I fear this more than I ever would a militant leader.

The problem is, if that people can get away with looting, then they feel emboldended to get away with other crimes, such as rape and murder.

Who's defending criminals? But why waste resources trying to stop them when there are more important areas of need? i.e. saving lives.

No one likes to see a theif get away. But I would rather see a theif escape than someone die because the police were too busy worrying about crime than trying to save lives.

Hence my suggestion - forego execution and incarceration - the most cost effective way to deal with a criminal in this case is to simply leave them there - they will die eventually from disease and a lack of food - and we will not have spent a dime.

Hate it all you want but you cannot deny the logic.

EDIT: Sorry, let myself get a little too angry there. My apologies.
