I'm listening to Jem's Finally Woken and The Bravery's The Bravery. Anyone find anything new that they've been pleasantly surprised with? I bought The Bravery because I liked their music video for An Honest Mistake. I didn't know what to expect, but so far I really like a lot of the album. Some of the vocal techniques get a little annoying and repetitive after a while, but there's three tunes here that'll make it to my general playlist.
Jem's Finally Woken has so far been a very relaxing background album. I used to be a hardcore rock and rock only listener but in the last two years or so I've been drifting into more easygoing music. Jem's lazy-sounding voice is actually right up my alley.

I've been listening to a lot of Bright Eyes lately. Completely emo, completely depressing, but I can't get over them. I pirated one of their old albums, Lifted Or The Story Is In The Soil, Keep Your Ear To The Ground. Before my Bright Eyes spurt, I was listening to a lot of Paramore, this kickass new band I found with an amazing female singer. Before that, of course, was Modest Mouse.
Right now, actually, I'm listening to Nirvana, mainly because I haven't gotten the chance to in a while. Not listening to Hollywood Undead much anymore, since I'm getting sick of Christmas music and, while hilarious and completely unacceptable for public listening, their new song is completely Christmasy. Of course, when I'm not listening to any of these bands, I'm listening to Xero drunk.

I was pleasantly surprised with the "Rock of Ages" Def Leppard compilation. Other than that, I've been listening to lots of Queen.
I've got some of The Bravery on my iPod and enjoy it well enough.

For The Bravery, I like 'An Honest Mistake', 'Tyrant', and 'Unconditional'. All of the other songs are 'meh' and some are 'skip it'.

I'm also a faggot w/ a Bright Eyes CD. There's several songs on there that I like a lot.
I haven't found any good new bands, but I've got one thats new to me. I recently picked up a Deep Purple greatest hits CD and I fuckin love 'em. If you're at all into classic rock, The Very Best of Deep Purple is a must have.
Most of the other stuff I've tried out lately I've been somewhat disappointed with.
Oh, and this just reminded me that I got Matt Goods White Light Rock and Roll Review and haven't had the chance to listen to it yet. That's going in right now.

Per the suggestion of Gash, I downloaded a song by The Notwist, which I liked a lot. He told me if I liked it, I should by the album. Fuck that, I pirated that shit in fifteen minutes. Just got the chance to actually sit down and listen to the thing, and its damn good. So yeah, I'd suggest the album Neon Golden by The Notwist.
